Is this a multiposseable figure that is one piece? If so, I want it!

Personally I collect the smaller version of the line, Super Robot Chogokin (usually around the 6" scale), so I'm hoping this means they may make a Voltron in that line/scale. |

These things are worth every penny. They eclipse any masterpiece Transformer ever made... ever. Their design is genius. And from the bizarre 70s concepts they came from it's well worth the money to have a solid, diecast metal piece that reflects the quality and care that went into it's engineering.

Soul of Chogokin is usually a larger scale (12" or more) and is fully articulated (unless they've changed something in the recent future). Problem is, they're SUPER expensive, and I'd imagine even moreso with a big ass GoLion/Voltron figure that may be a combiner.
Personally I collect the smaller version of the line, Super Robot Chogokin (usually around the 6" scale), so I'm hoping this means they may make a Voltron in that line/scale. I'll still take a look at the figures when it is shown off because I want to see if the lions are going to be actually lions or just body parts with legs.

This is great another Voltron figures that is just not affordable. Why does this keep happening and who to have to blame seriously. Do I blame Mattel for doping the line like a bad habit, Do I blame Toynaim for a 300 dollar figure that doesn't have any die cast parts, Do I blame Bluefin for being crappy importers, or do I blame WEP for charging to much for the license and milking the F*** out of it. I want to give up on this franchise but damn it I love it to much and it bothers me that in the last 4 years the only affordable figure has been a Funko Pop

So the people that did my GodMars are taking a crack at Voltron? Considering Toynami's beating us over the head with him currently, lets see what they can improve on...

Oh... I thought SOCs were supposed to be one piece 5-6 inch figures that were multi posseable that didn't combine. This does nothing for me then becasue I want something more in line with Mattel's 6inch SDCC release that doesn't feel like a cheap Happy Meal toy.

I'm cautiously interested in this, depending on A) price, B) size, and C) design.
While I grew up watching Voltron cartoons in 1984, I actually have found myself preferring the new Netflix series more... The design of Voltron in that, as well as the individual lions, I think is absolutely fantastic! I only plan to have one Voltron in my display, and I'm torn between getting one of the various Toynami figures, this, or waiting for an eventual collectible Netflix version.

Ouch. I used to collect SOC bots and would've been all over this years ago, but already owning a decent representation in the plastic Toynami version from years ago, can't get excited about this guy knowing he'll probably be pushing the $200-300 range (if not more). The only thing that'd put it on the "consider" list is if they went nuts and included all the cool weapons and launchers the original chogokin/Golion versions had. That would be SICK. Otherwise, fully transformable Super Robot Chogokin version please!

Voltron; one of the few 80s robots I never really cared for, but an SOC release? gonna be one heck of a nice toy.

I'm with you on getting a Legendary Defender Voltron figure. As long as it seperates into the lions. But in addition, I havr been waiting for this SOCS release big time! I feel the same way. SO hyped! |

Seeing all the Voltron news today makes me go "WOOOOW, I cannot WAIT for the Netflix design to get their Playmates toys versions."
Yeah it's Playmates but at worst it would be $60 and that would be decent. |

I hope the Voltron hype train doesn't lose momentum by the time the Playmates stuff shows up. Legendary Defender doesn't even show up on my Netflix suggestions anymore, so unless they have season 2 in the barrel ready to coincide with a merchandise launch the Playmates attempt might fizzle out like the Mattel attempt did.

I like how the lions are and that they didn't over do the details on it, so it matches the anime. Love that he comes with all of his weapons from the show. However, how fragile is this guy going to be?

$300 for a 10inch-scale Go Lion? I'd be more interested in a $400-$500 dollar 12-14inch re-draft of the Godakin version I owned as a kid...that said, this looks pretty spiffy.

Am I the only one that thinks this looks AWFUL for the price? I could have gotten the 3rd Party Version 2.0 that is amazing for $275. Why would I want to pay $25 (plus shipping) more for a less detailed, less impressive Voltron???

He matches the anime. That is all I want from a Voltron/Golion toy.

Man, seeing the weapons affixed to the lions does take me back to my Godakin days...damn, if only I hadn't sold my collection. I had Go Lion, God Marz, Tetsujin 28, Voltes V, Guardian, Combattra, Daltanias, and Dynaman. What a fool I was...I sold them all for about $1000, in the late 90's. Now they are worth nearly a thousand each...Tetsujin 28 alone is 6k...smdh
