Have you considered modifying the F-14A mold to reflect a 70's/80's/90's F-14, so that those schemes could be accurately done? Conversely, have you considered very late (2000+ era) schemes for your mold? I'm sure you've read on various forums that the VF-84 scheme you chose, and how your mold physically is, do not match time-wise.

i like to know if jsi will pick up the broken promises of 21st century toys and finally bring to light a f-4 phantom and a b-25 mitchell.

It would be great to "see" an F16 vf126Top Gun "Bandit/Aggressor" with its fancy camo scheme.
Same words for an MRCA Tornado but most of all, what about an hi-vis version of an F14 vf-111"sundowners"? About the pilots I hope they'll release the pilot of the incoming F14 with their appropriately customized helmets... Ciao da Roma. Last edited by grecog70; 10-17-2009 at 07:31 AM.. |

I wouldn't be surprised if the high viz Sundowners is under consideration. That's one of the most popular schemes of all time, not to mention one of the only shark-mouth Tomcat schemes. Quote:

If anything I hope we see an F-5. It's smaller than the other jets, venerable, iconic, classic, and there are plenty color schemes let alone aggressor schemes to choose from. To make it easy, start from the F-5E and go from there. Quote:

Many of us have wanted a HIND for YEARS. We used to bug Mike from BBI about it and all he would say was "wait and see". However I can see why BBI never tackled it; it's HUGE. Realistically speaking, I don't think anyone, as in 1/18 toy manufacturers will be making a HIND in the next few years. I think you'd see a Commanche or even a Havoc before you'll ever see a HIND. I hate to say it, because the HIND is one of my all time fav helicopters, and I really do want one in 1/18 scale, but I don't want to get everyone's hopes up for it, when it's not a likely release.
I used to have a 21st Century Cobra but I decided to get rid of it becuse it was more VietNam era instead of modern. Last edited by Autobot_Goldbug; 10-17-2009 at 02:35 PM.. |

Well I don't think they have any competitors to worry about. BBi seems to be very quiet lately.
As for competitors, the closest one now is Admiral Toys. JSI does not want overlapping releases. Remember the time when Admiral announced their F-86E and ME-262 respectively before 21st announced theirs? Not to mention, everyone has bitter memories over the F-4 fiasco. One of the main reasons people flocked to 21st Century Toys was because at the time of their 1/18 XD releases, NO ONE else was making realistic 1/18 military toys. So back then, the 1/18 P-51D/ME-109(primitive by today's standards), were realistic gems to be found at Toys R Us. This was around 2000. The reason people stuck with them was due to their dedication to accuracy, this was something that they maintained over BBI. There used to be heated debates over which P-51D/Corsair was better, 21st's V2.0 or BBI's. In the end, the battle was between accuracy and finish; BBI's was weathered, 21st's wasn't but tended to be more accurate. So that's what JSI is getting at, are you buying their products due to accuracy, realism(as in say, compared to other lines such as G.I. Joe, Avatar, et al), real world vehicles, et al? |

Forget European Jets and WWII right now.....the 1/18 scale community NEEDS and WANTS an A-10 WARTHOG!!!!!!!! How long are collectors/fans going to have to keep asking?
If JSI wants to show collectors and fans of 1/18 scale that they are listening and want to give the 1/18 scale community what they are asking for with modern jets, they should make the A-10 in 1/18 scale. They have no competition now so strike while the timing is right. Don't let us collectors/fans down with this one JSI, you have given us renewed hope. As for the pilots, bring them on. Judging by what they've done with the an all new model like the F-14, I'm sure their pilots and figures will be a win. I like their products and they show great workmanship so far. Their realism, 1/18 scale, accuracy, and the fact that they are real world military vehicles are what draw me to them. Almost forgot my questions: 1. Will JSI produce the A-10 in 1/18 scale? (1/18 scale military collectors and fans have been asking for this aircraft for a long, long time. Show them that you are willing to give them what they want.) 2. Will JSI sell their pilots as seperate figure packs? 3. Will JSI make seperate ordinance packs for their aircraft? Last edited by Warthog76; 10-17-2009 at 06:39 PM.. |

The Question/s i would like to ask, if i could ask them
is... are they considering making a lower detailed version to lower the costs a bit...(Retractable Landing Gear , Opening Canopy , Removable Ordinace and Sweeping Wings are an absolute must keep) and let the the limited 1000 "i think it was" of this release be considered the premium grade version? or make one of smaller scale, for those who can not afford the 1:18 version??? jsi has brought to the table a magnificant looking aircraft in 1/18 scale for a bargain price, especially considering that the only other two companies that make 1/18 scale f-14s want above 12 grand for them. i'm laid off from work and i'm buying one of the original ones, plus a custom built one from jsi for over 1500 bucks. so if you really want one, you would get one, trust me, i believe it would be worth it.

I'd rather them keep their focus on 1/18 scale like they are doing. At least until they get more of the subjects that collectors/fans have been asking for over and over out, yet no other manufacturer has had the guts to do.
Even if JSI were to produce 1/32 scale, don't expect it to sell for the $15 to $25 price tag. Think more like $55 to $100. The one thing that has hurt this hobby is the expectation of pricing that is way below what the manufacturer can produce these for. Big box retailer contracts and pricing did alot of it. These are truly model replicas and not your everday Hasbro/Mattel toys. |

well said these aircraft are truly works of art, not toys. and fame master has produced a 1/32 f-14 and well it s $150, tamiya has several 1/32 f-14 kits price ranges from $100 to $250, not including buying the equipment to build and paint thier models. another thing why would you put a gi joe in such a fine aircraft, this is a replica not a toy. it far exceeds the sky strker from gi joe. but , hopefully for those who want pilots perhaps they will produce them in the future. GI Joe collectors do in a small way broaden the fan base and consumption of 1/18 scale military items. Here is another reason that an A-10 should be produced in 1/18 scale.....think Rattler.....it will appeal to GI Joe fans the same way the F-14 does. If JSI doesn't produce 1/18 scale pilots, which I feel they will, the new GI Joe 25th Anniversary style figures have some pretty good sculpts that can be used in my opinion. |

true i suppose, but i quess i'm a fan of realism, gi joe isn't real its a cartoon. even though i played with them when i was a kid. and yes i had a sky stryker and the night stryker as well. i believe we may have quite a debate on the subject. but i quess it just depends on the person.
to me when i was a kid and they didn't have jsi, bsi, or 21st century toys, i played with the only thing they had at the time, (gi joe). but now if you ask me gi joe is out of date like alnold swarzeneggar is old, thanks to jsi, bsi and such companies. but hell yes give us an A-10 WARTHOG! They want elaboration, like what draws you to their products, over their competitor's products.
. I'd LOVE to see the IDS and ECR versions. The ADV is alright but the IDS, man does that look awesome. I wouldn't be surprised if the high viz Sundowners is under consideration. bryce armstrong; thier custom service provides a wide range of possibilities for the f-14a tomcat. they say they can duplicate any paint scheme your heart desires. they also provide a lite up option where the cockpit, landing and nav lites all lite up. as well as a lantirn plus extra missiles, also includes some mods to the actual aircraft. custom boxes, as well as custom pilots to a custom certicate to go along certifying the aircraft to be one of a kind.
but, all this comes with a heavy price tag my custom build will cost $1650, so its not for everyone i hate to say. but if your truly interested email sam at jsi ([email protected] ) and talk to him. he will hook you up. i'll display mine when i get it in a few months to show off thier abilities and work.
