No offense. But you kind of take the “ as long as I can find it, to hell with everyone else” approach. In my motuc Matty days we knew the more people that could obtain the offerings the better. It grew the line and gave us beasts, vehicles and playsets. We are in the same boat with the Star Wars vintage collection. Hasbro actually heard our cries and saw the sales and are now releasing cases of army builders for pre-order and expanding the line in 2021. Again do to the loud voices of collectors. You have to have a thick skin in this world, and listen to the thing that matters most. Money, ergo the paying customer.
There use to be a business creed that read..... Rule 1. The customer is always right. Rule 2. If the customer is wrong, see rule number 1. People seem to forget that companies work on projections and known quantities. When a company pitches an exclusive, they tell the store the costs, profits, and margin they’ll get. Contracts for exclusives are usually a set amount. “You buy 4K widgets, you sell them for $50, you make $15ea, we make $12ea”. They aren’t “leaving money on the table” because they already met their goal. A lot of the toy industry works that way. Even the big boys

No, I’m more of the “I see product every time I go to the store, I see product reasonably priced over time on eBay, so it’s available” approach. “Customer is always right” has always been BS. I’ve worked retail, wholesale, and manufacturing. Customer is often a paste-eating moron. Customer is often mocked, and the skill of sales is to make the paste-eating moron THINK he's getting a good deal. It's like gambling, the house always wins over time.

Even the big boys The biggest thing NECA should do is work with Target and Walmart to do pre-orders, and limit the amount that can be ordered per household. NECA has already shown, with Bebop and Rocksteady, they can do multiple production runs if needed. So they adjust accordingly if they can.

That hasn’t been a business model since the 50’s. Anything that is a “luxury item” is ALWAYS under produced. Video game systems, hot toys (Both the brand Hot Toys and hot items like Tickle Me Elmos and Furbies), etc... if something is in demand, it disappears fast. Sorry, but no company, especially today, is going to produce to demand unless it’s straight to consumer, and then you are looking at $50 ea like Super7. Neca either doesn’t want or isn’t allowed to do that with the Tmnt stuff. Which is fine by me, I’ve never had an issue finding Neca product.
Perhaps they can re-route some of their products to places where people actually live? I swear they're sending the same amount of figures to every Target regardless of population. |

Location, location, location. It’s true. In my area I saw rogue peg warm. I could have about 30 of her from the various Walmart’s. My area received them about 4-6 months after the online and rest of the country it seemed. My closest Walmart had at least 6 on hand. If I only knew. Lol.

Oooor... I’m someone who knows a LOT about the toy industry. But I get it, you are angry, truth upsets you, you prefer your “Neca and Nickelodeon are conspiring to keep toys from me” bs. That’s fine. I really done care. I found my sets and sets for anyone I cared about with minimal effort. Sucks you couldn’t. I’d continue this conversation, but you refuse the truth, so we’ll end this now. I don’t want to be banned for fighting in the forum. I’ve got nothing to prove.
But yeah, have a nice life, enjoy your Super7. |

Enough with the insult hurling. If you can't talk about things in a civil manner, go somewhere else.

Being overly argumentative and hostile toward differing opinions is not exactly "civil." Who would to post here when people like "webz" attack whatever your opinion is.

The warning was for the entire thread, which is going off the rails.

Seriously where do you live in the country that you've never had any issues finding NECA TMNT figures in store. The only time I've seen them is in really remote areas that happened to have a Target. If you live in California, you have zero chance.

Sadly, any mention of neca and turtles in the same headline on any site ends up this way. I want to talk about the product in my hand. No product means the only talk is how to fix the problems. And there are major problems. I think a major point is since I can’t get this stuff, I have very little positive or informative to add to these threads, so I’ll take my leave from the neca turtles threads.

Before they were with gamestop and at least gamestop gave you chances to order online. Time will tell with walmart, but early returns suggest, it's going to be a huge problem.

I feel ya bro. It would be like Christmas to see these threads turn from all this biz talk to fig talk. Hope it happens. It could be so gravy. UPDATE FROM TWITTER!!!! NECA @NECA_TOYS · Jul 1 Happy to announce we are revealing our #sdcc exclusives starting next week on Tuesday 7/7. A different reveal each day through Friday. Different pieces will have different availability based on the terms of the contracts is my guess. Tmnt pieces will be retail only. Gremlins is retail and online, and others will be specialty stores only.

Whatever the Alien and Predator are, they will almost assuredly be sold through the NECA Store as usual for their con exclusives. And most likely retail as well, probably Target or Walmart.

I doubt there will be any specialty store releases. We know there is a TMNT release for Target, an Alien, and a Predator exclusive (see here).

I know what specialty stores are. NECA Store will have all of them, as they do every year. But BBTS and such likely will not. You're looking at a combo of NECA Store, and brick n mortar releases for their SDCC items.

They could throw us a curve ball by releasing Dutch as he appears in the Predator Hunting Grounds game, but chances are they will save that as an Ultimate figure for a series of Hunting Ground inspired Ultimate releases. I’m all but certain the Turtles exclusives will be based off the Coming Out of Their Shells 1990 Summer Musical. It would likely take minimal tooling to pull off and recent interviews with Randy suggest they are heading in that direction. As for the Alien figure it could be anything but it likely will be 40th anniversary related. I guess time will tell... |

I have a sneaking suspicion that the Predator exclusive this year will be the movie poster version of the Fugitive Predator they showed back at Toy Fair 2020 with the white light-up eyes and the blue and black deco.

That said, Randy stated on twitter that there are 10 ultimate predator 2 figures and 1 exlcusive. So either that's going to be a SDCC or NYCC exlusive. https://twitter.com/NECA_TOYS/status...19117107683328 As for the turtles i am more convinced that we are getting April O'Neil with Judith Hoag's likeness. She did a NECA unboxing recently which to me indicates that she's onboard. https://twitter.com/Heyjude629/statu...47492309196805 Alternatively, a second Casey Jones with Elias Koteas likeness i.e. unmasked head. The head on the current figure has a perfect likeness glued under the mask. Further to that Elias Koteas replied to a post on ToyShiz's instagram indicating that he will now allow his likeness to be used. https://www.instagram.com/p/CB8l4dUHX37/ Duzmachines84 took the mask off the current figure and painted up the face. Also he did a photo with Casey Jones head on a foot soldiers body which while nothing more than a fan custom would make sense as an exclusive as it's a good way to give fans the head without forcing people to buy the same figure twice. https://www.instagram.com/duzmachines84/?hl=en For the Alien figure the 40th anniversary makes the most sense. Would love if they gave us a chest burster Kane. A good exlusive would be Lambert, Kane or Dallas in the regular costumes. Alternatively, a Xeno with Bolaji Badejo head would be perfect. |

With that said I don’t see them releasing him at SDCC. Randy already said that in addition to the two turtle 2-packs, Splinter/ Shredder 2-pack, foot soldier 2-pack, Tokka and Rhazar 2-pack, and Super Shredder, there is one more surprise release we don’t know about yet. I have a feeling that will likely be an unmasked Casey Jones and April O’Neal 2-pack sometimes this fall or winter, but that’s purely speculation on my part. I could see NECA producing a Kane figure using some of the tooling from the yet-to-be-released Ash and Bert figures, but including a swap out chest similar to their T-1000 and Freddy figures so you can have Kane pre and post chestbuster death. |

Kane with a swap out chest would be perfect. Gotta have a chest bursted character but would love to have the clean option as well. We'll find out over the next 72 hours. They're meant to be doing SDCC exclusive previews this week starting Tuesday. |

TOMORROW IS THE DAY!!! Got my alarm set for 6 to get to Target 1 hour before it opens.
I have strategically picked the Target I'm going to based on it being the largest one closest to me. The two relatively close are small. They don't look small when you're in there but I have never found a NECA there. There is another large target around the other large Target but I'm worried they still won't have it. If I had found some Neca turtle stuff in one of them I would for sure pick that one. But at least I have seen actual NECA stuff at both. Worth a shot. SO HERE GOES! |
