Seeing that both the new black suit and Reilly Spider-Men are using the updated body makes it that much more disappointing that the current retro 2099 Spidey isn't. I certainly want the new black costume figure since it's my favorite Spidey costume but since I already have the Sandman wave version I won't sweat it too much if I miss out on the new one.
I'm really liking how the classic Shocker came out so I'll certainly aim to pick him up too. I was able to find the previous Hobgoblin in stores so this one is a complete pass, frankly I'm let down at how the new one came out. I feel like the large retro-carded figure really has to be Rhino.

I was checking the old Toy Biz Marvel Superheroes checklist and saw that figures from the old wave included Annihilus and U.S. Agent. We all know U.S. Agent has had Marvel Legends figures before and is sorely in need of an upgrade, but I forgot if Annihilus has? My memory isn't what it used to be. I'm just glad to see more Retro Toy Biz Marvel Superheroes figures are in the works.
As for the new Retro Spider-Man wave, I have to go with Homer Simpson on this one, "Holy macaroni!" All of those figures are gorgeous. I am disappointed by Hobgoblin, but even that figure is one I'd love to add to my collection. I am curious, though, why Hasbro didn't just decide to make Retro "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" figures as one of the waves. Maybe they can in 2024 for its 30th anniversary year? The Retro Spider-Man figures that are must-buys for me are Symbiote Spider-Man, Shocker and Ben Reilly Spider-Man. Shocker, however, still has those same blast effect accessories. I was hoping we'd see some new "vibro-shock blast" effects for the figure, but some things, like reusing the same accessories over and over, never change (even when they should). Hammerhead looks fantastic, but it's odd he doesn't have a Tommy gun. I can overlook it though, considering the great new sculpt. As for the over-sized Retro Spider-Man figure, as much as I'm hoping for the Rhino, could it actually be Doctor Octopus? We did see that "Marvel MVL Legends Octopus" figure on the Amazon Mexico website, so maybe it's that? Which kind of Doc Ock, though, remains to be seen. For all I know, it could a Retro Doc Ock, a 'No Way Home' movie Doc Ock or an 'Into the Spider-Verse' Liv Octavius Ock. For the new Spidey figures, is anyone else disappointed that we still don't have a classic Spider-Man figure with the three hands all of the other suits like Symbiote Spidey and now the Ben Reilly Spider-Man have gotten? I hope we get a classic Spider-Man re-release with the wall-crawling hands, a Peter Parker civilian head and maybe a "wavy-lines" spider-sense accessory. I'd also love to see the classic Romita Sr. chest spider emblem from the '60s with the spider's legs out to the sides, a la "Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends". Also, what the heck happened to the Captain America plans for Marvel Legends? Will that be the next livestream, or for October? I thought they would've revealed something by now for Cap's 80th anniversary year. I am curious to see what else is in store for Marvel Legends in 2022, especially with all of the anniversaries. I'm hoping we'll see some more Hulk and Thor Marvel Legends plans for the characters, but time will tell. I hope you all are having a wonderful day and stay safe, everyone. |

@StuartGreen2019 - when they revealed the Retro wave I immediately thought of you and am glad you're getting the classic Shocker - but yeah, those special effects have now worn out their (5 year?) welcome. Please Hasbro, it's time for something new.
Annilhilus did have a legends figure, he was the BAF for the first wave that Hasbro did back in 2007. Of course, there was a learning curve and everything that Hasbro did the first few waves definitely needs updating if it hasn't as yet, but if we're just talking about "never done before figures", he would not fall into that. |

@Captain Nash - Thanks for the reply. I forgot about that Annihilus figure, so thanks for reminding me. I hope he gets an update eventually.
For never-before-made figures, there are surprisingly plenty that Hasbro can do for all of their waves. Heck, there are alternate outfits of existing characters that Hasbro hasn't made yet, like Safari jacket Wonder Man, "Heroes Return" armor Iron Man, green armored Sandman, gypsy suit Scarlet Witch, and Armani suit Doc Ock. I'm also curious to see when everyone's Top 10 Marvel Legends for 2022 wishlists will start up. Quite a few of my Spider-Man wants have been crossed off today, but I still have a LOT left to go. |

You're welcome!
I'm ready for my top 10 wish list for 2022, but I'm definitely waiting until after Pulsecon next month. I feel like there's a strong possibility of some more X-Men and the Avengers comic wave reveals that may knock another figure or two off. So far there's only been two revealed from the list I put in last December, which isn't awful but less than most years. |

The trade off is we get sculpted lines instead of sloppily painted lines.

I almost don't know how to respond to that figure. I mean, it IS free with those who get the membership, so not much effort generally goes into those. I guess....it's a good way to get that look out?
Kind of funny though and gotta be a record - three figures of one character who is not an A-lister or headlining their own film over the course of 12 months (AOA, Excalibur and now this)...granted it's all a variety of ways and not mass released, but still.... |

I love how she's not holding the sword by the hilt but instead awkwardly grasping the guard.

Can you use points for those? I ask because I have all of those points from the Sentinels last year that are just collecting dust.

So for the two characters from the Marvel Universe trading cards series 2, my money is definitely on Rachel Summers Phoenix which they already said they would get to and Speedball. If that's the case, Hell Yes!

I keep seeing a lot of people on social media mention Rachel. Am I completely misremembering or wasn’t there already a Rachel Grey figure during Hasbro’s early years with the license? Because they specified it’s two characters that havent been done in Marvel Legends before under either Hasbro or ToyBiz.

Death's Head would certainly be great, he has been on my wish list for a long time. Mephisto was only in a versus card but he's also never had a Legends figure.

Yesterday's reveal showed some nice surprises such as Hammerhead, Shocker on a pinless buck & MK1 90s armored Spidey on a brand new buck. Lemme know when they finally give us classic 70s-80s Falcon with Redwing. Hopefully, there will be Skrull grunts left to pre-order at 2pm. I'm wanting 6-8 to follow Kl'rt into battle. As far as legless character, it better be either Bonebreaker or Bushmaster. Reavers & Serpent Society need to start getting filled out!

I also preordered all 3 Spider-Man figures I wanted from Pulse and Amazon.
Now to wait for the Skrulls and Excalibur pack.

Got my preorder in for 3 Skrulls and the Excalibur set. It does kind of suck that I couldn't get it all on the same order as the Spidey stuff, but whatever.

One thing I just noticed that I really hope isn't the case by final release is that Shocker's yellows are inconsistent, like his pecs are a different shade than his head and lower abs. His knees are also mismatched.
