My Legends wishlist is mostly the same as last year, just without Sleepwalker and Shadowcat.
1. Byrne/Cockrum Banshee 2. Avalanche 3. Blob 4. Feral 5. Wolfsbane 6. Destiny 7. Romita Jr Hobgoblin 8. Ox 9. Fancy Dan 10. Montana Although, I guess Phoenix should be added on it to close out Excalibur...

I wouldn't mind a new classic Darkhawk that doesn't do the split wings thing... like maybe just make the wings like Falcon or Vulture... that would be good enough IMO. Then Namorita next... and I think Speedball was already rumored, so classic New Warriors is almost done.

I’m glad to see other people want Magma. A huge want for me (just missing my top ten) is the entire New Mutants in their eighties uniforms. Would other people be down for those, or are people cool wrapping up the team in the Walgreens uniforms (apologies, don’t know the name of the era that’s from, I’m bad with post-90s Marvel).

Yes, but only if they remake Sam as tall and gangly.
In fact, Hasbro really needs a tall, lanky, yet athletic male mold for characters with that build. Mixed media in the form of Capcom video games, and artistic interpretations like Jim Lee's transformed Cyclops (aka "Slim") into a hulking beefcake when he had no reason to be so heavily muscled. There are a plethora of characters that could benefit from the buck; Carrion; Cannonball; Cyclops; Darwin; etc. |

I’m 100% interested in this. I want to finish the Zeb Wells-era team they already started, but I want the 80s team badly too. Magik is my favourite character of all time, and I will take any version of her I can get. Really, the whole original Claremont New Mutants run is among my favourites.
A would love a classic New Mutants eldritch armored Magik! A Darkchylde figure would be great too. I think I would prefer the Darkchylde look from when she returned to comics. Rintrah shows they are willing to do animal legs. |

I envision Magma done with paint rather than translucent… I really find translucent figures lacking, they just don’t capture the art/ character to me (Human Torch is a prime example). Sym would make a great BAF for a New Mutants wave… Last edited by Ultra Seven; 12-30-2021 at 06:29 PM.. |

Throwing out the thought that a box set of New Mutants in their classic outfits would be fantastic. Sam would definitely need to have a different mold, as would Rahne, but I'm thinking everyone else could probably use the same male or female body mold, just with different colors, and obviously different headsculpts and a few tooling pieces here or there.
Unless they wanted to go into the era where the outfits were more individualized. Which honestly, I'd rather have the original outfits than those. Moonstar's was okay but very stereotyped- but they made a point of doing so with her ties to her heritage so it did fit in the theme of the character. Otherwise wasn't really too into the outfits. Also in terms of team uniforms, would love to see the early 90's (pre-Gold/Blue era) X-Men training uniform team. They could get a ton of use out of a few molds. I'm sure at some point they'll redo the Wolverine since that was released nearly 15(!!!) years ago. Jubilee would require a different mold, but I think Storm/Psylocke and Forge/Banshee/Gambit could use the same female or male mold with some very basic tooling differences. |

@Redfox :
Did you sculpt the hair yourself? I used the Widow’s head painted blonde and painted her outfit black, but it’s not great. Re:New Mutants: From my favourite NM comic ever, I’d love to see a box set with this versions (won’t happen of course. |

100% on board with an 80s New Mutants set. Modern Magik is ok, but I really do want a classic version. I would love for it to have a chrome arm, but Hasbro definitely wouldn't do that. I also agree that a powered up Magma would be best.

Pete invited JJJ & Ned over to watch the Giants game, as has been the case these past 5 yrs, the Giants never fail to disappoint. After the game, JJ & Ned are arguing over who's at fault for the loss. Pete's just like, "This'll make page 1 for sure"!

No, I definitely do not have that kind of skill. It's just a hair swap with the Wave 2 ToyBiz Invisible Woman figure from the 2005 film.

Since there's no way I get another legend before midnight I'll share my favorites of the year.
Honorable mentions: Endgame Thanos vs Iron Man Infinity Saga two pack, they're two great figures but neither is 100% new so they aren't breaking into top 10. The Into the Spider-Verse figures all looked great but had some mechanical drawbacks. Modular Iron Man and all of the AoA wave were perfectly adequate and well made but lacked that extra "oomph." 10. Frog-Man, just a fun clever re-use of Doc Ock's body. Plus I like frogs, so yeah. 9. classic Thanos, the new body is well made and painted but I really wish his alternate head had actually been for this figure. 8. Xemnu, I love that we got him but his metal stomach coming off more like a belt on delivery holds him back. 7. MODOK, initially overpriced but a really great effort from Hasbro. 6. AoA Colossus, it's not my favorite version of the character but it is a quality toy and is one of those BAFs with next to no reused parts. 5. Iron Monger, limited articulation is made up for by sheer mass and just plain looking good. 4. Wandavision Scarlet Witch, it's based on concept art so it's not 100% accurate but the likeness is excellent and it still captures the look. 3. Endgame Thor, except for the powered Mjolnir looking cartoonish compared to Stormbreaker it's perfect. 2. High Evolutionary, been wanting him for years and he got a totally dedicated sculpt. 1. Ultron, 'nuff said. Best wave of the year: I'm slightly torn between the Stilt-Man wave and the AoA Colossus wave but I give the edge to the AoA wave. Most wanted for 2022: Deluxe Rhino Crystal and Lockjaw Death's Head Mephisto Annihilus Mr Knight Rachel Grey Wonder Man

Happy New Year, everyone! I hope that you all have a wonderful weekend and I hope 2022 is a better, happier, healthier year for everyone here.
As a side note, I saw that everyone was using the Build-A-Wave to make their own Marvel Legends wish-list fan art pictures and I decided to do my own take by using a free image editing site to make my own Marvel Legends wave. I picked an Avengers wave based on the art of George Perez, because we really, REALLY need one. What do you guys think? I've made a few other fan art pictures I'll share eventually if anyone's interested. Have a great weekend and stay safe, everyone. |

Awesome looking wave except I'd swap out Beast & Cap for classic YJ & 1st app Wonderman. Cap & Beast have been done enough. A 2 pack Perez Beast & Safari Jacket Wonderman is what I would want. |

Happy 2022, everyone! Thanks for all the comments so far. Any replies that don't automatically begin with a Jay Sherman "It stinks!" gif is a win in my book. I almost included safari jacket Wonder Man and Triathlon instead of Thor and Beast, but I just couldn't leave out any of the Big Three from the Avengers. Cap, Iron Man and Thor have been go-to characters, sure, but we've never had Perez versions of the characters and I couldn't pass including them. Plus, I'd love a classic Cap with a smiling head sculpt and accessories of his classic round shield without holes in it and his classic triangular shield as well. Thor could easily get a swappable bearded head to change things up and maybe a lightning effect for Mjolnir. And "Heroes Return" armor Iron Man is my most wanted version of the character that I want made into a new figure. I just think the "Return" armor looks great. I included Beast instead of Wonder Man because there are a lot of people who don't remember that Beast was an Avenger too and the idea of having a Perez style head for Beast was too good to pass up on. But yes, any version of Wonder Man, classic Yellowjacket and Justice all need figures A.S.A.P.
Since it's January now, I'm curious when we'll see our first Marvel Legends reveals for the year. Maybe the Avengers wave will be the next big reveal? I'd love to find out if the rumored classic U.S. Agent figure turns out to be real, as I'd love to add him to my collection. An updated classic purple-and-blue Hawkeye with pointed wings on his mask would be very much appreciated too, Hasbro. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and stay safe, everyone. I'm kind of wondering about that US Agent too. Outside of that and the rumored Wolverine wave from several years back (most of which have now been made), I think we've pretty much seen everything pan out, though we're still waiting for that Hawkeye it's not been too long running of a rumor. Now that we've seen some figures for a West Coast Avengers retro wave, I wonder if they'll still squeeze him in somewhere, or if it's a case of them not wanting to do a comic character of a new MCU character to avoid confusion. I'm thinking our first reveals for the year may well be some of that Avengers wave. I think since the X-Men wave rumors were correct, the rumors for that line up are as well. The source has been extremely reliable. Even though it's mostly going to be things I'm going to pass on, getting Blue Marvel and an updated Madame Hydra will be great. |
