I picked this guy up on my birthday, very pleased with it. The minigun wasn't bent but the grip was snapped off, I can't really complain though because I had no intention to display him with the minigun anyway. I love the variety of weapons spanning pretty much the whole movie. I display mine with battle damaged head, grenade launcher in right hand, and shotgun in the left. Since his left hand's fingers are all sculpted together the shotgun is the only weapon he can independently hold in his left hand and look okay. Between this, Leatherface, and Freddy the Ultimate line is rocking. Jason hasn't even come out yet! I don't really like any of the Friday the 13th movies beyond the first but I still might get that part VI Jason anyway.
Great gallery as usual Joe

Wow. These close-up photos really showcase the attention to detail. Thanks for the great shots.
This figure strikes me as particularly good appearance-wise because the arm and leg joints are concealed in no small way by the wrinkly contours of the clothing: you see the character, not an assembly of parts. I don't know how much dialogue goes on between cinematic costume designers and their toy design counterparts, but IMHO this is a point worth remembering. (It was a no-brainer that Black Series Leia in slave garb would become a peg warmer. Yuck!) IMO, this figure is the best of the NECA Arnolds thus far. I'm off the fence. I'm going to try to get one with a straight, unbroken minigun. |

In package the minigun itself is covered by the ammo bag so it's kinda hard to gauge, not impossible but challenging. I am so glad I didn't stay on the fence for this one, he actually sold out at my TRU.

Thanks for the kind words guys. The details on the figure are great. I actually wanted to keep shooting this one. I think I like the sunglasses head the best right now.

Not getting what he's saying about the left leg, does he mean the only the left leg is articulated?

Both legs are articulated. The left leg has additional points of articulation. More so than is normal for a NECA figure.

Image 23 does a pretty good job at showing the left leg's additional articulation. They're both swivels, one is partway down the thigh/upper leg and the other is just above the bottom of the pants.

Hey Joe, good catch that NECA based this on their original T-800 figure...I noticed that right away when the first preview pics were released. But other than the exposed elbow pegs (which really aren't that noticeable, is it's black-on-black), the figure totally holds up to modern standards, which is amazing, since the base figure was released back in 2009. I have the original Cyberdyne Showdown figure and the paint apps are even better on the new figure.

The added heads and weapons make this a fantastic value for your money, as you can re-create NECA's Cyberdyne Showdown, T2 3D: Battle Across Time, and Steel Mill figures (a great thing since 99% of those figures on ebay are shitty Hong Kong counterfeits, with legit ones costing a fortune). It's a great modern update to a great figure. I hope the rumors are true that they're fixing to do the same treatment with the T1 T-800. I know he has two distinct looks in that movie, but if they're only going to do one of them, it should be the Police Station Assault figure, as that's his most iconic look from the movie with the Gargoyle shades and all (I hope they include the .45 Longslide just for the hell of it, even though he didn't have it by that point in the movie). Incidentally, am I the only person who noticed that Kyle spends the entire movie running around in sweat/pee/whoknowswhatelse-stained bum pants without so much as a pair of underwear to shield his nether regions? That makes the love scene with Sarah pretty f'in gross when you think about it... Quote:

For Kyle, there the possibility of Future Kyle and trench coat Kyle. And I think Randy said if they were to revisit T1, they'd look at booth Police Assault and Tech Noir T-800's for the ultimate treatment.

I was initially really bummed that my minigun was SO warped, but I fixed it. Just set up Arnold holding it and hit it with a hair dryer while pulling on the end of the barrels. Took a few times but now it's perfectly straight.
