Hell yeah. trying to keep this thread alive. Revoltech pred is amazing. I can't spend 80 on him though.
LM: what alien is that in the middle? hybrid? I'm planning on getting that (falconeer?) and hound at some point along with the 2008 SDCC half cloaked predator. I love the classic predator, when I went to my local toy shop they had the normal and battle damaged version for the same price. Snatched that one. then they make the TRU cloaked classic. I can't wait for the next wave. I love that batman pic with the predator. errr all those pics are hilarious |

It's not predator, but my updated NECA shelf. I moved my t-1000 to the back. I don't like him. Made room for grunt. I'm getting a shelf for just video game characters.

I've heard and seen reviews on the joints being frozen and/or broken on some of these figures. Has anyone tried using a lubricant like WD-40 to get around this problem?

I'm fond of heat. Just a blow dryer usually fixes any stiffness. I've left figures in my truck all day for the same effect. In phoenix the inside of a vehicle can get 130

I opened my Snake Predator package today. The right knee just didn't want to move initially but it's ok now. I don't doubt that it gets to 130 in Phoenix. I've seen those dust storms are really flaring up on the news, bad stuff man. I am currently experimenting with Protech stands to help keep my Predators from falling over. The stands I'm using were made for pre-1995 Star Wars 3.75" figures but Predator was also listed. So far they seem to be working well on all of them except for my unmasked City Hunter Predator, he still wants to tip over occasionally. His ankle joints don't seem to have any staying power. I am using two stands each for each figure, one for each foot. It just didn't seem safe to only use one stand for just one foot. (edit) Here's the link for the stands I'm using. http://www.collectingwarehouse.com/s.nl/it.A/id.3583/.f You have to buy 20 of them to meet their minimum $7.50 requirement but if you have a lot of Predators that shouldn't be a big deal.

The cloaked version is, but the classic itself will run you about 30 at a comic or toy shop. I got my battle damaged version for 22.

The only one I've seen in stores recently is the TRU exclusive cloaked Classic Predator. It's available for purchase on their website too.

Or if you're after the Series 3 masked version you can go on Urban Collector's website and purchase it along with Elder Predator and the Predator Hound for about $50 shipped.

Cool. The masked Classic is the one I really wanted the most in my Predator collection. Seeing him for the first time back in 1987 when the original movie came out was really something.

LOL, no worries man. Trust me, it was good.
A bit of bad news to report. I was preparing to shoot a review on Elder Predator and it looks like the right arm is broken in package. I contacted Urban Collector and sent pics of the damage as requested. I've also sent an e-mail to NECA customer service about it. I haven't tried extracting the other two out of their packages yet because if I get an even exchange I'm thinking they'll probably want the other two figures shipped back too as it was a package deal.

The Elder Predator is the first one that I've gotten that had a broken joint. Other reviews on Youtube have clearly shown that the Elder Predator and the masked Classic Predator (both from series 3) have had issues with joints in various spots, notably the elbows and left knee. The Elder Predator I received had a broken right elbow joint. It's also worth noting that the hoses on the arms also break, but that can be fixed with crazy glue. The series 3 masked Classic Predator I got from Urban Collector easily has the stiffest joints I've ever seen on a figure in any scale; even the wrist blades and plasma caster joint were stuck when I got him out of packaging. The articulation points are starting to loosen up a bit now but you have to exercise extreme caution with the earlier Predator figures when breaking in the joints. If it doesn't want to move, back away from it or else it will probably snap like a twig. Even on this masked Classic Predator I'm still gun-shy about trying to pose this figure because I don't want the joints to break. Allegedly NECA had the earlier Predators (series 1-3) manufactured in a different factory than the one they're currently using. That's what they claim led to the joint breaking issues IIRC. If I were in NECA's shoes, I would be giving some serious thought to re-releasing the older Predators with improved joints. This problem with frozen joints is ridiculous, especially when you're paying $20+ for one of them. With the price point that Toys R Us and other online websites charge they'd likely make their money back easily and then some if they re-released them. As it is, I've had to re-consider getting earlier Predator figures due to what I've recently run into with these ultra stiff joints on this masked Classic Predator. It's a shame because there are some out there that I would like to get like the unmasked Berserker Predator from series 2.

I did get an e-mail from Urban Collector. I sent them pictures of the damaged Elder Predator and they've agreed to an even exchange to replace the figure. I don't have to return the other two that I received along with the Elder Predator.
