I need to see more. I was REALLY hoping for articulated wings on Tally-Hawk (and other hawks). The color is very weak. And don't give me any bullshit about "animation accurate color". That shit is ugly. For 55 bucks I expect more. Mon-Star topping $80 is ROUGH. I'm on the fence now, dammit. Mainly because of the complete lack of metallic paints on a line that makes it indispensable. In addition I would have preferred a detachable mask (magnetic?) as opposed to a head swap.

These initial digital sculpts look good. Maybe S7 will adjust the color based on all the blow back they are sure to receive.

Do better by us, Brian. These are a bit weak. I want to be all in on this line. Based on these initial shots I may not even buy Quicksilver.

I would rather have had one articulated bird than two unarticulated birds.

I'm not sure how I feel about these. If they were $20-30, I would be all over this line, but at $55+, I'm very on the fence. Hopefully, they will show physical prototypes before the pre-order is over. I'd feel better about the price if the colors were better, they were actually metallic, or possibly even just seeing a physical version and not just a render.

I don't usually agree with all your posts, but on this, I 100% agree with everything you said. Detachable mask would be much better than alternate head.
I wanted to be all in on this, but knowing S7 prices, I was going to be content with just Quicksilver and Mon-Star.
Now that they are revealed, Mon-star is even more expensive than I thought and Quicksilver isn't silver, so I'm not even sure I'll get a single figure.

I know they can't do "Vac Metal", but what about like how Mafex's and Figuarts' versions of Captain Phasma are? Neither is I believe Vac Metal, and both look great.

Even the "carbonized" thing they do to certain The Black Series figures would work.

Anything to make these seem metallic. That was THE appeal of these as a kid.

Mafex Phasma is vaccmetal actually. Both versions are. It works fine because of the segmented nature of the armor.

I'm a bit underwhelmed with the paint app they went with and even the face sculpts on the 2 silverhawks have a shampoo bottle figure look to them (might not be the case with the physical figures). I'm a impressed with mon-stars height but hope they're not counting the top of his head spike with that. I hate when companies do that.

55$ for these is a joke. bordering on some ponzi scheme type thing.

quality of sculpts for anything 4hm have done for s7 is in the shitter comparatively to some of the stuff they made for mattel. either '4hm' have had a massive personel overhaul (where they lost most of the talent they once had on staff) or they are just phoning it in with these.

aiming this at collectors is a pisstake of the highest order.

I am disappointed. These look cheap. Also, maybe my memory is wrong, but I remember them as having something of a metallic looking suit. These look flat! Face sculpts are like some toy you get with a happy meal. Pretty disappointing.

Given the molding work done, I would not be surprised if they they did a 'toon version then a 'toy version with the more metallic paint... ala Voltron

Look at the Thundercats and Thundertank, none have real metal paint applications, they've said this multiple times already, I can't believe people are still surprised bout the paint apps. They all look good to me for animation accurate style.

And the price is fine, do everyone here only buy $20 Marvel Legends or no imports ever or anything else pricier? These are packed figures. How many people do you think even remember Silverhawks, let a lone want to buy collectibles for them? That all goes in the price.

I was very excited for these, now that I've seen them I'm not. Need that metallic paint for me to change my mind.

Not to mention the constant delays with everything they produce.

That flat gray plastic just looks boring and cheap. I guess they're going for an animated look for these things, but even the cartoon made it pretty clear that they were supposed to look metallic.

Super7 are a boutique manufacturer with relatively low production numbers. For more fringe IP's (like Silverhawks, or Bravestarr, or Blackstar) its these guys or maybe Boss Fight or some other comparable company.

Only it should be expected when the owner of the company himself says they're going to use metallic paint and are looking to make them 'as shiny and metallic' as possible'.

Or not buying them at all.
Which is were I am leaning.

I have He-Man, Skeletor, and Lion-O from Super7. They all had QC issues. Skeletor's leg is warped and pushes on his rubber undies. He-Man had a huge glue spot his face. Lion-O had several paint issues.

If they want to be a premium collector's line and charge premium prices, they need to get it together and not send out shoddy figures.

I understand that vac-metal might be cost prohibitive, but metallic paint does exist. I really hope the physical versions look better than these renders.

Quicksilver's portrait looks to be based more on the promo paintings for the merchandise than the actual show. (Veering a little too far into Anson Mount territory.) I hope theirs a third head option.

Looks like S7's finally getting away from using slightly modified MOTUC bucks. If that's the case, and if the QC isn't their typical bad, I might give this a shot. Already gave up on Thundercats and TMNT Ultimates because of quality issues and just the fact that the Thundercats look like MOTU characters cosplaying as Thundercats.

Lack of metallic paint I'm okay with.

Hohowow

That bet-hedging over how they were in the cartoon (that the chrome was only a toy thing) was awkward. No, dude, that's just how chrome is drawn when you're on a budget. Look at the opening and how they're portrayed; when something is going to seen in every episode you get more money and time to spend per frame and can more accurately represent the intended look better than any random screencap from the show proper, and TMS went all out to make those mofos chromed out

All the TMNT Ultimates I have (all of them) are great. What quality issues did you have with them?

I would imagine we'll get more metallic looking repaints if these sell.

It boggles my mind that people are still whining about pricing on limited run adult collectibles. Expecting retail pricing or anything even close is just naive. And I think the QC complaints are from years ago, S7s recent offerings have been amazing. Top notch. These are renders, no where near final product. Hard core fans of Silverhawks will be all in.

It might be one of those things where the issues bother some people and don't bother others.

I found that some of the joints (esp. Foot Soldier) feel scarily flimsy/breakable to me, with some overly loose/overly tight joints (uneven tolerances) on various figures. One of Splinter's ankles was frozen. Tried a hair dryer, freezer, and eventually hot water to pull the foot off and pop it back on again, so that I could get it to move. But I had to stress the thin joint way more than I'd have liked in order to do that.

And this is not to mention things like their Super Cyborgs. I've heard the BAT is good, but my Megatron was covered with surface scratches all over the bare plastic, like somebody had cleaned it with a steel sponge, and my Op had areas where the paint had come off and were repainted poorly (you could see the gobs of paint).

I had two Ultimate Lion-O's at one point. On one, the head wasn't glued together properly, leaving a gap along the side. Neither one had a face that didn't have some sort of notable paint issue.

I had a Reaction Panthro where the belt cat logo was smudged off, and S7's customer service guy, instead of allowing me to exchange, blamed me for opening the figure (the bubble was fogged and I couldn't see the extent of the paint rub)...the 1st and last time I contacted S7 about anything.

They want to charge premium pricing? No problem. Give me premium quality a la Figuarts.

Joint tolerances and paint inconsistencies (sometimes poorly or thinly applied paint) are my general gripes with S7, across multiple lines (Filmation He-Man, T-Cats, TMNT, Reaction, etc). This isn't years ago. This is like last year.

Granted, these problems aren't unique to them, but for what they charge, I expect a bit more consistency. Or maybe I'm just consistent at getting the bad batches.

Who knows? Maybe Silverhawks will be flawless. If so, that's a win for everyone.

or it has to do with 'what' you get for your money. if these were modern bucks with detailed sculpts for 55$ (like multiple other companies are able to offer) then there's no reason for anyone to feel cheated.

but 55$ for a 15+ year old buck (that was old even back when it was supposed to be new) and shitty basic sculpts with little to no detail and very basic paint decos? that's some buku shit.

either 4hm's sculpt quality fell off a cliff or s club 7 is paying pennies on the dollar for 4hm to churn these sculpts out.

Steelheart looks great, def getting her, but yeah, I’m with people hoping for chrome versions. I feel like that’s the whole point of these designs.
