We're only getting him because he won the poll, I highly doubt Hasbro would be making him if there wasn't a poll. Hopefully though Revan's dominance of that poll will show Hasbro that even though the old EU isn't canon anymore that doesn't mean toys wouldn't sell. I'd certainly love for Malak to join his master in my 6" collection.

3.75 Armored Spider-Man is a buy. I loved that suit. Big pass on everything else.

I'm quite disappointed with Hasbro's reveals right now.
First off, for Spider-Man, classic Hobgoblin is the only thing that is awesome. I'll get Miles Spidey, but I don't need a cartoon version of Peter nor Silk. And what is up with there only being 4 figures in the wave? What about a BAF? Next up, the Cap waves suck. Outside of Black Panther, there is nothing I find worth buying. No Falcon, no more Serpent Society members, LAME!!! Doctor Strange... Really, that's it? A repaint of a SDCC figure, a movie version of Strange, and another repaint of him? Iron Fist might be cool, but Nico is the only one worth buying. However, out of all the badass outfits she has worn in the comics they went with one of the most blandest one of them all. SUPER LAME!! The X-Men wave selection is crap. Rogue is the only one worth getting. Hell, like Nico, they went with the more boring design choice for Kitty. Not a fan of high profile characters like Punisher and Namor being store exclusives. Overall, this Toy Fair is turning out to leaving a lot to be desired all across the board.

Nice to see more effect parts coming from domestic companies. Really digging Havok, Scarlet Witch, Dormammu, and Iron Fist effects. Is that the pizza spidey body for Iron Fist though? Something about the torso looks different especially the larger shoulders.
So Iceman's finally getting a decent figure eh? Looks to have almost no paint so pls don't mess up the QC. Also nice to see a new Miles Morales as I was considering tracking down the one from ASM movie line, this one seems more age appropriate for the body. I guess this is the new young/teenage male body? We've seen a fair use for the female one in the past year, so why not. I don't necessarily see the need for a regular ultimate spidey but hey, someone will probably wanna fill in their spider-verse. (also I totally called silk!) |

There's a surprise. I'm betting you didn't read any of the reports, any of the discussion in the thread, just looked at the pictures and posted your knee-jerk reactions.

They didn't show the entire Cap wave, Falcon is in one of the exclusive two-packs (with Bucky) that we've been discussing in this thread. Quote:

That's always been the nature of the line (and toys as a whole in the last two decades), the vendors drive the product, not the manufacturer or the consumer. |

The hobgoblin is pretty awesome. And I am interested in that lifesize Cap shield. May make a nice wall display. And I wonder what sw vehicles they're doing.

They showed half and half of both waves, so I think people are going off of listings which...I don't know where, but yeah.

Hell why bother showing us the Doctor Strange stuff now when the movie won't be out until Nov while cheapening us on the stuff that will be out sooner like the Spidey and X-Men waves? BTW, what Falcon/Bucky 2 pack?

I may not be a Star Wars fan, but I do have a great appreciation for their character designs. Star Wars Sabine looks nice, but have too much details/colors. I want to see classic Asajj Ventress in the 6'' black series, she is one of my favorite character designs ever.

Iceman!!! I chose the movie version as I hate the beachball shoulders on the other versions and I'm not a fan of exploding crotches (on action figures). Replaced!
I have no idea who Nico is. But I'm buying her. She looks too much like me for me to pass her up. I also liked nico, but then again, I thought she would be better as an action doll. her clothes are too pertty for being made in plastic. Gamora is pertty cool, having a full futuristic space suit with a gun and a sword, I may get her. As for Living Laser (another 3.75'' figure), I kinda wish he was a girl. I mean look at his color scheme, what a waste.

Finally a Marvel Legends I truly want. That iceman is awesome; having crystal like sculpted details instead of just having a smooth look, not to mention that translucent shimmery plastic*-*. I think he even have some glitter, lol:P. I also liked nico, but then again, I thought she would be better as an action doll. her clothes are too pertty for being made in plastic. The Civil War lineup looks pretty solid! I'm totally looking forward to the new 12 inch figures and the Iron Man helmet!!! And the new Legends figures look great too! Especially the new Scarlet Witch, I've wanted a good figure of her since Age of Ultron!!!

I know this is old news for 6" Black Series collectors but seeing that Revan is awesome. It shows that Hasbro is still open to doing EU stuff despite the fact that it was scrapped.

Again I'll point out that Revan is only being made because he won the fan poll. I'd wager that were it not for the fan poll we wouldn't be seeing any old EU stuff in the line and it shouldn't raise our hopes that they'll do any more unless another fan poll rolls around.

Star Wars needs some cryptic lore, some powerful words you can just throw around. Great Scourge of Malachorr, Starforge, Great Hyperspace War etc. And if Disney wants to make money of that, just sell some old novels and comics again. Kids won’t know the difference and EU-fans would feel a bit appreciated. It’s largely irrelevant to your new movies anyways, it plays in such a distant past that you have enough room to do whatever you want. Disney only really had problems with the EU which surrounded the original movies and their aftermath, so they wanted that gone for obvious reasons. I feel like we’ll slowly see past fiction reinstated into the canon. Revan, or Darth Bane for example… you can have those in your canon without any problem. But yes, it is nice that we’re gonna get that figure. I loved playing KOTOR back in the day so it’s a must have for me, even though I think Black series toys are a little overpriced still, at least around here. |

Actually Darth Bane is in the canon again although much smaller in role compared to the old EU version. He showed up in the last season of the Clone Wars as a ghost when Yoda went on his vision-quest/drug-trip. In the canon now Darth Bane is simply a very ancient Sith who introduced the rule of two, but he was voiced by Mark Hamill so that's a plus.

Hasbro and Star Wars are apparently greatly pushing to clear any post OT EU as apparently when the fan poll that Revan so easily won was being drafted characters like Mara Jade and Kyle Katarn supposedly ended up being very high on the lists but then the official powers had them removed because of the strict canon interference they presented, supposedly anyway.
It might not happen soon but I think eventually Disney would want to cash in on diehard EU-fans as well. Revan selling like hotcakes might help with that. Quote:

I have to imagine Revan will indeed be highly sought after but part of me wishes people didn't dare about him getting a toy so I'd have an easier time getting one. I remember it being a bitch to find the 3.75" one from the 30th anniversary line, that figure remains one of my all-time favorites even with the highly inaccurate mask colors.

Yes yes yes, I always felt like even post-canon-wipe that KOTOR had stronger standing than any other EU since it's so far in the past from anything else, like it could be their version of a legend (like their version The Iliad or something).

Hasbro did say they were surprised Revan won the fan poll, so its possible they are re-evaluating their decision not to make any EU characters. I'd rather have a 6" Bastila Shan to go with Revan (and other KOTOR characters eventually) than any characters from the EU whose existence is contradicted by the new canon.
