Kohls sells a retro shirt featuring the Unimind. How can this make a cool toy? I keep thinking of the retro Playmates TMNT blimp when looking at it. Others suggested retro Kenner 3.75 cases. Similar to the shiny C3PO/Vader figure cases. Thus a UniMind case for the new Retro Marvel 375 figures. I prefer a bigger inflatable (yet with more detail) so it can work with 6" toys too. What are some other ideas?

I wonder if that's even on Hasbro's radar. Maybe it'll be some kind of BAF/static figure? A toy case wouldn't be a bad idea either. I think they might stay away from an inflatable if the goal is to get collectors to buy it, but that's just my thinking.

At this point I'm just going to go in with expecting disappointment since that is how my life is going these days. After all, you can't be disappointed if you're already expecting it, right?

Probably will be the official announcement of the Shang Chi wave and it's exclusives, since those were street dated by Target for the 25th.

Why bother showing us target or walmart exclusives......they never hit store shelves at all.

Evidently not since they just officially revealed that today. My bet would also be that we'll see more or all of the Disney+ wave.

I'm sort of "meh" on the next Marvel Monday, since most of the videos so far have left me underwhelmed. Considering that the Shang-Chi wave has already been found quietly in stores and the Disney Plus wave has to be released sooner than later, that's all I'm expecting out of the pre-orders.
I am legitimately curious as to when we'll get to know some new details. We have two known leaked Retro Spider-Man listings with Black Costume Spider-Man and Hobgoblin and several rumored characters such as Sandman, Lizard, Kraven the Hunter and Shocker, so I'm anxious to hear from Hasbro as to what official Retro Spider-Man releases we'll see this year and when. We also know of the second Age of Apocalypse wave and the Retro Fantastic Four wave later this year, so I'm curious as to what the F.F. wave will actually include, such as which versions of Johnny and Sue we'll get, what the other two slots will be, and if we can expect any more fan channel releases like last November's Retro Doctor Doom. Time (and Monday) will tell... |

If they've already revealed the Shang-Chi wave today, I'm going to guess it must be the D+ wave..after the show's finale for this week, at least for now, what will they be waiting for? At some point they do actually have to release the wave...
I'm not expecting it to be X-Men related items, not this time. So without that, it's likely not going to be anything I'm all that interested in, given what's been rumored. I don't begrudge the MCU figures being in the line, it's just not something I'm incredibly excited either, but I know it's needed and wanted by many. Sadly outside of X-Men related items I'm seeing very limited opportunities for comic figures for the rest of the year. But who knows maybe I'm wrong. We're getting a crap ton of product regardless (which is better than a ton of crap product, yes?) Edit to the above: I know we're getting at least three non-X waves that are devoted to comics still to come for this year - the F4 retro, the Bring On The Bad Guys and the Iron Man wave. So it's not as though there's a dearth of comic figures. Just that we've got two of those waves revealed/option for preorder and the line up for the F4 sounds limited though we'll see.....I'm thinking in terms of "what else" there might be. But still...over all that's....six comic waves this year - those three, the first Spider-Man wave (technically 2021 though it came out in December I think) and the two X-Men waves. It's not as though it's a bad year for comic fans. Side note: As I'm occasionally buying the Fortnite Jazzware's figures, I stumbled upon Midas on Amazon. Ordered it immediately and using him for Elixir, granted it's a suit not any of the outfits he wore, but he's gold and doesn't need any painting done. Close enough for now. While it's true we're getting some non-X waves that are comic-based, I was disappointed by the selections made to the X-Men waves and Spider-Man waves this year. Granted, we don't officially know which characters will be in the waves for the second X-Men and Spider-Man waves, it's still an Age of Apocalypse wave and a Spider-Man movie wave. This will make two waves for A.o.A. and for this year two Spider-Man movie-based waves. After the Retro Spider-Man wave exceeded my expectations, this year there's very little known for comic-based Spider-Man stuff, aside from the teases of more single-figure-releases of the Retro Spider-Man brand. Frog Man, the Hand Ninja and whichever is the lone comic based character of the second wave are all we know for comic figures for the Spider-Man waves for 2021 and that's left me underwhelmed. Aside from Moira MacTaggert, the House of X/Powers of X X-Men wave did nothing for me, either. Heck, I'm still waiting to find figures of Cyclops in his '70s costume and his '90s costume that I was never able to find/buy whenever they came out. I never got into the Age of Apocalypse storyline, so with the second wave this fall, that will make two waves of X-Men figures I've passed on. Even the character selection for Bring On The Bad Guys was kind of disappointing to me, especially for whoever that is cosplaying as the Hood.
The Retro Fantastic Four wave is the one I'm most excited to see/pre-order/buy, but even then I'm worried we may not get a fully-flamed on Human Torch and a completely-visible Invisible Woman. Also, I'm still shocked no plans were done for Captain America this year since it's his 80th anniversary year. And not one Avengers comic wave? I really hope the two peg-warming Gamerverse waves didn't kill any new Avengers waves for the foreseeable future. Maybe we'll see more Retro and classic costumes for characters in 2021, especially since Ant-Man, Hulk, Spider-Man and Thor have their 60th anniversaries next year, the Fox Kids "X-Men" animated series turns 30 and the Sam Raimi 'Spider-Man' film turns 20. There's a lot of anniversary waves potential for Hasbro to turn their attention to, if they choose to go that route. To be honest, I'm glad for those who wanted to see/pre-order-buy more of the M.C.U. based figures and that they're finally getting some attention. I just wish we got more classic figures of well-known characters in their '60s/'70s/'80s/'90s costumes, is all. I'm spending less money on Marvel Legends waves this year than I thought, and that's disappointing. Who knows, though? Maybe Hasbro will surprise us all between now and the fall with some more new content. We'll see. |

I really hope the two peg-warming Gamerverse waves didn't kill any new Avengers waves for the foreseeable future. snipped again! I don't play the game so I don't know all of who's in it, but I know at very least there's a Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye that haven't gotten figures yet. Not that I want them personally, but still figures to be done from the game. The questions is, is there really a market for it? From my understanding the game failed to meet sales expectations by quite a bit. Regarding Captain America's 80th annniversry, I hadn't thought about it, but that's actually pretty surprising. In a way maybe more surprising that we didn't get something for that and got Iron Man instead, but maybe the fact we got Cap waves for the last few movies made getting an Iron Man wave more of a priority (even if most of the wave was a pass for me.) Maybe we'll get something before the year's out, it would seem an ideal year to celebrate it. |

@Captain Nash - I believe the latest Avengers game failed to make a profit and Square Enix lost $50 or $60 million dollars in its fiscal period, so yeah, the game wasn't a hit. I also never liked the costumes, so I had no desire to buy the figures. The game's repetition, technical difficulties and generic story didn't exactly help either. Going back to Captain America, I hope we do see more figures for Cap eventually. I'm still hoping for a classic comic U.S. Agent, classic Falcon, American Dream, Constrictor, classic comic Baron Zemo, and a scaly-chainmail Captain America with an alternate smiling head based on John Byrne's art.
Captain America, Daredevil and The Incredible Hulk are the three characters I'd love to see get a new Marvel Legends wave the most over the next two or three years. Fingers crossed. |

Peg-warming Gamerverse-figs should only serve to run Hasbro off of Gamerverse-fig designs and costume choices. Not the the Avengers nor other characters. The Mr. Hyde that they seem to be conspicuously hiding (heh) - at least, as appears to be the case in the marketing packet sent to Toyark for the 'official' Shang-Chi Legends wave reveal - will be yet another very obvious signal to stop favoring game designs over iconic canon looks.
But as a faithful 19 year collector of the Marvel Legends brand, what does my opinion amount to? Bupkis, I tell you... |

Mr. Hyde isn't from a game, it's his Thunderbolts look. The only Gamerverse figure in the wave is Civil Warrior.

Yeah, I know it's the T-bolts Hyde, I said as much from the start pages back. I also thought it was the version opted for in the Contest of Champions game based on comments made having no personal experience with the game. Thanks for the heads up...

If anyone can snag me an AI Tony Stark, don't even need the BAF piece, I'd be happy to reimburse you! That yellow is my favorite color for an Iron Man suit haha

^Isn't everyone going after that yellow/red IM armor? I don't even really like IM, but I want the Shang-chi wave IM too since it reminds me more of the comic look... gonna leave my 80th IM in the box now and maybe sell it off... and make the yellow/red one my default. Hopefully since he is IM he is double-packed.
