I invest in other things... but yeah, money is number one. These companies are hurting my bottom line.

Dear god this is boring.....somebody throw a pie. Lol
Seriously though, I’m impressed by how much they talk about hasbro pulse and haslab. They really seem to be happy with Star Wars sales. |

Investment wise I steer clear on a professional basis though I am a consumer personally. Always interesting what the executives spin certain concepts. I wonder if they would address reasons for other companies to have their IPs (for example GI Joe and Power Rangers). I'm sure they will talk up growth with new content material from Disney+ (Marvel and Star Wars).

They seem impressed by Star Wars sales, but also don't seem to realize their product lines are being handled so poorly.
Sales would be better if figures of the actual Mandalorian were on shelves and not exclusives to Target and Walmart that nobody can get. GI Joe is horribly mishandled as well as Lightning Collection. Transformers and Marvel seem to be the only two lines they have some sense on how to handle. |

A few observations/hopes:
*Hasbro Pulse and digital sales needs to be a greater priority vs PO's from other 3rd party retailers. *Hope to see a greater focus on Hasbro-owned properties like GI Joe, D&D, Transformers vs the Disney owned properties(which are being run into the ground imho). *With WoTC announcing a licensing deal for the Warhammer IP... I wonder if a potential acquisition of Gamesworkshop could occur in the future. *And with AT&T desperate for cash I would like to see Hasbro make a move on the DC master toy license. We all want that 6in Marvel Legends style DC line. |

Hey Mods... why did my original post get taken down?!? You posted the live stream of the Hasbro Investor Day and my comment was directly related to said live stream!
Can you please send a PM so I can understand why the comment was removed? See comment below: Deleted - Toyark Staff Last edited by Joe Moore; 02-25-2021 at 11:36 AM.. |

Does Hasbro's D&D license include the 1980s cartoon? Because I keep hoping they'll do a Marvel Legends/Black Series style 6" figure line for it instead of figures from the game like they showed last year.

If anything they would probably give it to another company to do for the right licensing price. Remember Hasbro is a giant of a company, they go for high yield returns, though sure they keep cranking out nostalgia figures for OT Star Wars, but we know how big a market fanbase there is for Star Wars. Interesting comment on the call that its interesting they're delving into content creation and media a la Disney. Expanding when there are noticeable issues as mentioned by IzzyTipsy, but this is a presentation to give the whole, "we're okay and there's a bright future."

By the way Joe, thanks for posting this. My son turns 7 today so while he is at school I redid his entire room for him. I had this live stream on most of the time.

I have learned don’t talk politics, just toys. Even when companies, actors other forum members say anything close to politics.....just talk toys. Hell, we fight enough about toys we don’t need other subjects. Lol.

Of note - I removed a couple posts earlier because all social, political, religious and otherwise similar topics that trigger divisive arguments are not allowed here.
Can you loosely connect some of those points to the toy industry topics at hand, possibly. Is it worth wasting time and energy on that here, no. Does it benefit any of us to argue about this nonsense, no. All sides are welcome to their opinions and to voice them, elsewhere. Feel free to PM me directly if you have more to say about it. |

When a post is deleted, it doesn't mean just post it again. Your post was removed as it was not appropriate for the forums, no other reason than that. Social issues, politics, etc. are best left to your social media accounts. We deal with enough "real life" everywhere else, and we try to keep this place as much about toys and collectibles as possible.
Personally, I tend to favor free speech... but as long as you apply the same standards equally I can respect your stance. |

They're going to do away with plastic packaging by 2022? What're they planning to use instead, cardboard?
I hope they don't plan to cheapen the quality of plastics in the figures. I recently had to clean up a mess of "compostable" plastic bags that disintegrated into little fragments. The last thing I want is for something similar to happen to my collection! |

They could go with a paper based insert (card-stock or cardboard) folded or cut appropriately on a figure-by-figure basis with the toy held in place with those recycled newspaper ties to replace the plastic bubbles holding the figures. My concern then with no plastic packaging is how do we preview the figures for paint quality or detect any other immediate QC issues if they remove the plastic window from the packaging exterior.

I took it to mean the insides and things like that. I’m pretty sure hasbro talked about this before and figures would still have a plastic bubble. Maybe I took it wrong. Most toys always gad to much waste in the packaging. Buying playsets or vehicles, the amount of waste was unreal. That costs money and creates unnecessary waste.

Poor Mr. Potato Head.
As an investor, I would be angry because money is my bottom line. I hear rumors of a new recession coming up and why anger your fan base and investors? When I first entered business, the one thing my manager said was, "you are my friend until you cost me money." I too want to make money, not lose it and sigh....Hasbro. Chicks dig the long ball! |

I always found it a waste that Hasbro couldn't use the inside of their packages/inserts to create background diorama's. Just pay a guy the usual going rate since they are already using the cardboard inside the box for generic backgrounds. |

It wasn't my intention to start a fight. I was only commenting on something directly being presented during the live stream which was the topic of this thread.
Personally, I tend to favor free speech... but as long as you apply the same standards equally I can respect your stance. I am staying away from investing in Toy Companies. Hasbro didn't really say anything exciting imo...and that is problematic if I were to be an investor. |

I kind of agree with the free speech thing. I liked your post and found it interesting. Money and toys go hand in hand and never want to see something I invest in do everything to make me poorer.
