My guess is the reason this Mac doesn't have the flamethrower, is it will be included with a second one, possibly a final battle Mac. That one would come with TNT detonators, dynamite sticks, the dynamite he wears around his chest, maybe even the blood test (since he was wearing the dynamite then).
And I think a third version will be released as well, a "Kennel" version without the jacket. Maybe even a 2-pack with the Dog Thing like SOTA did back in the day. He'd probably have that shotgun again, maybe a can of beer, etc.

I totally understand the sentiment. Possibly my most-wanted figure ever, and if NECA sees fit to do some other characters and monsters from the film, I'll actually construct a full Outpost 31 dio to display them in.
I will seriously buy anything from The Thing that NECA sees fit to release. I mean, I can't imagine they'd work all these years to finally get the license and just stop at one figure. BTW, the irony...I just finished my own MacReady custom a few weeks ago because I had given up all hope of NECA releasing one. It's not perfect, but I was happy with it...until now, that is! Way better than my Macready kitbash

Thanks! Yours is pretty damn good too...is that the Sota head on a...Fortnite body?
Thanks! It's a simple formula...Marvel Legends WW2 Captain America body, ML Ego head & ML Winter Solider hair, McFarlane Call of Duty Marine flamethrower accessory. Just had to paint the hair/beard and add some drybrushing/details to the jacket. |

I appreciate the compliment, good sir, but if you can give me any idea as to how to add the brown fur around the collar I'll be more than happy to take it! |

So Joe, any traction on getting you an interview with Trevor Grove related to this project? What wheels do we need to grease? (I'm totally going to bat for you on this one - I know you're a big Thing fan. )

I'd have to reach out to Randy at NECA to get Trevor's contact info. He's only on Facebook, which I am not. But a 2-part interview with Randy and then Trevor might be fun. Depends on if they're up for it.

I'd be interested in reading that! Weird that he's only on FB though, I looked for his Twitter and Insta and found nothing. I don't use FB either, too seedy haha

Details for Macready are out! He's dropping Father's Day as a timed Target exclusive, if anyone sees one PLEASE snag one for me, I'll gladly pay cost + shipping + a little extra for time and effort!

I'm in the UK. What is the best way to make sure I don't miss out on this please? If I miss this one I may as well lock myself in my shack with a case of J&B.

I have no idea about NECAs UK distribution, you might have to resort to eBay to have any certainty of getting one
