The most wanted Superboy, yet he was only been made once in the DCD line of modern Teen Titans. I mean who was really thinking people wanted his Young Justice 6in. in his white test tube outfit. It was cool for the 4 inch for a con exclusive, but even the new Shirt and Jeans Sb 6in. coming has a utility belt or/and gloves???? Why??

I hate when anyone from Matty answers a question with, "stay tuned." We are nothing but tuned. There is way too much time between announcements. They could really do a better job of building up suspense. Release previews of a character at a time, keep the momentum moving. If changes have to be made after a figure is announced, so be it. It wouldn't be worse than the mass cancellations we have already endured.
Hey, Mattel, we are fully tuned. Throw us a friggin' bone. A new juicy morsel of DC news at least once every three weeks (or better) would be a good rule of thumb. Just sayin'. Thanks for trying to pry something out of 'em, Shin. |

this is as Jack Sparrow put it "Up is down. That's just maddeningly unhelpful. Why are these things never clear?"

Mattel. It seems 3.75 lines tend to hurt your company by poor sales. From the canceling of Infinite Heroes, the clearancing of Green Lantern basic figures, and also the early price cutting of the Young Justice 4 inch line. You hired away the Four Horsemen from Mcfarlane Toys long ago to help with larger action figures. Can you do the same thing today by hiring some designers away from Hasbro's better Marvel Universe lines of great 3.75" figures? It may help remedy poor sales in a scale Mattel can hire some sorely needed help with.

Yeah, I can see that, but then it'd also fizzle out and die when they had to put out the more obscure characters. We'd end up seeing a lot of camo Batman and leadsuit Superman and lawn maintenance Martian Manhunter.

Vaguely on topic: Mods, can we get a thread dedicated to Mattel's answers, so we can stop derailing the Questions thread?

Also, with all the questions in this thread, it's easier for me to find questions to post and sort out which ones were already answered.

What I might do is just edit my 1st post here, each time we get answers in, and copy and paste them into there. When we had separate threads before, we would post answrs in the answers thread but people would post their questions in that thread instead of the questions thread.
Also, with all the questions in this thread, it's easier for me to find questions to post and sort out which ones were already answered.

It's cool man I can find them easier here and some of the ramblings help me spruce up the questions.

Re-phrasing my previous question. Mods feel free to edit the question some more.
Dear Matty, Over 12 years ago you hired the 4H from a small rival. Today your biggest rival also drove out another talented designer = David Vonner. He crafted incredible 3.75" figures for Marvel Universe. For your DC Universe with its New 52 revamped comic lines (selling well) can you likewise consider revamping your low-selling 3.75" figure lines? Maybe revamp them to a quality the recently unemployed David Vonner can fix? Again you hired quality work from the 4H well over a decade ago from a rival. Can you see yourself making an equally wise, strikingly similar, decision today to help your struggling 3.75 inch figure lines? Definitely. David supports us at ToyArk (listing us among his favorites) on his Facebook. This alone deserves our support back. I don't know if Mattel knows any better than Hasbro. In case they don't know better, its best we ask Matty about David. Again, David supports ToyArk, listing us in his favorites on Facebook. I'm not on Facebook. But whoever is on there (who can suggest this idea to Matty and/or David) hopefully we will FINALLY get a GREAT 3.75 line for the DC Universe.

Is it at all likely that we'll see a New 52 Batwoman figure in the future (if not near future), or would the [unfortunately] controversial nature of her character prevent one from going into production?

Controversial? You mean because she's a lesbian? Why would that prevent her figure from being made? They made Dr. Arthur Light in the 3.75" Mattel DC Infinite Heroes line and he raped Sue Dibny. I'd say that's far more controversial than lesbianism unless I missed something else.

Sure. I agree. I guess I'm asking whether Mattel feels the same way. Like, is it the kind of thing they'd worry about getting backlash over in such a politically charged landscape? To be clear, I'm not asking whether Mattel supports GLBT stuff, or even trying to suggest that a "No" answer would be an indication that they don't - I mean I hope they do, but that isn't what this is about. I just wanna know if we'll get a 6" Batwoman anytime soon. haha. I'd rather not settle for the DC Direct figure if I can eventually get a more New 52 accurate one.
But your answer reminded me that I could have answered my own question though. haha. They did do an Infinite Heroes BW awhile back, so... Pairing down to its core then, can we look forward to an updated Batwoman anytime soon? haha |

Admittedly, it was a loaded question, but something I was genuinely curious about. haha
