@Captain Nash- just a further Excalibur update, I just got a "picked up" notification via FedEx in my home state. I'd imagine these will all be showing up for everyone pretty soon.

Ah, I see our resident fake news style posts of the month have started.

It is kinda neat that Hailee Steinfeld is both Spider-Gwen and Kate Bishop. And also Vi from Arcane... seriously people... watch Arcane on Netflix if you can... it is legit amazing. Spider-Gwen is wearing sneakers now though... and the design of her suit is slightly changed... so I guess we need another Legends figure of her when this comes out... which I will instantly buy. Same haircut though. |

Got my 2 Excalibur sets and 2 Human Torches from Hasbro Pulse on Friday. I have a backlog of figures to open but I'll get to these soon. Captain Britain looks great.

You son of a bitch.
I kid, of course. Be sure to post some pictures once you open them up! I’m really eager to see how these turned out, especially Kitty Pryde. Shadowcat has been one of my most wanted figures for as long as I’ve been collecting. Also good to see that people are *getting* these, since my shipment (and apparently a lot of others) are in limbo. |

Guarantee people are gonna try and fix up Shadowcat's hair right? Can't wait to see what hair swaps people try out when more people get a hold of that set.

I really want that Meggan/Shadowcat/Third Wheel pack but I have no idea how to get it in Australia, Pulse still doesn't ship here.

Watching early reviews of that new Retro Spidey wave on Youtube and I think for that particular wave I hope my Target gets in full cases of one figure at a time like how it is with the Retro F4 Legends there. Otherwise whoever gets there first would just buy the whole wave probably and I would never see any figs from that wave on the actual peg. That whole wave is fire... can't remember the last time I saw Legends wave that had all heavy hitters almost.

Did anyone else see that Boog_ACBA has posted a picture of a may-or-may-not be real photo of a cel-shaded Cable from "X-Men: The Animated Series" with his own VHS style packaging? I'm curious to see if that is a real leak or not.
On the subject of new Marvel Legends, I'm curious when we'll see some new reveals this month. There has to be some reveals and news left from the Hasbro team before 2021 ends, right? I hope you all had a great weekend and I hope you all have a wonderful week. Stay safe, everyone, and Happy Holidays! |

So I pulled out my New Gods DC Classics figures today and man, they have not aged well at all in the articulation department. Like Metron feels so restricted by not having any wrist hinges. Then there is obviously the lack of ankle rockers and neck disks that hurt the liks of Mantis, Steppenwolf, Mr Miracle, and Orion. I think those hurt the figures far more than them not having double jointed knees and elbows. It's a real shame because I'm not sure if I should even keep them anymore despite them probably being the only time we will ever get Kirby-based New Gods. I don't have a place for them and with how out of place they look these days, I'm not sure I would even want to display them.
It's a real shame Mattel was too stubborn to update their figures the same way Hasbro does.

It's a real shame Mattel was too stubborn to update their figures the same way Hasbro does. To bring this back to ML, I think residual frustration with DCUC?s demise is part of why myself and many others get so persnickety about ?demand? for figures. I?m always nervous about bad character selection choices killing a line that still had legs. My dreams are still haunted by the Sandman figures we were apparently this close to getting. |

Glad to see the Excalibur set is hitting. I also ordered from Pulse but I haven't seen any tracking info yet. Ah well.

Yeah, never was much of a DC guy, but I have wanted to do a Batman/rogues' gallery shelf for some time. Unfortunately, I'm struggling to find any line that isn't either out of scale with or incredibly inferior to Legends. Granted, I'm not very knowledgeable on most of the DC lines that have come out over the years, but at a glance, nothing fits the bill.
Perhaps I'd be best off not bothering to match the Legends aesthetic and just tracking down some old school TAS figures. I'm pretty happy with what I've been able to put together for Batman's Rogue Gallery and the JLA 2021-12-06_08-05-30 by lowanbing, on Flickr |

I just got MODOK, not a character I'm really familiar with but it looked like a cool figure so asked for it as a gift since it was on sale. It's much bigger than I expected and both faces are painted pretty well. Neat figure and glad I can store everything else in the body.

A good 6in DC line that can match up to what Hasbro has done with legends is the Unicorn of so many collectors- lol. Mezco is a great place to start but unless you want a collection of Bats and Jokers it's going to take digging into DC Direct lines and customizing... lol

Saw an interesting thread asking how an Armor BAF would work.
She's been a character I've wanted for a while, but her powers seem like they'd be difficult to replicate. Is an articulated exo-skeleton/shell over a standard figure something feasible? |

^I don't see an Armor figure being made with the architecture that we've become accustomed to within modern legends. Depending on the artist, her power sometimes doesn't make sense from one panel to the next. Some interpretations make the armor look squishy. The biggest challenge in crafting (possibly for some illustrators, as well) might be getting the joints to line up in a way that makes sense.
It would be nice to see one, but a fig of her presents a few mechanical hurdles. |

Maybe it could be more of an armature inside translucent plastic? And obv the armature is made to look like a person inside haha

Even in the illustration used, the joints are jacked. |

I could only see Armor working two different ways.
1. Make the energy armor a BAF and make it big enough that the character could fit inside the torso. 2. Make the armor pieces closer in size to realistic armor. Chunkier pieces on the outsize of the arms and legs and around the waist could bulk the figure up a bit while also hiding some of the articulation. The one concession would be that some joints like the knees and elbows wouldn't be covered. |
