Everyone in charge at Playmates should be ashamed of themselves. These are an absolute embarrassment. They just keep getting lazier and lazier, putting out zero effort, and showing that they shouldn't be making toys. I know Jazwares gets crapped on a lot, but these atrocities are a hundred times worse than anything they have EVER put out. Hey, here's a great idea. We've got a giant tentpole blockbuster movie coming up. Why put any effort at all in the tie in toys?

Sorry, but when NECA and DC Collectibles can put out beautiful figures with more articulation, better sculpts, and and more detailed paint jobs for only a few dollars more, there is zero excuse. YOU SUCK, PLAYMATES. And I hope someone there reads this. You should get out of the action figure game.

Apparently someone thought the name "Foot Soldier" meant basic military grunt instead of a low-level member of a ninja clan called "The Foot". So more like a little f than a capital F.

That's pretty much the only movie redesign that really bugs me, too. The others I'm kind of neutral about - even Mikey's weird lips. I might get some of the toys if I can pick them up cheap, but for now I'm saying pass.

Shit in a bucket, then throw a Marvel Universe figure in there next to it. There's all the comparison you'll need.

C'mon people don't be harsh, give these toys a chance. Sometimes we see toys that we think we don't like but they kinda grow on us. I have yet to see these in person or the SRP to make a decision.

Anyway, the comparison pic makes me feel these are around 5". I want to say I'm fine with it as a 1/18 collector, but the weapons and the figures sans the turtles will look oversized or downright goofy.

Is that your sighting, Prof. or someone else's? Seems newsworthy to me, even if the majority opinion on those toys is less than favorable.

I've seen the Nick turtles in the 8.99-9.99 range. But yeah that is a little odd. I wonder if it has to do with the mixed reviews in general? Maybe they think they won't be selling too well?

I can actually see myself buying them all except for the crappy merc. I'm not totally happy with Splinter, but I do like him better than the odd-looking 'toon toy.

My guess is that was the price point they were aiming for. The sculpts themselves are fairly detailed, but, especially on the Turtles, the paint apps are fairly basic. By limiting articulation and reducing the number of paint apps and masks needed, they're keeping the costs down.

On the bright side at least these things look like they have a little bit better articulation than the 5 POA stuff that seems to peg warm everywhere.

That actually scales pretty well then to GI Joe and MU.
These turtles are a little bit bigger than the average person per how the trailer depicts them, so that scale might really work on movie themed dios.

I'm torn on these... I'm just not sure WHAT I am looking at... The tmnt looks like it's stealing from every other movie and throwing it together as a hodgepodge...
Raph= turtle hulk
Mike= Jonah Hill as a turtle wearing wolverine's pants
Don= turtle wearing Ray Stanz ghostbusters goggles
Leo= turtle wearing mini blinds
Splinter= iron man 3's mandarin in rat form
Foot ninja = beachhead or reject henchvillain from 60's batman show
Shredder looks decent, but wtf? He's got more gear on him than iron man and new green goblin combined... Waaaay too busy...

Oh well... If we are lucky, it'll fail miserably, the property will disappear for a few years, then we can try again... Without Michael bay.
