I'd say "Toad, Blob and Avalanche would finish my shelves off", but every time I do that, they left field me with something like Callisto- something I never really thought I'd want, much less that they'd actually produce. But yeah, those three are at the top of my wants for sure.

It's low on the priority list, but I hope we get another regular Iceman... like the Retro version, but more blue-ish... and no belt. The Juggernaut wave Iceman would be good enough, except I would want an alternate round head... if they include an alternate round Iceman head of the same color with another character... that would be good enough for me.

It's reasons I worry we won't get a comic Sersi, comic Mandarin (though I do understand there's other complications with that one), and now Titania. To clarify I have no issues with people of different gender or race being cast in roles different from the comics, it's really just not being able to get a Legends classic comic version of said characters that I'm concerned with. |

That version of Colossus is high on my list too. Definitely one of my favorite outfits for him. It doesn’t seem all that likely, though. We probably have Outback, Acolytes, more 90s-ized re-release of the classic outfit, Juggernaut Colossus, and de-powered classic outfit all in line before it.
Since we are obviously going to continue to get revisits, the following are looks I'd like to see for both characters that we've seen and some that have yet to get done in descending order from my most preferred look down (respective to character): Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 06-12-2021 at 08:17 AM.. |

Sometimes I think you guys want terribly designed nostalgic characters from your youth over properties that will actually turn a profit and keep this brand going in the long run.

My apologies! One more poorly designed log to throw on the nostalgic fire that has propelled this line for 19 years and counting!

I know the SDCC set is most likely Excalibur, I can't help but think it should have been Infinity Watch with classic versions of Drax, Gamora and Adam Warlock, plus Moondragon, Pip and Maxam

Sounds like we're seeing that BuckyCap replacement that was mentioned relatively soon.

REALLY wondering when Nova and Quasar are gonna hit Walgreens. I found several Moon Knight figures and hope these will be plentiful!

This made me smile, and is a much more elegant response than what my brain can manufacture. Admittedly, I've pursed my lips at plenty of figures in the last few years. For example, I have no feels for AoA. However, if other folks get the AoA figures they want I think that's great! I'll never understand when collectors out-and-out shit on what other collectors want (dude phrasing it "terribly designed nostalgic characters from your youth" left little to interpret). It seems to me there's enough lore for Hasbro to mine – from the past and present – to keep the line going for a good while longer. On that note, TBM, Crystal, Zemo, Sersi, and Tigra are also securely on my non-X-specific "must-have" list, and I'll take any of the versions you depicted. Moondragon is up there too, but not necessarily that costume. I missed out on that Giant Man, so a revisit of the character is a must. I like your Rogue suggestions, but my "grail" version is black body suit with loose green crop top and matching boots. I don't hold out much hope, but a nostalgic nerd can dream... Quote:
Agreed. I've been poking my head in at Walgreens every chance I get the last couple of weeks. Nothing. Last edited by tierneygreen; 06-12-2021 at 07:51 PM.. |

Well, the whole Age of Apocalypse story was a big deal back then in the 1990s f0r older comic book reader such as me. At least I know who and what the characters looked like.
Also for those "fans" of Tigra, there's already been an older Marvel Legends action figure of Tigra from like a decade or so ago and surprisingly it was part of Age of Apocalypse's Nemesis/Holocaust Build a figure back then. |

I’m hoping they are easy to find too! I keep checking my local Walgreens as well. Nothing thus far.

I was never a fan of Tigra from the old Aveners comic book anyway.
But the old Marvel Legends figures from 2009 theyre still pretty decent looking even though they're a little outdated with the long lanky arms and legs |

@Dr Kain - Which Iron Man did you see 21 of?
@WallySparks - I remember when "Age of Apocalypse" was a big deal too. I was just a kid in the 1990s (or as I call them, the good old days... back when the Earth was still cooling and the wheel had been invented... ) and I remember "Age of Apocalypse" being a big hit with my friends and was always sold out when I went to pick up my Spider-Man comics at my local comic book store. I'm not going to buy any of the figures, but I am legitimately pleased that those who have been waiting years for them and want to buy them finally can. @TheBlueMarvel - I love those pics and I'd buy every single figure of those, even puffy sleeves Psylocke. I really, REALLY would love to see a Deluxe Hulk figure in his brown Pantheon era jumpsuit and normal wave release figures of early '80s/original Secret Wars green costume Rogue, green costume Sersi, classic Beta Ray Bill and yellow costume Crystal within the next year or two (fingers crossed, Hasbro). Beta Ray Bill would be great for a possible 60th anniversary Marvel Legends Thor wave next year, as would brown jumpsuit Hulk if he gets his own 60th anniversary wave in 2022 as well. I'm also hoping for a Jack Kirby art-based purple trunks green Hulk and classic red-and-black costume Wasp. It's crazy how we're nearly halfway through June already after we had all of those Marvel Legends reveals in May. I'm curious to see how busy July will be and what all reveals they have planned for next month. I hope you all have a great Sunday and stay safe, True Believers. Thanks as always for reading my nonsense. 'Nuff said! |

I'm not going to pretend that I haven't groused a little over certain releases. But, usually, my lamentations revolve around 'why this before THAT', or whining about over-representation and retread. At the end of the day, and after my manic moment subsides, I'm of course happy for those who were waiting for whatever it is because 7 out of 10 times I'm going to nab it myself and celebrate along with, albeit to a lesser degree. So while I really want a 'Paul Smith' Rogue, I would absolutely be all over black body-suit/off the shoulder 80's top/mullet wearing Rogue in a heartbeat. Also, as it regards nostalgic nerd dreams, our formerly niche/otaku interests are currently a billion dollar industry. It's hard for me take anyone seriously that doesn't recognize that 'nostalgia' IS the current driver for most things toy, entertainment and pop culture related. Franchises like Marvel, DC, and Star Wars, just to name a few, are decades old. GI Joe's popularity has nothing to do with the modern flics. Michael Bay didn't create Transformers, nor is he responsible for it's continued place in the Zeitgeist. He-Man isn't still running strong because Kevin Smith is about to drop a toon on Netflix. There's a line of Popeye figures getting ready to come out... When people snark out in a derisive manner silly things that they obviously didn't contemplate, I'll 'blah-blah' something at them in an effort to reflect back some of the banality. I probably shouldn't, but I get bored sometimes...lol Edit:@Stuart - Hopefully well get some of those, we'll see. ...forgot one. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 06-12-2021 at 10:53 PM.. |

I do because those versions and looks are what brought me into this whole ridiculous fandom life and I'da straight killed for these toys as a kid. Purism aside, we had some great toylines back in the 80s but they were so vastly inferior to what we have now.

@Laserpunch
The 80's was a halcyonic toy age for sure. Star Wars, Joes, Shogun Warriors Godaikins, MASK, Inhumanoids, Centurions, Zoids, Big Trak, etc...What toymakers lacked in technology they made up for in ideas and batshit expression. |

Brilliantly put. Despite the existential terrors that threaten to mercilessly consume us all and pitilessly shit us out, we should all be happy our cool nerd jonks are finally validated by throngs of uncool normals and the capitalist machine. Not so much happy for the grim reality of that situation as such, but for the resultant glut of yummy media and merch it produces, some of it of relatively good quality. My socks and underwear are all licensed Marvel products produced in adult sizes because society seems to finally have realized that being an adult is lame if it means missing out on fun stuffz.

Absolutely, and some of that was lightning in a bottle for sure (Sectaurs, Starcom, and a hundred others will probably never get the grand makeover for the modern age they so richly deserve), but if they can do those same things I loved better and not have me missing anything from the old toys I'm all about dat.
