The small figures look lame, like the current Star Trek and Terminator lines. Although their likenesses look okay.
The vehicles look okay, though. Their designs are very similar to pre-existing stuff (Exosquad mech, Sigma 6 Dragonhawk, Halo Warthog). I wonder just what the impact of Avatar will be? I'm sensing some cracks in the hype machine. |

I find it funny that all of the packages have "Highly Articulated" stamped on them, or as part of the accessory list.
I might see the movie at some point, but pass on the figures. Never was that into the show.

Never into the show? These are based on the upcoming film by James Cameron, not based on a show.

Yeah these are from the upcoming movie Avatar. Not the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender.

*does a quick Google search*
Ah. No wonder I was confused about that one toy looks like Sigourney Weaver (who it is supposed to be, apparently). The only "Avatar" I was aware of was the anime, and that I saw a preview for the film when I went to see ROTF.

I want to see theat Mech, I wonder if it's a retool of the S6 Iron Hammer (or maybe even the unreleased version?)
EDIT: nevermind...I didn't look at the FIRST picture Doh! Definately Sigma 6 inspired designs though....I do see a potential figure I'll have to buy just for his 1:18" wheelchair accessory though! Last edited by Shogi; 07-24-2009 at 06:18 AM.. |

The Mech and S6 Dragonhawk lookalike are both chock full of win IMO...they're going to make GREAT Iron Grenadier Vehicles

I am not feeling this line......
I guess it will have to be a wait and see gig. I do think the movie will be a blast so at least I have that to look forward too. |

BUT........ word is the quality of CG is like NOTHING we have ever seen before. Everything is astonishingly like-like and completely realistic looking. I can't wait to see footage of this. Also announced: On August 21 they will be showing FREE 15-minute screenings of the film in digital theatres across the world. Last edited by ludovicotek; 07-25-2009 at 03:58 PM.. |

The figures utilize the famed 4H t-crotch, and the vehicles look amazing! Definitely not as out of scale as other 3-3/4" vehicle offerings. I'm impressed!
