NICE!!
But the Head-to-body proportions look off. Heads should be a bit smaller for that 'SUPER ROBOT' look.
That's about the right price if they are the 24" scale of the old school shogun warrior toys from the 70's.
Considering we are getting a Voltron toon/movie plus Gaiking live-action film, then I expect to see more of this type of product.

Looking at the mouths of the lions it looks like one piece of plastic with no opening in the mouth. If these are just non-transforming Vinyl they can keep it for $200

I'll just wait for the "revival" figures to be released.

Yep, non-transforming. I don't know if Toynami plans to make a MPC Dairugger XV, that would be pretty neat. Their Voltron plastic MPC in metallic colors is cool, I got one last year.

Technically they did..twice.

The 1st MPC Voltron was diecast and $150. There were complaints of loose joints under the weight of the diecast, and broken arm tabs.

A plastic version was released(mine is called the "metallic" version due to paint despite not having any diecast metal), which does not have the broken arm tab issues and the joints are not as loose due to less weight. This one was $60+ and well worth it.

Both are over a foot tall.

I was actually referring to Dairugger... I have the plastic version of the MPC Voltron mold and quite like it but the pictures posted seem to be just big vinyl toys and I don't want a big vinyl toy but something that CAN be transformed and posed in a cool way. is that so much to ask for 200 bucks?probably closer to 300 for me as I have to import the damn thing.....

Dude I'd love to see a Dairugger XV, and I HOPE it would be less than $200 if Toynami decides to go for it. World Events and Toynami seem to be throwing a lot of support behind Dairugger so..hopefully we see some toys.

and if we do... please, PLEASE no cheapass vinyls...I hated Action Masters when they came out in G1, I LOATHE nontransforming valkyries, why the hell would I buy a Dairugger that`s not transforming? heck, I`d take a cheap toy like the 1/100 valkries Toynami makes. I love those little guys.

I would love a transforming Dairugger XV to go with my MPC Voltron. But I'm with you guys...at $200 a pop for a throwback vinyl figure that doesn't transform or have any apparent gimmicks (launching helicopter blades, anyone?), I will definitely pass.

I really wish I had taken better care of my diecast 6"-ish Dairugger XV that I got in England as a kid. Last I knew, all that was left was the head and it got sold at a yard sale for about 25 pence.

I can deal with the Revoltech non-transforming valks, they are fun. The Revoltech TF's though...yeah I don't know about those, but for the most part I am with you, I'm not a big fan of non-transforming toys of transforming mecha.

As for the Toynami 1/100's, I'd like them more if the polycaps didn't bust so easily and if they were made better. Fun to pose in battroid for sure. However I think for my tastes, the VF HI METAL by Bandai is for me.

I actually had the 80's Dairugger XV. It was pretty cool. With all the hype World Events threw behind the Dairugger XV releases, I hope this is a sign that a Toynami MPC is coming out.

To avoid issues with Mattel, Toynami just needs to opt for a Dairugger XV license instead of a Vehicle Voltron one.

Hi guys, I was googling around for news on the Dairugger XV jumbo and came across this post.
Thanks for posting these pics.
Sadly, I agree that for the money, if these pictures are the intended final product, I'm going to pass. the box art is pretty sweet... And it's great to see them using the correct names of the characters, Beast King Go Lion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV.

Did toynami confirm that these are production? Are these just test molds or vinyl mock ups?

I'm not sure why Toynami took the direction they did with these pieces.
Especially when there is already a perfect Go Lion Jumbo in existence.
It came out in 1983 or 84 in America and was part of the LJN toyline.
Known as Voltron Giant Commander in the US.
Popy originally released this piece as well, and, like most things imported from Japan, The Japanese version is considerably better. The American version is nothing to scoff at, but it lacks the missile holders on the legs, and of course, the missile firing ability of the red and green lions.

Given this already PERFECT specimen, Dairugger should have been molded accordingly.
This way a new Dairugger Jumbo would fit right in with an existing vintage collection, something I desperately want.

Here's some images of Commander Voltron, which in my opinion is what should have been re-released. Maybe next go round?

All in their happy home.

Hey man, welcome aboard, and thanks for posting that. I'm not sure if Toynami sought after the original Jumbo Machinder molds that are most likely in Bandai's hands at this point. Another question is, are the molds even around, and if so, are they in usable condition?

I never knew that the Go Lion Jumbo Machinder had a sword, that is pretty cool.

I am not sure if Tamashii(Bandai) did any work on the upcoming Toynami Voltron Shogun Warriors. However, I wouldn't be surprised if these new Shogun Warriors are meant to be more in-line with Tamashii's Neo Jumbo Machinder Shin Mazinger Z.

Glad you liked the pics.
I too, am not a fan of the new "jumbo" stuff.
It seems to be more of a size issue and less of a aesthetic.

At least some of the japanese vinyl houses still produce the 1970's "funky" robot and kaiju style.
