Marvel Legends Sentinel? 100 bucks shipped is fair. The Marvel Universe one however? Not so much. Maybe 50 or 60? The Legends Sentinel is easily superior to the MU version in almost every way.

I have the grey MU Sentinel MOC, it's not on my BST yet, but soon. And yes, for the BAF $100 shipped is a fair rate these days, but if currnet trends on ebay are any indication, that price is going up.

Yeah, it depends on the version. The silver/purple one you can't give away. The comic colored one is worth more. I got mine from a local guy for $30 loose but in the box $75 or so is far. The silver/purple one $40 would be high. The baf anything under $100 is a good price.

Has anyone dismantled their MU Sentinel for repainting? I want to try it, but a little worried I'll ruin it.

price sounds reasonable (I got mine from a Marshalls so I don't know how much they regularly go for), however I find the MU sentinel is better than the BAF. It's bulkier, more colorful, and has the light-up feature with sound, creating a more intimidating presence. The BAF is leaner, but has more sculpt and pose, and a much more drab paint job. Both sentinels are great and not everyone will agree which they prefer (which is fine), but try for cheaper I suppose, your wallet will thank you.

@ Iceman - that is a really nice look, is the shoulder # a decal? And did you just use a hair dryer?

I did use a hair dryer for the head because I didn't know how the electronics worked up there. It's just an led shining up from the neck joint and reflected out the eyes. I generally just turn the water in my bathroom to hot when I am popping figures or straightening them. I used the water for the hands and feet. You probably could for the head as well but a hair dryer is safest.

take away colour (+MU) take away posability (+ML)
in the pic above...if you KNEW NOTHING of them... had ZERO preference between ML or MU...based on the side by side pics above... who would win in a fight? I know my answer. SIDE NOTE: Why would giant robots designed for killing need faux 6 pack abs for?

Not necessarily. A quicker, more agile fighter could easily outlast a lumbering brute, given enough stamina to keep moving and wear the larger opponent down. Contrast that with the stronger one only needing to land a few blows (if that) to take down the smaller opponent, and you have the makings for an interesting fight.
Having said that, a lot also depending on the fighting style of the combatants. Precision strikes can quickly cripple any opponent - regardless of their respective strength, speed or stamina. Personally, I'd pick the ML. It's a more recent design (and likely far more advanced) than the MU version. As for the 8-pack abs, the designers mimicked human physiology because its fighting style was based largely on human techniques and tactics. If it were programmed to fight like a cat, it would look like a cat.

To me, the MU version evokes a more old-school design (especially when you compare it to old Sentinel toys).
And as I said, it depends on fighting techniques and how skillful those fighters are within their respective disciplines. Besides, it's not like a fight on Game of Thrones is any more or less realistic than a battle between two Marvel Sentinels. I'd be curious to see how one of those GoT guys would do unarmed against someone with a martial arts background (like a samurai or a ninja). Where is Deadliest Warrior when you need it?

Ever notice how the Sentinels have the Ironman trademark chest arcs? Makes you wonder if the comics ever explained that? Would make an excellent Avengers -Xmen crossover on how the sentinels came to be in the first place.

Off topic: I dunno, in GOT some characters are only weapon based and rely on pure strength (The Mountain), while others clearly have knowledge of unarmed combat and armed (Oberyn, Daario, etc.), and then other mix both at once like sword skill and punching cheap shots when available (The Hound, Jorah, etc.). They're all fictitious so it's hard to say, but in one particularly well done fight we see how speed vs strength works great until distance is replaced with pride *splat*.

Eh, the only reason I mentioned GoT being fictitious is it's not really a good choice for an example of your position (strength > speed). The outcomes of all the fights and battles in GoT are predetermined, like WWE matches or any other scripted media.
I could easily use the show Vikings as an example of a smaller, faster warrior being able to take down a larger, stronger opponent regardless of proximity. Again, the fights in that show are largely fictitious (even thought the show itself is partially based on real historical events). I'm not discounting your position (I do agree with you when it comes to certain scenarios), I just don't consider the matter as cut-and-dry as you.

Don't want to start anything here, but assuming this battle ever took place it wouldn't apply to the notion. My theory of strength beating speed in one on one requires and is limited to close quarters combat (touching distance), using a sling to create distance disregards the strength of the other fighter.
