A bunch of the same negative collectors on here I see lol
The SOTO Shredder, Halloween II set, and the unmasked Casey Jones were my favorite reveals! It’s funny, I see some people complaining about repaints. NECA revealed at least 9 completely new TMNT figures, 2 new BTTF figures, 1 completely new Gargoyle, Creepshow Ultimate, The Mummy, and more! What more do you all need? Tbh, the Alien AVP Game repaints are brilliant! I wasn’t a fan of the arcade paint (even though it’s accurate) They look insanely cool now. It was a pretty good showing I thought. To each their own. |

I just realized that Casey is going back to the single hinge elbows since just about everyone complained about how awkward the double-hinged ones looked. Quote:
I just wanna know when they're going to make a human, any human, from RoboCop. They've made like 10 different versions of Robo from mostly the same molds, an ED-209, and that's it. You'd think after a decade they'd give us Lewis, or Murphy, or Clarence, or unmasked Robo, or anything from a sequel besides the phoned-in flightpack and weapon arm that came with "Ultimate" Robo. I don't know if they've milked any license as long or as hard as RoboCop while producing so little product

I don't think NECA even has the license anymore and even when they did have it none of the actors' likenesses were included with the franchise license. NECA would have needed to go actor to actor making deals for those characters and that's only even if the actor wants to let their likeness be used, looking at what happened with Elias Koteas for TMNT shows how not everybody is just okay with having their face on a toy (thankfully Elias was swayed).
But they went after a bunch of the actors for Aliens! It's not a 1-1 comparison, but if Robo was popular enough to continuously pump out figures for like 14 years straight, surely that's popular enough to get at least one actor on board. Just one! Get Nancy Allen and Robo gets his partner, get Ronny Cox and you get a Jones to bundle with an office backdrop for some special ED release. If you can't get Clarence, then get Emil and do a two-pack with his melting version. Hell, just do his melting version! No likeness issues there, right? Maybe I'm naive, but I feel if they had any intention at all they could have done something. It just feels very odd that this character could be such a consistent money maker for them and yet they did almost to capitalize on it Last edited by Raine24; 07-19-2021 at 10:03 PM.. |

Sorry if I missed it but have they said when Goliath's release date is?

Yeah, about that - I have a slight worry that the next figure is going to be a "stone skin" Goliath, then a battle damage Goliath, all with different accessories, and then, surprise surprise, cancelled: "We had so many figures sculpted but the demand for the line just wasn't there".
That's just me being a pessimistic worrywart, but the scars from the Crash Bandicoot-line are still there. But to be fair, Thailog is an actual character, even though his armored-up appearance is much more iconic.

2) a dedicated line of 2000 A.D. Dredd figures from the comics and the 2012 movie
In addition, I also have ThreeA's Sam Spade/Robo-Hunter figure. And I'm heartbroken that they never got around to releasing the awesome Johnny Alpha figure they had been showing prototypes of as cons. Oh well. That said, I'd welcome someone taking another shot at it, but it would be hard to top what ThreeA did. But at least any new line would be cheaper and more easily accessible. As for the 2012 movie (I still can't believe it came out that long ago!), that would be awesome as well. There's Hot Toys-style bootlegs floating around on ebay and they're pretty high-quality, but very expensive. Plus I don't collect much in 1/6 scale, so a 7-inch line would be great. Quote:
3) Mike Harrigan in all his different looks from Predator 2

They actually look fine on clothed and/or non-human characters, but on bare arms like with Casey, they look like total garbage. The switch to single-hinge (and maybe an eventual total re-working of the double-hinge concept) is a good idea. Last edited by Dolemite; 07-20-2021 at 02:47 AM.. |

I think the double-hinge looks awful on just about every toy that does it so I wasn't exactly shocked NECA wasn't doing great their first time at bat, though Evil Dead Ash pulls it off pretty well (the mechanical bits probably help in that department, though) however I am surprised NECA would admit it wasn't working. Props to them
I think my ideal double-joint would probably be something close to what NECA already does aesthetically, but combined with a sliding c hinge to pull the limb out to get it to turn farther. Like a drop down hip, you know? |

We are definitely living in the golden age of collecting right now. Aside from straight up redoing/ updating older figures to modern standards, many companies are pumping out or have pumped out many grains so far. Still though I have few more figures that I want before I’ll be satisfied.
1) Turbo-Man from Jingle All the Way with the likeness of Arnold Schwarzenegger 2) a dedicated line of 2000 A.D. Dredd figures from the comics and the 2012 movie 3) Mike Harrigan in all his different looks from Predator 2 Those are just a few examples. My list is much longer.

No need to be fanboy too!
Generally, I like what they have to offer but this panel was quite disappointing, not to say bad. Too much tmnts especially cartoon ones who are pretty "niche" like they like too say. When horror is too niche, they don't do it but for tmnt no problem. And too much repaints. Frankly, who buys 3 king kong, 3 super shredder....Not to mention the new Casey, they should have put the head with april like mafex or Bandai do sometimes. |

If we're talking wish lists, I'd love for them to do The Mask. So many possible looks. As to the virtual Con, I'm happy we're getting Loomis, but I'm disappointed it's a two pack. Hopefully, they don't do the same thing with Laurie Strode. I also thought we'd see something from Halloween Kills since we know the figures are done and the trailer dropped recently. I was also hoping for some more Hellraiser news. I need a Chatterer. Speaking of the Clive Barker license, whatever happened to Nightbreed? Have they ever said anything about 7" figures? |

Oh yeah, that's great, let's go back to outdated articulation because of a vocal few. Lovely.

I'm all for less articulation if it means movie April's knees don't look like tumors.

Can anyone help me with info on the SDCC version of the TMNT Newsroom set they will be selling on NECASTORE later in the week? I know it will cost 175 (which, with NECA shipping cost, that will be closer to 200-210 after tax) and I do not want to spend that much on side characters (of which I already have different versions of two of them). Then they said that the individual characters will sell for 14.99 at Target. That's really low - much lower than the 52.99 that a normal Target 2 pack costs. So, is there any information about the difference between the boxset and the singles at Target? I know the Target figures will not come with news camera, but will they come with the extra heads/arms? Any info would be appreciated.

I am stunned that they resized cartoon April's head in feline form to be more reasonable, and then didn't include a resized, normal April head to replace the oversized one the original release came with. I'm just stunned.
Did they even mention the problems with the April head on the broadcast? |
