I always pictured the Blue Marvel as the Architect from the Matrix, but with much more, humanity.
This HasLab is now down over 300 from its high when the live stream started. I am honestly gutted by this entire process. |

I need human beings to survive...but I've also contingency plans to continue without their existence. |

Whoever made the decision against Malakili and Oola and picked 2 repacks and 1 other figure they were always going to make anyway as the tiers should face some consequences for such a terrible decision. |

Yeah this is a total bummer. It's at 4825 as of now. I think it was just over 5100 at maximum? That works out to just over 5% cancellations. I really wonder what they're thinking at Hasbro.

Rancor Keeper is more of a mystery to me. I can only assume they were given such a limited budget for the tiers that they were forced to repack or choose figures with mass retail appeal down the line. |

Yeah, the tiers are lame and this is WAY overpriced. I will pass. This should be a regular retail release not a billion dollar company crowd fund.

I am not sure retail will take this kind of product anymore. The death of toysrus has really crippled the toy world. The original rumored $300 price tag would have been easier to swallow. Now down to 4795 from a high of 5146. Freaking heartbreaking to watch this.

I think people are overstating Disney or Hasbro's reluctance to release figures of under-dressed characters. I'm sure they're not dying to invite drama by putting those figures out at retail, but "Huttslayer" Leia was literally a choice in the "which figure do we reprint" fan poll last year. I mean, sure, maybe the actress who played Oola hasn't signed off on merchandising likeness or whatever, but I don't think either her state of undress or her status as an enslaved person disqualifies her from being part of this line in some form or another. Honestly, there's a non-zero chance they have an SDCC set that includes her cooked up to more closely coincide with the (anticipated) release of the rancor.

"Slave 1" is no more. Leia is Huttslayer now, and you'd be damned to find any merchandise of her since that complain by that stupid dad. Japan gets a midriff Padme and we get one with full suit. Every female character in Star Wars since Disney took over has been totally covered up. Ahsoka even lost her boob window. Notice how Black Widow's outfit in the MCU has gotten progressively baggier and her zipper going further and further up her chest? Disney has no issue cancelling characters for a multitude of reasons. See Cara Dune. We know damn well HASBRO has no issues with it, as they cancelled Hooded Cobra Commander. |

By the way, I bought the giant Carnotaurus for $35 on special at Walmart. That thing is gigantic and well painted. How much articulation do we need in these massive giant toys. Most of us strike a pose and there it sits till we die. Down to 4783 |

I've been saying this for years. That Big Fig format was PERFECT for releasing giant characters that would have worked with 6" figures...Galactus, Rancor, Giant Man, Sentinel, Megazord, etc. Instead of giant John Cenas and Darth Vaders they could have been making cool, reasonably priced toys that both collectors and kids would have enjoyed. This was in the pre-Haslab days too, so it's not like they had an avenue to release overpriced, overthought versions of these characters either.

I have aLways been in favor of the rotocast style or Jakks Pacific big figs style. I would love a giant man for the mcu done like that. But with retail space at a premium and the hay day of toy collecting behind us, I do not see it happening.

I mean, a poll choice doesn't matter. The polls are rigged. See Dr. Aphra winning fan choice polls and the figures then wasting away at retail - she wasn't desired at all. She's still easily available to get at retail price on the secondary market.

Right? Everyone keeps saying that over on the 'tank based solely on a click-bait interview with an idiot and the fact that "Hasbro hasn't put one out yet" and "won't let Super7 make one", completely ignoring that figurine set that is still clogging pegs right now.

True, but $40 giant figures to stand behind your collections would work well enough, especially considering the current alternative is $400 crowdfunded toys. In no way comparing the quality as much as saying the format was wasted.

However, I think all but the most insane that had cancelled their order will come back, FOMO always wins, as well as the usual last week push. But even then I think that while being backed is likely we'll have to see what happens with those tiers. |

Did something happen to shift this site into weird reactionary clickbait crap, or was it always like this and I somehow just failed to notice?

Well this is a tough one, because Star Wars fans are fickle and there are people who are actively campaigning against Hasbro in the community out there over perceived slight against them here (Silly, but at the same time I think Hasbro does have a brand management problem with Star Wars which needs addressed.)

Well, it is at 4746. Officially, a drop of 400. Nothing from the Star Wars team.
I will not defer. I've come before you to resolve this attack on our Rancor now. I was not elected to watch my people suffer and die while you discuss this invasion in a committee! If this body is not capable of action, I suggest new leadership is needed. I move for a vote of no confidence in the Hasbro Star Wars brand leadership! |
