For anyone who's interested in SilverHawks but isn't a fan of Super7's Ultimates, Ramen Toy is releasing a 1/12 Quicksilver. The figure has a metallic silver looking finish to it, and it's more of a modern interpretation versus the cartoon look. You can pre-order directly from Rame Toy. Bigbadtoystore also has it available for pre-order.

... Honestly still not worth that to me. Granted I'm not a Silverhawks guy, but these toy companies have us by the gonads right now! I know, I know, inflation, cost of materials, all that... But seriously, Silverhawks??

Looks pretty awesome to me and I don't mind the 65 dollar pricing that it has til mid-Feb but shipping to the UK would probably make too much for me. But aye, it's a nice figure and I do have a fondness for Silverhawks.

High end 1/12 figures have been going for $50+ as far as SH Figuarts and Mafex for like almost 10 years now. I don't get why people are still surprised at these prices.

I'm not surprised. Well, I suppose I'm surprised in the sense people are willing to pay that much haha

Just be aware the owner is very temperamental and went on a tantrum the other day.
He made the 80's Commanders (Centurions Unlicensed figures) and advertised them as a one time only thing that would never be sold again. The first round people asked for better head sculpts and colors that were more animation accurate. The guy ignored those requests and rushed the products out. Then less than 2 months after release announces he's doing another run with the improvements people wanted. People started flaming about it (understandably IMO) and he literally threatened to start kicking people from his Facebook page who were being mean to him. He even put up a post saying he'll talk badly to whichever customer he feels like and stands by that...so yeah...not a good look. The products the guy makes are pretty cool but he's above and beyond a d**k and admitted he lied to everyone about the first run. I'm assuming he lied so that he could push artificial FOMO. It's not an okay situation and from what a buddy said he's not responding to anyone about the situation now (at least my friend said he's asked to talk to him in private and hasn't gotten any response yet). I was considering getting the 2nd release 80's commanders and the silverhawks stuff but I don't like supporting companies that act like what I've seen. Go check out the company's responses on their Facebook page. It's not a good image to keep up. |

I mean this does look good but the 1/12 scale is a very competitive space and collectors want more. Granted most of us are getting older and everything that goes with that. Guess we wish Super7 gives this sort of paint job on their Silverhawks Ultimate line (no updates, right?). General concern is how deep will Ramen Toy go with this line?
Unfortunate for practice by the owner but not surprised how things are financially for small business owners and if you're a Transformers collector you're used to seeing this. Always interested in an updated Centurions line but I also like many felt their rendition wasnt quite what I was looking for. I've definitely worked on my FOMO issues in recent years. I think it would be smart if another company, like Valaverse, does Centurions. |

Well of course you wouldn't buy them.
I AM a Silverhawks guy. I like the lore a helluva lot move that Thundercats. THIS is what I'm looking for in a AgHawks figure. They are so original the mere thought of Valaverse makes Action Force figures EXPLODE with excitement. |

Go check out the company's responses on their Facebook page. It's not a good image to keep up. 1) From a customer service standpoint and just from a representative image of the company he's trying to establish, he probably could have handled that better. In general, it's just not a good look. But I imagine it's hard when you're smaller company like that. I'd be banning and blocking people too. People are so venomous and spiteful. I can't even imagine the private messages he's gotten as opposed to the publicly posted ones. Because..... 2) That page is flooded with entitled man babies. From everything I've read and seen, it seems to me like he didn't lie. (The post of him saying he did, was straight up being sarcastic and poking the bear. Again, not a great look) He put something out that was a one time run. And it was. What he put out is never going to come out again. I'm sure phrasing it like he did created FOMO and this situation. But now there is a new product, with new colors, new sculpts and newly molded pieces. It's a new thing. Sure it's what everyone wanted in the first place, but everyone knew exactly what they were paying for and getting when they placed those orders. He told people that was the look he wanted to put out. Now that he's putting out what they actually wanted, they believe they're entitled to discounts or a pound of flesh. And it's ridiculous. Would I be upset if I was them? Sure. But that's the risk of being a first adopter. You gotta suck that up. If they didn't like the look of these things, they shouldn't have bought them. Just like I did. They weren't the Centurions I wanted, so I passed. Last edited by HoovenIV; 01-27-2022 at 02:48 PM.. |

The sense of entitlement in the collector community is truly unfortunate. I'm always so surprised at how a hobby that's supposed to be fun can sometimes bring out the worst in people. |

It's got that 'new to the game third party' aesthetic, doesn't hold a candle to the Super7 sculpts & silver paint is no winner either.

Having been previously unaware of anything Ramen Toys before reading this thread I'd like to offer my take on the matter.
The owner seems like he can be a bit of a Sphincter Cranium. But, disposition and character aside, he delivered the items for which people paid. With that out of the way, I'm not sure how a more "realistic" Silverhawks Quicksilver fits into the market. I'm not a big Silverhawks fan although I did enjoy the show. But if I were going to spend my money on toys of those characters I would want them to look as close to the way they look on the show as possible. I'm having a hard time envisioning Ramen Toy offering the entire team as well. But I have been surprised before. |

I'm of two minds on this. I've been frequenting their page since this new announcement popped up.

Just like I did. They weren't the Centurions I wanted, so I passed. And the post, which might be gone now...IDK b/c I haven't looked again, stated something like all of their productions were 1 time runs with the molds. The way he phrased it literally made it seem like you could never get the Centurions again. It was super underhanded and he HAD to be planning this from before they went to the factory b/c these are coming out way too soon for him to not have been doing that. It's just scummy. |

Either way, I do see where you're coming from and am sorry you feel like you got taken. His aggro attitude certainly doesn't help anyone who genuinely feels slighted. |

I love the Super7 Silverhawks and plan to get the entire line as far as it goes but this version looks amazing too. This is what a film version would look like in an alternate reality. Great portrait.

I think the only thing they've confirmed via Facebook is that they have Mon*Star in the queue.

Thought I would ask for those who are interested or may not have asked, how is the head articulation? Can it pull of in flight pose? I know sounds like I'm being picky but modern updated figures ought to, right? |

There's a sizable segment of the fandom that wants the shiny look as seen in the toys and and done as a modern action figure. This is basically everything the S7 figure isn't, so of course theres room for both iterations. After all there hasn't been new Silverhawks anything in like 35 years.
I didn't realize the Super7 figures were not shiny. I hope Ramen is able to make more for those that want them. |
