pledged of $65,000 goal 342 backers 45 days to go How does something like this get that much backing so quickly? Not saying there's anything wrong with this project. Just wondering who this appeals to, they aren't realistic enough to go with most 1/12th scale stuff. |

To their credit the figs are very well done, offer a good amount of variety, plenty of accessories, and an oddly high level of articulation. They look retail ready and put to shame a fair amount of things currently on the shelves. That said I'm not the target audience for this. |

To anyone more familiar with navigating these Kickstarter waters, I'd be looking at waiting about a year after it's funded before actually getting my loot, yea? That's assuming they don't shit the bed. |

^This. People like cute, and I've never seen a Kickstarter offering cute themed goblin things before. Plenty of generic military men, ninjas, monsters and the like, (most of which fail). But this is new and interesting and distinct so I can understand why its generating a lot of interest.

Yes, that's generally the rule of thumb; one year from funding to doorstep. First timers can hit some snags causing delays of a few months to half a year. But seasoned kickstarters, like Four Horsemen, are usually under a year.

Backerkits went out today!
I'm stoked for these personally, they are different and unique, yet iconic enough to be goblins in any scenario. I love that they created the hatchlings too. That way instead of having a bag of unused accessories I will have more figures on display! I get that these are not for everyone, but I think they were successful because they didn't try to appeal to one group of collectors or try to supplement a specific already established brand. They instead gave a fun theme to the Goblin figures they created. I once wanted to get the goblin figures from Four Horsemen, but they are too detailed to fall into any other collection other than Mythic Legions. Plus I didn't want to have to purchase other figures just to justify picking up their goblins. |
