I love Shredder, but why is he so pricey?

At $32 that's not bad. Unique mold that won't be reused again, cloth cape, and this isn't a big box store release. It's a not even a ML body, at least I don't think.
In contrast Drakkon Evo 3 was $50(now $57) and that uses the standard body every other male figure has in the line. |

The design of Shredder's helmet has more serrations which I would have loved to see but knew it would be less pronounced and smoothed out with Hasbro for young children safety sake, from pics looks like it. Will wait to see it on the shelves, maybe wait for a sale. Of the different lines Hasbro has Power Rangers Lightning has had more paint QC issues than the others for me. Those reds like in the eyes just make me hesistant. |

Well the Fortnite "switch" one was a surprise, Jazwares was doing a decent job granted you can find Hasbro products more easily in many more retailers. Yes I know Jazwares still retained it for their 4" line.

The serrations probably have less to do with safety and more that the plastic they use for heads isn't friendly for that level of detail at such a small scale. Want to see a QC problem, imagine the warping that would occur. |

Hasbro did a good job with these. I wish they would do more TMNT instead of Playmates. Hasbro should try getting the licence.

Unless Playmates goes under and is forced to lose all of their licenses, that probably won't happen. Ninja Turtles as a toyline is one of Playmates' main IPs so they likely aren't inclined to sell it so easily to the competition, this is why so far every other company who's had a go at the basic license has been forced to go store-exclusive (like NECA or DCC) or is a company with offerings in a totally separate price range as to not be considered "competitive" (like SHF or Super7). I think the only reason NECA's video game based turtles aren't exclusive is because Playmates doesn't own those games and has never done anything based on them so they don't consider those competition to any of their lines. Having said all that, I would like to see Hasbro take a stab at regular Ninja Turtles since they'd probably give us some pretty nice figures.

Shredders's box is so wide with so few contents.

Such a waste. They have ranger teams that haven't been finished in over a year, main villains that have yet to be done for those series they have partial teams out for, yet, they go and waste time on a spin-off what if story from a franchise that already has a million different iterations available.

Shredder takes the cake with this wave, great one off sculpt and cloth cape makes me willing to hit the asking price. If I had to come up with one complaint though, I’d have liked an unmasked alternate head. But that’s just me nitpicking. Gotta clear a cube in the detolph now.
