Inflation and the rising costs of materials have pushed all toy prices higher. $13 today is roughly equivalent to about $7 in 1988.

What's funny is that the last time they re-released the Party Van at TRU, it was only $19.99 and not on clearance. I remember because I constantly debated on getting one. I guess TRU has their own definition of inflation.

You should've grabbed it! Now it's $59.99!

I'm definitely excited for these. I never did have Splinter or Shredder growing up, so there's no way I'm going to pass on them. I just hope these aren't too hard to find, and that we actually get to see all of the second wave.
I'm still debating if I should open them up, or keep them in their nice packaging. I'm planning on keeping any of the 6" figures I get in-package, so it would make sense to then open these. Would help if the Party Wagon wasn't so expensive, or if I could find my original one. Having that would make opening them a no-brainer. The Mech Wrekkers are...interesting. Not something I'll get, but I like that Playmates is looking outside the box these days. Now, how about we get a reissue of the Turtle's blimp?

No foot soldier ???
Don't know if I should even pick these up or not... I have the 4 turtles and rocksteady from the previous realse. But missing the rest... I don't like that they changed the packaging and no DVD included with the turtles.. |

I wish they would re-issue Mondo Gecko and Casey Jones.

The Foot Soldier is being released in wave two of these, along with Krang (who I don't think has been reissued before), and possibly some others. The way they were talking made it sound like there were more to come.
I like the packaging. It's not exact, but looks enough like the original packaging to make me happy. As for them lacking a DVD, that doesn't bother me. Would only increase the cost, and didn't all the '09 reissues have the same DVD anyways? That and if I get the show on DVD, I'll just get the complete series set and call it a day.

If I'm correct I believe the all the turtles have diff. Episodes on the DVD .. And you're so right about price being higher if they came with it. Well, looks like ill be putting in my pre Oder for these... |

I've been thinking about pre-ordering them, but I think I'll just wait to find them at retail. Which reminds me, has there been any word as to any other stores possibly stocking these? or will these end up TRU only items?

This is where I'm glad I picked up the Party Wagon last go around. Now to debate if I really want Splinter and Shredder for my collection.
Honestly they need to re-release the blimp. |

That would be a must-have if they ever did it. Hopefully it'll be brought up in the next Q&A session. Maybe at NYCC later this year? Would at least be nice to see how they react to the idea. I have to wonder if they even have the mold for it anymore.

*Looks at Mech figures*
Why did Playmates cram 1988 toys into the M.E.C.H. Wrekkers from the 2k3 toyline? Seems kinda random IMO. |

I don't have a huge problem with $13 (probably $14 in Canada) Turtles, but a $60 Party Van? Waiting for clearence. I would kill to own it, since the one I had as a kid was missing every accesory and sticker since I got it at a yard sale, and I never owned the turtles. This is, price aside, perfect for me. But being nostalgic is expensive.

if only Playmates still had the rights to Star Trek, I could go for a dose of re-issued 90's Star Trek goodness

Why? That line is practically worthless now. Have you see how little most of those figures sell for on Ebay? You could easily re-collect much of the line as a reasonable price.

Not terribly interested in paying $13 for something that I've already got :| Why are these more than the regular Nick figures? I remember the last time these came out all of the Turtles and especially Aprils still sat on pegs. I ended up just straight up getting an April at TRU on clearance for like $3 back in 2011 because there were about 10 Aprils and a Leo still hanging around that long.
