I'm eager to see how Pixel Dan spins this to keep in the good graces of Super 7, or if he'll share our disappointment in his next vlog. I assume he'll be attending Power Con and I hope he confronts Brian Flynn about this and tries to get some details about what the future of this line may hold if Super 7 neglects to reveal anything themselves during their presentation this weekend. I'm also curious to see if Jaga and Grune will be inexplicably absent in the figure display this weekend even though they were front and center at last year's Power Con.

Exactly! Mattel couldn't secure enough support for the original line 4 years ago, so what makes Super 7 think they can do it now simply by offering minor upgrades of figures we already own? We need a LOT more incentive than a few new accessories to invest in it a 2nd time around. If there's somehow a bunch of new collectors out there that missed these the first time and can fund this new line, then where were they when we and Mattel needed them 4 years ago? Don't know why so many people think the reviewers are celebrities or have some magical powers. They all buy their cheerios at Walmart just like everyone else.

Why does it matter how he "spins it?" He's a single person giving an opinion on something. Just like anyone on the forums. If he fawns over it, that's his right. and same if he shreds it. I doubt that'll affect his access to any figures.

And even at the very least..open preorders for the re-releases AND either unveil or tease a new character or just simply announce that more figures are coming. |

I'm not sure why I keep reading that the line ended because if lack of sales or interest. The way I understood it at the time, the line was dead before it even came out because Mattel killed Mattycollector. That's why super 7 was given the license for the motuc line.

I'm just happy we have these. Beggars can't be choosers. At least I'll have some Thundercats before I am dead.

$45 PLUS shipping.
The same figures Mattel already did with all of their outdated articulation and decade old reused parts. Does Super 7 think they are Bandai and this line is part of the Figuarts one? Out of all of the 80s toy line revivals, I have never seen any fanbase get fucked over as much as the Thundercats one. Is it any wonder why I stopped being one?

I think S7 could've made everyone happy (or at least content) if they mixed the re-releases with new figures, that would've been ideal,IMO.

I really think it's fine they are doing these re-issues, there are a lot of folks who didn't get the originals, and it's good / needed to start fresh.
As people said, PowerCon is this weekend, so hopefully they show off future figures, new molds. Give clarity on the future of the line. That is all I would have wanted at launch in addition to these even if it means waiting for these to come and go first. If they didn't have access to Mattel's stuff, the Four Horsemen redid their original work to the T here, they are from a distance the same. Jaga / Grune would be in the same boat, whichever way it is. That being said, I personally think they should be pushed farther down the road. Tygra, Cheetara, Slithe, Ever Living Mumm Ra. Get them out and then I'll consider going deeper roster. Until they are out I don't trust this line will ever complete the core. Nothing against Super 7, just TCPTSD (Thundercats Collector PTSD). |

That one's easy. I passed because I refuse to buy Mattel products 99% of the time.

Nope. I'll be getting them. I just don't support Mattel.

The extra hands and stuff justify the price for me. On a side note, your the second Pixel Dan hater I have come across in the last 24hrs. I didn't know people didn't like him. I like him. I think he does a good job. But to each his own I guess.

Someone asked Brian on face book and he said there are 16 more figures coming.

I don't hate him -- quite the contrary. Did you not see my follow up post? I watch his youtube videos regularly and love his commentary and reviews on toys. I just worry he's going to gush like a fanboy over Thundercats being revived without addressing the obvious concerns when he no doubt does a video about this announcement soon. As I said earlier, he has direct access to guys like Flynn and gets one-on-one interviews with them, unlike any of us, so I hope he interviews Flynn on video at Power Con and brings up these issues rather than simply kissing butt and saying "Wow, Thundercats is back! That's great!" because the future of this line is a big concern and what was revealed today is not a promising start.

Wow. Toy collectors are the most fickle bunch on the fucking planet.
The Mattel Thundercats figures were excellent. Its perfect for Super 7 to relaunch this way. They had no choice. Imagine the whining and crying if they didn’t reissue Lion-O. People can easily jump in now and it’s cool that people can now get Mummra without having to buy a subscription (which was the only way to get him before). Already own these? No worries. Don’t buy them. Wait for the next wave to jump back in. This is just a level set. Try and be happy that we’re getting another go at this line. |

It's easy to say that IF there was greater confidence in this line lasting, but after so many failed starts with Thundercats in the modern toy industry, it's hard to have faith in getting much more beyond wave 1. I just dread 6 months from now Super 7 telling us "Well... we didn't quite hit the sales numbers were were hoping for with wave 1, so we're not going to do a 2nd wave." (because too many people who already own these figures passed on them without assurance that there would be something NEW coming too.). $180 is a lot to pay for 4 figures (whether you already own them or not) without any strong indication we'll get more after that. Contrary to popular opinion, Pixel Dan is not a big Thundercats fan. He only had Lion-o as a kid. He follows it and posts news on it mostly because of its association with motu and because his fan base cares.

I hope we see a corrected Lion-o with the same length of legs. Mattel's was awesome but his right leg is just a little shorter than his left.
