Did you all see where the next Star Wars Haslab is a lightsaber for play acting? It's very detailed and does a bit of stuff. I wonder if the next Marvel HasLab will be the same.
I'm kind of surprised at a role playing object, but I guess I shouldn't be. It'd be more of a draw than a diorama type of thing. |

As far as Marvel is concerned, I of course would hope they just stick with the figure line rather than props, but I'll admit, as a guy that already has a giant Sentinel and not much space left for the line period, I kinda struggle to think of something they could make that I'd have any real interest in, or even space for. Yeah, I had a bit of a "WTF" moment when I saw it yesterday, especially at the $500 price point. I get that there's huge demand for this sort of thing for cosplay, but there are many, many, many independently produced high quality lightsabers at less than half of the price. I'm not saying "it's junk", or "how stupid", or that it'll fail, just that I don't really get it. That could be because I've not really had my finger on the SW pulse since the OT, but of all of the "dream projects" that could be accomplished with the Haslab platform, this one seems a bit poorly thought out.

I could potentially be interested in some kind of diorama but role playing could definitely pass on. I just wonder if they will go this route for the next Haslab. |

I don't think it should be too surprising that they're doing a role play item for the next Star Wars HasLab. The Ghostbusters HasLab was the Proton Pack and, IIRC, it funded before any of the other HasLabs that started around the same. And looking at Pulse, all of their previous lightsabers have sold out.

I saw that and found it interesting. Hasbro had been testing the waters with Cap's shield and the MCU Stormbreaker, so I wasn't surprised about the SW Haslab and also wouldn't be surprised if they go that route with the Marvel offerings. The near embarrassment that was Galactus was followed in short order by the unmitigated disaster that was the Rancor. There was going to be an adjustment and Hasbro looks to be targeting another audience of hardcore fans given that Legends and Black Series collectors are balking at the prices. I'm fairly certain that Hasbro has a price point in mind for these labs and if figure collectors are going to reject the model, they're simply going to look to other populations, not develop items to sell at a loss. This ain't Microsoft and the X-box where they gladly sell at loss because the real money is in X-box Live and Game Pass. |

LOL You're right about the outcome, but it got ugly there for a minute. Trust me, they noted the copious amounts of negative chatter at the end and the slowness of burn.

I’m going to have to suck it up and buy the Obi Wan saber at some point. I have the Emperor’s, Vader’s, Luke’s green saber…I planned on getting Revan’s but could never find a deal on that one.

I actually think I will use the retro head because the one with the yellow eyes, teeth, and tongue doesn't really match the rest of the toy to me. The hands and feet don't have any claws and when Lizard had the more threatening portrait with teeth then he typically had the claws to match. The rest of the toy is so Romita that the toothy head looks kinda foreign on it. I also personally get an old dinosaur toy vibe from the teeth and tongue head, I don't know exactly why but it's where my mind goes. This is all, of course, assuming that I even find one.

Going through the efforts of decluttering this place, for the sake of our sanity. It's almost funny, everything that's downstairs is "what we couldn't part with" in the sense that it would in a not conveniently accessible storage. Clearly I need to reassess that.
That's going to account for the bins here, about one full bin's worth would be DC/Marvel Universe/Fortnite but the rest is legitimately Marvel Legends. Separating into what's going into a storage unit, what's being given to a cousin's kid that will enjoy them (mostly duplicates or models of character/costume duplicates, or looks I just don't care about), and what's actually staying here still (hopefully just one bins' worth) Doesn't even take into account 2 boxes of Star Wars figures, several boxes of Star Wars vehicles and several boxes of GI Joe figures, all of which except the Star Wars figures have already been stored away in shed. It's an exhausting process but hopefully I'll feel better about it at the end of things. Last edited by Captain Nash; 05-29-2022 at 01:28 PM.. |

In having a discussion on the 'tank about Classified, I became curious- do any of you consider them to be Marvel Legends in all but name? Marvel did publish the book from the inception of the ARAH period until it's "first end", after all.
I'm quite aware that the Joes don't exist in the 616 (although Quick Kick did meet Shang Chi in the UK continuity). All the same, my relatively recent interest in the Legends line is partially responsible for my acceptance of the new scale for Joe, and I was curious how some of you ML vets viewed it, especially those of you that actively collect or flirt with the idea of collecting Classified. |

Also, @ Dr. Kain and Captain Nash- if you're trying to downsize and want to sell stuff, hit a dude up- There are many holes in my collections, and I pay cash, bullshit-free. I have many Joe and Legends wants.

Though Joes are a good deal before my time, so to me they are just fun, cool designs. |

I haven't seen it yet. My wife forgot to reject buying it from the Disney Movie Club so hopefully we like it.

Found a single Siryn at a nearby GameStop. Thankfully, I also had $5 in GameStop Rewards to help soften the blow.
