Absolutely. The classics line needs to be infused with the people that broke their backs to build the business.
A Bockwinkle/Heenan 2 pack is pure win. As would be an AWA era Rick Martel.

God bless you Flint.
I have a signed "big gold belt" with sigs from Flair, Steamboat, Steiner, Jeff Jarrett, Orton, Batista, Jericho, Goldberg, Angle and am still hoping for Sting and Muta one day. I miss Pro Wrestling.

oh Flint isn't the only one. For me the old NWA was far better than WWF at the time. And thinking about this I miss the old day so factions. Evolution was the last true faction. Now you pretty much only have teams. That is what is missing the most. WCW nearly killed it with over saturation of the NWO. But back in the old days you had the Horsemen, Varsity Club, The LOD (no I'm not just talking Hawk and Animal I mean when Jake The Snake was part of it)

Ah, I remember those days of watching the NWA on Saturday TV when they were mainly taped at the Omni in Atlanta I believe when the 4 Horsemen were the original classics and the name and the hand sign for them actually meant something. Of course I mainly watched for the Rock 'n' Roll Express and Ricky Steamboat.

oh yeah even today when I put on a suit I have to give a big "whooooooooooo" and hold up the 4. But I will say this, I don't care who says what about Larry Z the last REAL AWA champion was Jerry Lawler.

Screw Larry Zybysco, I can't stand that guy. Lawler beat Hennig for the belt and that was tops.
Anyone catch the old AWA shows on ESPN classic?

I don't get a chance to that often. I've seen it on but most of the time been busy. On the other hand I do enjoy some of the old NWA stuff on WWE on Demand.

You know what's ridiculous is that we don't have the WWE 24-7 here, but I've seen those legends round tables, which are awesome.

yeah I'd like to see more of the legends round tables. They are showing one right now that has Flair, Foley, Taz and good ol JR. They are talking about most significant moments in wrestling history. Flair tells the story of how the first time he brought up "space mountain" The funny thing is after the story he said "oldest ride longest line" and kind of giggled like a kid. It was pretty funny.

Flair went pretty crazy in that episode from what I understand.

Oh yeah, saying he was crazy was an understatement. It's cool to see these guys saying some of this stuff.

It makes sense considering all of the "Major Players" are over 40 anyhow.

well the thing is there is a reason why VKM isn't using them. It's funny that WCW did the same thing. That is pretty much what Flair said about WCW. It wasn't a big deal that Bret or Scott or Kevin were there. VKM didn't want them. They were played out. Not quite the way I remember it with Brett but Scott and Kevin were not the best "in ring"
Side note I thought it was funny that Kevin Nash talked about how he stopped selling. He saw Jake Roberts do it and said "if he can get away not selling a punch like that and I'm twice his size I'll stop too" |

LOL.. @ Nash
But I hated Brett and was tired of him. When he went to WCW he flopped. I wasn't really suprised, after all it was WCW.

you know Brett wasn't what HE thought he was. But he was better than his WCW run. That is just another reason why I don't like Goldberg. Just a big guy who looks tough, is tough but is just as big of a danger to himself as he is to others. Guys spend their whole life donig the nesstea plunge from the ring to the floor with 0 padding in high school gyms for little more than gas money before they get one shot at glory yet the right look at the right place at the right time is pushed to the top only to hurt the rest of their big names and himself. I don't want to sound bitter about what WCW did but lets face it Goldberg at one point hurt Brett, Bam Bam, Hall and BPP! Those are just a FEW of the names he put out. Brett never came back! All because he didn't know what he was doing.
It reminds me of what Mic said about "uncle Terry" when he talked about how Terry's punches looked like they hurt for real. That's becasue he was hitting them for real. When Foley called him on it the Funker looked at him and said "well Hell boy, you didn't think I was really that good did you?" |

NWA was great.
This was the wrestling show that I watched. WWF was corny then as it is now. I watch it, but it's all we have left. TNA is cool, but the best part about is all the old WCW guys with the exception of Kurt Angle. Angle would be great anywhere. I know he whines constantly but that's just the roids. He is great in the ring.

Goldberg is the worst thing that ever happened to professional wrestling.
As for Angle, he is the one guy I am truly afraid is going to die in the ring. He is great, I was live at his last WWE match and he tore his abdomon, hamstring and something else and finished the match with RVD, which was a five star match mind you. TNA sucks over all though.
