The supposed BAF wave schedule for the year. Pretty much what's expected though I'm surprised to see Retro Iron Man was a wave. Hopefully we learn more on that soon. |

Seems like very little X-men this year... probably Toad and one X-wave that is not exactly full of heavy hitters with an obscure BAF.

At first, this seems like a pretty light Marvel Legends year compared to 2021. But then I forgot about the Fan Channel releases for Spider-Man and other M.L. waves, the X-Men Animated Series figures online, and that we're getting more Marvel Legends 20th anniversary figures beyond the original four Series 1 wave figures. I'm curious to see what the 20th anniversary and 60th anniversary Spider-Man figures will be like. That said, I'm a bit surprised there's no Fantastic Four wave on this list. Maybe we'll get a few more Fan Channel solo figures? Characters like Mole Man, Wizard, Crystal, Trapster, trenchcoat-and-hat Thing, etc. would be nice additions.
Also, did anyone else catch Rektangular's news from his video two days ago? It's rumored that this summer we might get a new 60th anniversary Spider-Man figure of Spider-Man from the old 1970s live-action TV series. If that's true, I can't wait to add it to my collection! I hope we get a Marvel Legends two-pack of Bill Bixby as Dr. David Banner and Lou Ferrigno as The Incredible Hulk, or even a three pack with Jack Colvin's Jack McGee! I'm keeping my fingers crossed we'll get surprised with some new Hulk 60th anniversary figures this year beyond the Marvel Legends 20th Anniversary Hulk figure. I hope you all are having a great day and have a wonderful weekend. Stay safe, my friends. |

Are you sure this X-Men Wave is not the Bonebreaker wave?

X-Men wave is definitely the Bonebreaker one. If past years are any indication there will however likely be some X-Men store exclusives and box sets. Last year after all was the X-Force set, the Amazon Wolverine set with Cyber, Callisto and Mastermind, and the Excalibur set.

I'm waiting for the following X-Men characters to be made into Marvel Legends figures.
1. Wolfsbane (90s X-Factor) 2. Banshee (Giant Size) 3. Morph (90s cartoon no cel shading) 4. Magma (X-Men Legends video game de-powered) 5. Spyke (X-Men Evolution) 6. Avalanche (Mystique's Brotherhood) 7. Blob (Mystique's Brotherhood) 8. Abyss (Age of Apocalypse) 9. Mikhail (Age of Apocalypse) 10. Holocaust/Nemesis (Age of Apocalypse) |

No second X-Men wave surprising, but hopefully as mentioned we'll get some packs and box sets. I may be on outlier on this opinion, but i hope we DON'T get a GSXM pack. Banshee is only one we would really need, and I don't want to have to buy 5/6 other figures just to get him.
Maybe instead we'll get a BOEM II set like I've been saying for 2-3 years now. Avalanche, Blob, Destiny and Mystique (since the Pyro/Rogue set was far easier to find than Walgreen's Mystique). Or just make it a 6 pack with FA Rouge and all the above. Or if they really cut corners just Destiny, Blob and classic Avalanche (like the Nimrod/Psylocke/Fantomex pack, 2 regular and 1 large figure) The team has filled in a lot of missing characters in the X-Men corner of Marvel since 2016, but there's still some critical things missing. if we're only getting one X-men wave this year (and IMO a fairly half and half lackluster wave too), the packs need to be really great, not Wolverine centric and randomness (Random would be okay though) or a lot of repaint/low effort releases. When did Hasbro say there wouldn't be another X-Men wave?

Hasbro hasn't said anything but Rektangular's leaks claim that there will only be one this year, that being the Bonebreaker wave.

Then I hope those are wrong because it's going to suck going through another year without Banshee to complete my GS team. Not to mention I'm still waiting for them to complete Mystique's Brotherhood.

If these leaks hold up, it’s seeming like a light year for me. Rumors floating around on the Fwoosh suggest the following:
60th Anniversary Spider-Man Series: SPD 60 comic Knull & Venom 2 pk SPD 60 spiderverse Penny Parker & SP//DR 2 pk SPD 60 MCU Homecoming Peter Parker & Ned 2 pk SPD 60 comic Spineret & Spider-Man 2pk SPD 60 Comic Iron Spider SPD 60 Japanese Spider Man SPD 60 Comic Amazing Fantasy #15 Spider Man SPD 60 The Animated series Spider Man SPD 60 Retro Card Classic Lizard (Walmart) As well as this alternate leaked list: 1. Future Foundation Spider-Man 2. Iron Spider 3. Spider-Man and Spinneret 4. Homecoming Ned and Peter 5. Penni Parker and Spider-Man Noir 6. Knull and Venom 7. 1970 show Spider-Man (Fan Channel) 8. Tobey Spider-Man (Target Exclusive) 9. Lizard (Walmart Exclusive US) 10. Spider-Woman and Silk (Amazon Exclusive) … and a special series of single-carded rereleases of Black Panther, Killmonger, Nakia, & Shuri (the first of the two Black Panther waves). The other Black Panther wave is apparently five movie figures and two comic figures (Black Panther & Hatut Zeraze). |

I would probably get the Toei Spider-Man and the Amazing Fantasy one depending if they are easy to find and what body mold they use. That list lacks a serious amount of villains though, so I hope that's false.

As a life-long Spider-Man fan, these rumored line-ups stink and I sincerely hope they're proven false. Lizard is the only classic villain for this year?!? No Chameleon? No Rhino? No Doc Ock of any kind?!? And most of the figures are of more modern Spidey storylines? With no offense intended to those who like the stories, I don't care about Future Foundation Spidey and Iron Spider. Also, as someone who cannot stand the Marc Webb films, making a Tobey Maguire Spider-Man figure and not an Andrew Garfield one doesn't seem fair to me.
The only figures on the list I would buy would be Spinneret and Spider-Man two-pack, Amazing Fantasy Spidey, Animated Series Spidey, 70s series Spidey, the Walmart exclusive Lizard and Tobey's Spider-Man, and even that is depending on not only which rumored figures are actually real, but which pre-orders I'd even be able to get since Wal-Mart and Target are lousy with pre-orders. This list of 60th anniversary is so bad, I'm already looking forward to what 2023 has in store just to get this mess out of my mind. Mainly because I was expecting more. More villains (DOC OCK, PLEASE!!!), more civilian characters, and, well, more thought put into it. Nothing about this list seems really exciting or keeping my interest to buy a majority of the line like most Spider-Man waves usually do. The Retro waves have kept my interest way more than these rumored 60th anniversary lists. Thanks for reading my two cents (which is two cents more than my opinions are actually worth). I hope you all have a great day and stay safe, everyone. |

I hope you all have a great day and stay safe, everyone. It seems odd how they’re handling the entire line-up. The choice in movie figures is suspect, given the overwhelming popularity of NWH, I would expect tons of figures based on that & the Raimi/ Webb films. Ditto on which figures I’d purchase, although I’m less interested in Toei Spidey & animated Spidey. I’d have to see how they look. Especially given that these may well be at the new $32.99 anniversary price-point of the ML twentieth anniversary figures (Jesus, how pricey will that make the two-packs?). It just seems like a series of strange choices, and like a lot of the line lately, seems out of touch with what fans actually want. I’ve gotten really fed up lately with how bizarre the choices that have been made are (like the Bonebreaker wave or the 20th Anniversary figures). It feels like the team is giving us a lot of what they want, and are just assuming we’ll buy whatever because the line has been selling so well. Which would suggest they’re right, but like, I have to imagine there’s a line. I was just thinking about how little I bought this year, and it’s disappointing. I used to have so much more enthusiasm for what they were putting out, and the current line just… isn’t doing it for me. Rising prices aren’t helping either. My pipe-dream was a (probably SDCC/ Pulse) Daily Bugle set with some combination of Peter Parker, Robbie Robertson, Betty Brant, Glory Grant, Ned Leeds, Eddie Brock, & Ben Urich. |

Even if I'm not in the market for all of them, I don't really see any glaringly out of touch choices here. Toku Spider-Man is excellent meme fodder so I knew Hasbro would be getting to him eventually, fans have been asking for Iron Spider forever, and this year is the 20th anniversary of the first Raimi movie so I'm not sure why a Tobey figure would be out of the question. Even Future Foundation Spidey is one I've seen a fair number of fans asking for on an updated body with better articulation, since the original was coming out in the early post-dark days of Hasbro'tenture and thus had a lot of limitations. As for the lack of NWH stuff, that's likely what the BAF wave will be for. Last edited by hasbroherofan; 01-16-2022 at 12:21 PM.. |

Personally id rather see characters who havent been made get a shot instead of athousand different versions of spiderman etc. may include a spidey in a wave or two but all these different versions just take up a slot that a character whos never got a chance ( longshot, ricochet, hybrid, tarantula come to mind ) get a shot. I get people want a lizard but the baf was a good classic lizard, for me at least.
Marvel has sucha wealth of characters from all lists ( abcd etc ) to draw from its just sad to see so many slots wasted on this costume or that costume for major characters, which i get hasbro thinks are the key sellers but do we really need 7 different apiderman costumes in one year?

Harbinger sums up what I was going to say really well. Spidey is my all-time favorite fictional character (Marvel or otherwise), so it’s just disappointing that this sixtieth anniversary collection is largely alternate costumes.
On a personal level, the figures are just unexciting to me as a collector. It doesn’t cross of any of my major wants, and is instead a few “yeah, maybe” figures and some “eh, if I saw it on clearance.” The exception being Lizard, who I would be excited for, except for the fact that he’s a Walmart exclusive. Also, does anyone else find it odd that the Tobey McGuire Spider-Man is a Target exclusive? That feels lunkheaded given the massive demand for that figure. I’d argue that there’s more demand for him than for any of the mass retail figures in this series. Last edited by Ultra Seven; 01-16-2022 at 12:37 PM.. |

Sure. But there’s a difference between “This doesn’t appeal to me personally” and “Nobody wants this,” particularly in anecdotal cases. As I already said, I’ve seen quite a few people over the years voice a desire for a Legends Iron Spider, so that doesn’t stand out to me as a bizarre choice only the Hasbro team wants, for instance.

But I do concede that I’m guilty of the classic collector conflation: “I don’t want it, so no one does.” On a different note, this guy is doing great work, and I’d love to see some of these characters/ figures: https://www.instagram.com/that_fig_life/ Last edited by Ultra Seven; 01-16-2022 at 01:05 PM.. |

If that Tobey Spider-man is legit that would be a big mistake to make it an exclusive. But I know Hasbro loves screwing us over when they get the chance.
Excited to see what's in the Thor Love and Thunder Wave and I hope Okoye shows up in the Wakanda forever wave. Also excited with that D+ wave 3 that Clint won't be in a two pack with Kate so I can just get him for my Avengers shelf Last edited by ThorOdinson123; 01-16-2022 at 01:10 PM.. |
