I feel like someone is going to bring it up so I'll step in now and say that NECA has clarified before that these toys won't have the separate nets as seen in these pictures. The final releases will have the regular sculpted nets per usual, these are the two-ups we saw at ToyFair so they have actual netting but the final releases will not.

I think these look fantastic, almost like mini-Hot Toys the sculpts are so good!!! Doesn't bother me a bit with the sculpted netting and cant wait to see a review from Pixel Dan on all 3!

These will also be their first predators that aren't accurate to the movie. NECA made the smart move to not make them as bulky and tankish as they were in the film which does make these a lot more appealing to fans.

Could be just me...I just watched this movie again the other night, and upon seeing these, the colors of their bodies looks a little off. The yellows definitely look a bit bright.
Could be just me though. Glad they resculpted Scar's face. He looked really ridiculous without his helmet in the movie. His eyes looked way too human. This looks about just right. |

Wow. NECA has been raising the bar pretty high lately, but this is incredible. They look exactly like the Hot Toys versions! So long as QC holds up, this is definitely the best body design I've ever seen in 7' scale. On top of that, every piece of armour excluding below the elbow and just above the ankle is removable, which is great for customizing!
Though the best part of all is the price tag... BBTS has them listed at $22.99 a piece! I thought because of their size and detail they'd be closer to $30.00 . I just hope this line sells well so we can get some cool Super Predators... Maybe Even this guy.... |

Unless they make an Alexa Woods figure (The Black Chick) I don't think I will need Scar without his mask. I have always prefered Predators with a mask on. I will not make a final decision on Scar until I see him in person, but Celtic and Chopper are must haves.

NECA Predators have always been $18 to $21 at retail, these are barely half an inch taller so it's no surprise they're still generally the same price.
Celtic is the only one from this set that I aim to get.

Those actually look pretty rad unpainted.
One thing I never really understood though why's the one Predator named "Chopper"? |

Chopper's name refers to his arm-mounted Scimitars, which are longer than the Wrist Blades of his brothers.

I really like the proportions on these guys, not too big...not too small. Just right.

Because "Terry" wasn't very intimidating.

I feel like Chopper should be the Pred that rides the Blade Fighter hover bike more then Viper. Chopper even has huge arm blades to go with the Blade Fighter vehicle.

I would buy both the non painted and painted versions if they were to sell them like that...

They should issue an unpainted variant in all-white armor and call it Prototype Predator.
Actually, isn't there a story about a predator approaching an Arctic mining settlement, or something like that? So a white theme might actually work. Imagine "Arctic Predator" making snow angels... Last edited by Skoob; 07-03-2015 at 12:24 PM.. |
