^ Most expensive soft goods cape ever... that comes with holes in it... and also comes with a free Razor Crest.
Also love the way Grogu looks down when he is walking down the ramp... except now he can just force jump down. |

I just picked up the new Ahsoka Tano Black Series for a review. This looks like it will be a fun figure to pose for articulation shots.

Amazon delivered my throne room Boba Fett today. Just gonna get this said and out of the way now, there is no reason this figure had to be a deluxe release. The paint apps are mostly cleanly done but since this is just after he repainted it pretty much all of the silver weathering effects are gone so it is mostly flat colors with just small touches of detail. The skull emblem on his left shoulder pad isn't positioned 100% proper on mine, and his crest on his upper right chest plate is too small. The head is a direct re-use from the Tusken Boba, with maybe a slightly different color or type of plastic used. The legs are also taken straight from Tusken Boba except for the addition of the knee-pad boot toppers which are just cast in yellow and feature no painted details, they mostly hide under the robing on his legs but still for a supposed "deluxe" they could've been better. He handles well overall and his right arm's hoses/wires/tube-things are soft enough to be managed out of the way for full elbow use. The jet pack is taken from the previous RotJ Boba Fett albeit repainted, which means it's a well made piece but is also missing the repair plating it's had ever since those Jawas took it so it's technically inaccurate. His helmet is, I think, actually new and is easily worn and removed, and unlike the packaging on the RotJ version this one isn't squeezed to shit before you even open it. This is being sold as Book of Boba Fett merch but it's really a Mandalorian season 2 design. I'm sure Hasbro will make a proper BoBF version later sold as yet another "deluxe," but I'm happy with how this figure turned out even though I've got some critiques and the price is just a popularity tax. One last note I have is that since he uses the same jet pack and left gauntlet as the RotJ figure the flamethrower and jet thrust effect pieces from that figure can be used here as well.

I got a question for all of you long time Black Series collectors. Does the Obi-Wan Vader reuse a lot of parts? Or is it a new sculpt? Partially new?

At a glance it looks like it's largely reusing basically everything from the 40th anniversary/RO Vader and the ESB 40th anniversary Vader figures. The head might be new, although the differences would be largely negligible unless you're literally comparing figures side by side. To me this new release looks like it's primarily just an opportunity to get the character if you're new to the line or missed the previous ones, we'll likely see something similar next year for RotJ's 40th (maybe with a new removable helmet feature).

Its reuse of a new hope vader with brighter paint but less soft goods .
Hasbro sculptor on the video reveal mentioned there was only slight difference saying the shoulders are exposed for obi-wan version (no soft goods) . I just double checked closely the obiwan versions is mostly same as redbox vader ( A new Hope) .Same sculpt - control pad for breather but it has soft goods covering the shoulder pads and paint is duller for buttons on his belt for older one. same head eyes are slight red black. The 40 anniversay is different controls pads sculpts on his body and the eyes are dark black. Not major difference unless you look closely comparing but glad i have older redbox and 40 anniversary and ill be getting the new obiwan version. Makes sense they use older vader look since its suppose be young vader . |

Throne Room Boba Fett is here. A great figure Blaster Rifle is a pain to get him to hold. you have to snake his thumb into the handle of the gun. looks great with the other figures |

^ The Luke and Grogu one is awesome.
Also just saw the leaked full trailer for Season 3 of Mando that they showed at Celebration I think it was... and man that was so awesome. You can tell all the other Disney+ shows don't have near the budget that Mando has. |

I kinda love the implication that Boba is telling them to stay out of his territory while clearly invading one of their ships.

^ Awesome shot! Who needs a lightsaber when you can just force pull objects at will.
As a person that hates soft goods it bothers me so much that the 3.75" versions of these two have soft good skirts while the 6" versions do not. It makes me want to abandon my little Vintage Collection Mandalorian display and switch to Black Series... Black Series Cara Dune's price on the secondary market prevents me from doing that though... unless I go with the Credit Collection version. At least the smaller scale has the Cantina playset though... my local Macy's has like a bazillion of them... hopefully they go on clearance one day. |
