Sorry I'm a little late in reporting this, but it looks like the Green Lantern movie figures were put out at the TRU in Cary on Saturday (they weren't there Friday afternoon but were there Saturday afternoon). They had a combination of 3 3/4-inch and collector-scale stuff, along with some of the role-play and other items. The 3 3/4-inch figures are also out at the Walmart in Cary...I saw them at lunch yesterday in a display leaning up against an unrelated aisle (the pool stuff of all places). They weren't priced and they weren't in the system yet. Walmart had the single-packed Hal Jordan, Solar Saw Hal Jordan, Abin Sur, Kilowog, Stel (concept figure), a purple Godzilla-looking guy (can't recall the name), and a stone guy (can't recall the name). In addition to these at Walmart, TRU had Sinestro, the Green Man and a green translucent (Max Charge) Hal Jordan. I also saw some of the deluxe 3 3/4-inch versions and the Parallax versus Hal 2-pack at TRU. Walmart did NOT have the Walmart-exclusive Guardian 2-packs. I've been to two different Targets in Cary and Raleigh and no sign of the stuff there.
I realize this isn't really the place for a review, but just a few quick observations...I'm a 3 3/4-inch guy so of course I picked up all of the assortment that Walmart had (Walmart prices were $6.97 compared to $8.99 at TRU). I see what everybody's saying about the articulation (it's not much better than vintage Star Wars) but the sculpting is really pretty good and the paint app is surprisingly decent and consistent when you're standing there comparing copies of the same figure. And the lack of articulation may actually be a plus since a lot of the articulation on the Infinite Crisis figures were a little iffy. They actually look really, really good displayed loose on the shelf, especially with the constructs in place (although I felt it necessary to switch some around amongst the characters). Ironically, all of the awkward aliens stand up really well but the humans all fall over backwards, and there's no way they're standing up on their own with some of the constructs in place. Most of the figures seem to have peg holes though and fortunately the blue DC Universe Infinite Crisis display stands worked perfectly with my humans and one of the aliens. All-in-all I'm pleased and plan to keep buying up the 3 3/4-inch stuff as I see it. Last edited by mj3141x; 05-03-2011 at 07:05 PM.. |

Found a new wave of vintage Star Wars figures today at the Walmart beside Triangle Town Center in Raleigh. They had four Ep. II figures (Obi-Wan, Senate Guard, Fi-Ek Sirch and Clone Trooper), one Ep. III figure (AT-RT Driver) and two Ep. VI figures (General Lando and Weequay). I also found the new vintage 3-packs at the Target at North Hills tonight. They were $19.99 each.
The target at North Hills is also the first Target I've seen with the Green Lantern stuff out. They had very few of the single packed figures, but they had a bunch of the Target exclusive light-up versions. I also found a few of the new Dark of the Moon Transformers at the Walmart on New Hope Church Road yesterday...they had a deluxe Bumblebee, a deluxe Ratchet and the Optimus Prime bonus pack. The Target at North Hills had gutted their Transformers section (putting all their old stock on clearance on an end cap) and they had the pegs set up for the new stuff with a big sign saying "look for something new coming soon." |

The Super Walmart next to Triangle Town Center in Raleigh looked like a Hasbro warehouse today. They have tons of the new Transformers stuff, Captain America (but only Comic Series), fresh cases of vintage-style Star Wars and Clone Wars, and they also had one of the best Green Lantern selections I've seen yet: they had the Guardian 2-packs (but only sets 1-3 of 6), the Walmart-exclusive helicopter construct that breaks apart into 12 individual construct weapons, battle packs that had four GL figures w/constructs from the single-packed line, vehicles, deluxe figures, role play and all the other stuff. No new GI Joe though.
The Super Target behind Triangle Town Center had more Captain America than Walmart but still only Comic Series and Concept Series (single-packed and deluxe) and they also had three different vehicles...two medium-size armored vehicles and a bigger headquarters vehicle. They also had new Transformers and the Target-exclusive vintage Star Wars 3-packs. No new GI Joe there either. The Kmart around the corner on Capital had pretty much all of the above with the addition of the Kmart-exclusive Green Lantern/Hal Jordan test pilot battle pack. The Walmart on Highway 64 in Raleigh has a pretty good assortment of vintage-carded Attack of the Clones figures if anyone's interested, along with the new Return of the Jedi (General Lando, Weequay, etc.) and Revenge of the Sith (AT-RT) figures as well.

Found the new wave of GI Joe's at the Walmart at Brier Creek in Raleigh tonight! They had at least two of each figure and three of a couple. I got Crazy Legs, Iron Grenadier and Rock Viper. They also had Croc Master, Viper and the temple guardian Snake Eyes which I passed on. They were $6.97 each though...someone on HissTank said their local Walmart had them ringing up for $3.50 but I wasn't that lucky!
The same Walmart also had Series 2 of the Pirates of the Caribbean figures, with the zombie and gunner figures. The zombie was actually kind of cool. |

Saw a couple of the Wave 5 Croc Master at the Walmart on New Hope Church Road in Raleigh tonight.
They also had a pretty decent assortment of vintage-carded Star Wars (Dagobah Landing Luke on the Empire card, Attack of the Clones, etc.). |

Saw the Walmart-exclusive Deluxe Class Transformers (Optimus Prime, Sideswipe and one other I think) at the Walmart at Brier Creek today. They also had the movie-style Thundercracker.
Saw the Target-exclusive Voyager Class Transformers (Ratchet and Starscream) at the Target in Cary tonight (on an end cap around the corner from the regular Transformers aisle). The Ross behind Triangle Town Center had a bunch of good GI Joe stuff today (Polar SHARC, Lava Pod, City Strike Flight Pod, Cobra Fury, etc.) if you're still looking for any of that. No Reveal the Shield Transformers though. |

They have a bunch of Reveal the Shield Transformers at the TJ Maxx at Beaver Creek in Apex. Sadly I couldn't find a Grapple or a Windcharger but they had a pretty impressive collection of other figures ranging from Leader Class all the way down to Legends. The only one I picked up was a Legends Class Gold Bumblebee. They also had some Pursuit of Cobra stuff as well.
The Target at Beaver Creek had a new T3 Voyager Class figure I haven't seen before...Fireburst Optimus Prime. They also had the Target-exclusive Starscream, movie-style Thundercracker and some of the other don't-see-everyday figures. |

Found the new wave of Green Lantern vehicles (Abin Sur's Space Pod and Hal Jordan's Cosmic Cycle) at the Walmart in Cary today. One thing in particular I thought was exciting was the fact that the next wave of 3 3/4-inch figures were pictured on the back of the packaging. I'm really hoping (especially the way the movie's been received so far) that more figures will actually see the light of day at local retail.
I also found more Movie Series Captain America figures at the Walmart at Triangle Town Center in Raleigh last night. |

Saw today that Target is dropping the price for the super charged (light up) versions of Hal Jordan, Sinestro and Abin Sur to $7.99, which is actually not bad considering that's a standard price point for most single-packed action figures. If they drop the price a little more I might pick them up just for the constructs.

Found the new single pack 3 3/4-inch Tomar-Re and Galius Zed (big face guy) at the Target in Wake Forest today. No sign of the two new Hal's or Max Charge Kilowog though.

The Target in Apex has several of the Captain America Movie Series Deluxe Hydra Soldiers. Happily it was only $9.99 though. I had heard reports from others that they had paid $14.99 for theirs, but that may have been at Toys R Us.

I've seen tons of the new wave of 3 3/4-inch single packed Lantern figures at the Walmart in Cary and the Walmart at Triangle Town Center in Raleigh (Tomar Re, Gailius Zed, Max Charge Kilowog, Hal Jordan w/battle damage, Hal Jordan without mask). At both locations the new stuff was around the corner on end caps since the regular aisles are still filled with the older stuff.

Just found the latest wave of vintage-style Star Wars figures at the TRU in Cary (Han Solo, ARC Trooper Commander, Logray, Barriss Offee, Rebel Fleet Trooper and Bom Vimdin) and also a few from the last wave (Jango Fett, etc.).

Found the Generations Thundercracker and Warpath at the Target at North Hills tonight. No Wheeljack though.
But, found a Wheeljack at the Target in Apex. They had two and also had a Warpath. Last edited by mj3141x; 07-08-2011 at 09:34 AM.. |

Saw some new Dark of the Moon figures at the Target in Cary yesterday. They had a Deluxe Class Bumblebee with Cybertronian markings and an Arcee with Cybertronian markings. They were both Target exclusives and I believe they were on sale for $10.99 I think. They had a large supply of both, although fewer Arcee's than Bumblebee's.

Just found the new Kmart exclusive B-Wing Fighter in the vintage box at the Kmart in Cary. They weren't out on the floor yet but there was a guy stocking a nearby aisle and he was cool enough to pull a case from the back out of a shipment they had just received. There were two in the case but I only bought one. It was $39.99.

Found the Voyager Class Sentinel Prime at the TRU Express at Triangle Town Center in Raleigh tonight. Obviously the Leader Class is everywhere, but this is the first Voyager Class I've seen locally. It was $19.99.
And if anyone's interested, they had a whole shelf full of Terminator 4 Hunter-Killer vehicles (which includes a Terminator figure) on clearance for $2.50. |

Found a Solar Storm Grapple at the Ross at Brier Creek in Raleigh tonight. I've been seeing Lug Nuts, Deep Dives and other Reveal the Shield figures all over town for the last couple of weeks I guess but this is the first Grapple I've been able to get my hands on. Now I just need a Windcharger to go with it!

Found a G.I. Joe Skystriker at the Target at North Hills tonight. They only had one (which of course I bought!) but they had several of the 12" Joes in the same style packaging and quite a few Thundercrackers, Wheeljacks and Warpaths over in the Transformers section.
The 5 Below behind Triangle Town Center had a ton of the Legends Class Reveal the Shield Transformers today (classic-style Optimus Prime, Megatron, Starscream and Gold Bumblebee) for $3 each I think. They also had a ton of the old TRON 2.0 figures from 2003 (the really big ones). The packaging was absolutely mint/case-fresh. I was a little surprised to see that for some reason. |
