Just out of weird curiosity, what is the most you have spent for a single Marvel Legends figure?
For me it was the Wallgreens Human Torch in a mint card off of an Amazon listing. I put him off for years but finally pulled the trigger and completed the Wallgreens Fantastic Four set a few months ago. $75.13 for Johnny Storm! |

Unsure but the most memorable was $50 for Terrax only to have the USPS fumble the delivery and refuse to pay out the insurance claim. On the plus side, I ended up buying the entire wave MIB later for a steal and was even able to help out a fellow Ark member with the piece they needed from the duplicate pieces I already obtained.
Also not surprised USPS refused to pay the insurance claim. Their insurance is one step away from fraud. My dad sent me a package years ago of my MOC GI Joes from the Valor vs Venom era and the box arrived mangled with a big hole in it, 3 packages were missing from the box due to the hole, while more than half of the others had their cards so damaged I had to open them, but the post office refused to accept responsibility for it since I did not open it in front of them (never even thought of it as I was too freaked out by what the box looked like) despite my dad putting $1000 insurance on the box.

Looks like Amazon is starting early with the price hike. They have the retro Scar Witch and White Vision for $25.99 on their website.
https://twitter.com/preterniadotcom/...91451208032263 Checking Amazon it so far its only those two figures most of the others are still $22.99 |

^ Need that Scarlet Witch because my 3 pack one had misaligned eyes... but damn, having to spend an extra 25 bucks just because I had bad luck with paint apps sux big time.
Also my Target did a reset and Wong had his own peg... which was empty. I bet if Wong had come in the first Dr. Strange movie wave he would have pegwarmed as bad as Mordo did, but now years later he is a beloved movie character and a must have fig for any MCU display. |

Hit 3 Targets today, all I see is empty pegs of the retro line. I lucked out last week finding a lone Shocker but am having zero luck finding Hammerhead & Black Costume Spidey & I ain't paying damn scalper prices for them! Bad enough These are already getting a price hike as is.

As for a regular figure, I remember dropping 50 bucks on Toxin back when Legends figures were released as "variant figure" running changes, instead of being a normal release whenever a wave would drop. Never regretted it as I saw plenty of Carnage, but never once ran into Toxin at any of my local stores. So glad Hasbro did away with that "variant running change' chase figure crap... |

I found these two on clearance today at Target for $6.
Also picked up a pair to donate to Toys for Tots at the end of the year. Hoping maybe my Target that had 16 Things a few weeks ago will have him on clearance as well.

Sue is the only one that enjoys Reed's elongated fingers but for the rest of us, that is a stupid effect for Hasbro to have given him, The guy can make giant Fists or sledgehammer fists, but no, let's give him his extracurricular stretchy fingers cuz we all know that Dr Doom fears those most of all!

Wow... nice Spidey pick-ups Robb! One of my bigger collecting regrets is not keeping that Captain Universe Spidey... for some reason I returned him to buy a different figure instead... which I tend to do a lot, but sometimes that works out for me... like I returned a Sandman wave Black Spidey to get the white 2099 Spidey instead... and now that the Retro Black Spidey came out I think I made the right call.

-Eternals on clearance -AoA Wave 2 on clearance -retro FF on clearance - the sporadic release of the retro Spiderman wave figures -Multiverse of Madness wave is beginning to drop. I've found on Wong in my area but no one else. I've also started seeing more reviews for the 20th Anniversary Captain America. The last time I checked, Robot Kingdom had a ship date of February 1st while most retailers here in the US say April to June. Hopefully Cap is right around the corner. And for some reason several Walmarts in my area now have the Rogue/Pyro two pack in stock. |

Found a whole case of the new retro spidey assortment at Walmart yesterday. My only "must get" figures of the wave are Shocker and black suit Spidey so obviously I scooped them up. I passed on the previous retro Spidey because I was still let down by the elbow pin color mismatch which I feel like one day they'll do right, and then something felt a little off about the head. So this is my first Spidey on the new body and while it's pretty quality it only feels like a slight improvement in the grand scheme, this speaks to just how well the line has been going thus far so I'm not complaining. This has always been my favorite (or sometimes second favorite) costume of his though so I've got no qualms with having him three times now from Hasbro. It's nice to have all the spidey hands at once for this look too instead of having to get them from multiple releases. Shocker is another totally new dedicated sculpt for a villain (he is in fact in the same tier as Dr Doom and Kang so he merits it) but they did sacrifice wrist articulation down to just a swivel to better serve the aesthetics of the toy. I still don't think the Kirby crackle effects are a great fit to the character but they already made an entirely new figure so I guess new effect pieces were out of the question. I don't think it's fair to compare this figure to the Sandman BAF wave version since they each represent totally different looks for the guy but Shocker's one of my favorite Spidey villains so I appreciate the classic version along with the modern.

Im Hoping they redo the Toy Biz Tarantula in a Spidey retro wave soon. Im running out of room on my spider-villans shelf though.
What villans would make a good addition to the retro waves? Last edited by Starlord67; 01-30-2022 at 10:30 PM.. |

He would be a deluxe like Kingpin and therefore not in a wave but Rhino for sure. They could do Kraven in retro packaging as a consolation for people who missed out on the Target two pack.
For non-Spidey characters I think a deluxe classic Blastaar to compliment the retro FF wave would be neat. Annihilus also feels in need of an update.

Last day for voting in the Fwoosh top 10 post. From the looks of things Banshee should be an easy #1 (no surprise since he was last year as well), and I think it's exciting that Count Nefaria may POSSIBLY make the top 10. Or if not, very very close.

For most of my childhood, I couldn't understand why people would want a civilian figure. But I was a kid who played with my toys. Now, I see so many opportunities for some cool displays with civilian characters. Bring them on! Aunt May, Flash, whoever. I'd dig it! I'm putting an unmasked Daredevil head on a suited body just to add to that display now. Maybe that's just me.

- Chameleon (smoking jacket; preferably loaded with alternate heads for civilians unlikely to get a dedicated figure). - Lizard (classic; rumored but I’ll keep him on the list until confirmed). - Kraven (bright orange, laser nipples) - Beetle (silver age) - Crime-Master (would pegwarm like nothing we’ve ever seen… except maybe the Eternals). - Molten Man - Blackie Drago Vulture - Morbius (classic needs a rerelease) - Punisher (first appearance) - Jackal - Will O’ The Wisp - Swarm - Carrion - The Spot - Jack O’ Lantern - Boomerang (bronze age, “Deadly Foes” look) … Will O’ The Wisp might work better in a BAF wave, but he’d do well at off-setting the tooling cost of someone like Swarm. I also feel like a good way to keep putting red & blue Spidey out is to base figures on specific artists. Like, I’d buy the absolute hell out of a specifically John Romita Senior or Ross Andru figure. |
