Yes, the sculpts are very accurate to the character designs.

Always preferred the glamazon look of old, but hey. If the sword tacks on mass, and historically it has, I'm good with it.
Shame that the toys aren't better, though.

I kind of like the trailer myself. Shrugs. I know it's not going to be for a lot of older fans. But the story seems pretty cool and the show is giving off a Thundercats 2011 vibe at times. I'll give at least a few episodes a shot.

More like He-Ra lol Seriously though, that design has a severe lack of femininity.

Not a MotU fan but I will say this about the loser who closed the thread: If you can't take the heat, don't light the fire.

Remove the hair from that picture and you can't tell it's supposed to be a girl.

Only if you think girl = breasts as big as their head. People who can't cope with a children cartoon not serving up masturbatory fantasies for them are the worst.

Actually, you're the one bringing up breast size. He could've been talking about her shoulders being as wide as the guy standing behind her.

"Great new She-Ra show with a more realistic representation of women and more fun for younger girl fans coming out!!!"

(Makes the only toys for the show available as a 2-pack for 50 bucks on a website that caters to 40-year old male fans)

Yeah but he wasn't though was he. You're being disingenuous if you think this is anything but a bunch of immature guys upset that a character that is supposed to be 16 no longer looks like a porn star. This is a tv show aimed at young girls, any adult fan whining about the design not being feminine enough is just a creep.

Mattel said they were going to make toys for it too, presumably that will be the general retail toyline.

Actually I noticed the chins first. MotU men usually have big fat honking Superman or Shazam chins, while females have sharp pointy chins. I would assume from the lack of physical maturity that they are trying to kidefy this the way they did Flash Gordon years ago. It didn't work then either.

You can't kidefy something that has always been for kids.

Her breast size has very little to do with it,(of course she doesn't have any breasts, so yeah) it was more so her broad shoulders and squared jaw, and masturbatory fantasies has nothing at all to do with any of my opinions, that's actually a little disturbing to me that you would even think that, also I just want to note that if you or anyone else likes this cartoon I'm not bashing you, enjoy it all you want, I'm not putting you down.

Sure most are, but according to forum rules it's expected to be curtious of children that may potentially be reading.

Exactly, as well as a jaw as squared as the male.

As with Flash Gordon, the characters were all adults with adult bodies, even if they did not always act like adults. These characters are obviously meant to be teens. The art reminds me of the Teen Titans cartoon before they ruined it. The problem is that they have already been depicted as adults, a problem the TT did not have to deal with. Long time fans will have a problem with that, while new fans who have not seen the original may not have a problem. The question is: Will there be enough new fans for it.

See that's where your wrong though because I wasn't talking about her breasts,I was in fact talking about her broad shoulders and a jaw more squared than the boy, and as a father of a little girl, I assure you me not finding it feminine enough doesn't make me a creep, it just makes me question why they chose to make her character design more boyish than feminine.

So we're back to "never seen an actual woman before" then. And yes, worrying about how feminine a girls tv show character is just an inherently creepy thing for any adult man to do.

Except He-Man and She-Ra were 16 in the original cartoons, but their designs were wrong, and both shows were intended for kids. Like I said, you can't kidefy something intended for kids.

If the characters and stories are good then kids will like it and they will become new fans.

Umm, let me re phrase what I said, I am the biological father of a little girl, there for a flipping stork didn't drop my daughter off on the doorstep, so yeah pretty sure I've seen an "actual" woman before, so I might have to ask you, have you? Because by and large, most "woman" have breasts (seeing as you brought up breasts), on top of the fact that they generally have more rounded jaws, and less broad shoulders, and stop putting words in my mouth, I never said that I'm "worried" about how feminine a kids tv show is, however you are certainly entitled to your own opinions, as am I, so it seems we should just agree to disagree with each other's opinions.

Nope, you read what you wanted to in his comment but the fact is that the only one fixating on her breast size and age seems to be you. You're projecting some kind of misogynistic tones to the comments in this thread when for the most part the comments have been pretty subdued. Maybe you're used to arguing about it elsewhere and I totally get that but you're the only one who seems upset and combative in here.

Never knew they were supposed to be 16 but the designs can't be wrong if they came first with the story built around them, right?

True enough, the problem was coming up with the design first then going back and saying he was 16, then of course She-Ra had to match because they were twins.

Actually that brings up a good point, does anyone know how old She-Ra and her friends are supposed to be in this iteration?
