It's not just the eyes, the face has weird lines. Doesn't look chiseled either, looks sickly or old. They really dropped the ball with this one. The proto-type was almost perfect but they really screwed the pooch!

Do all the Superman figures have the pink under the eyes like that? It makes him look sick. Other than that, I've warmed up to the figure a bit and I understand why they positioned the head on the neck the way they did.

Same here. My Icons Superman doesn't have that gross "pink eye" paint on it. It's a shame that so many others seem to have that problem.
I guess that Kryotonian physiology and our yellow sun are no match for conjunctivitis

You know actually, the way the eyes are and the sculpt of the face reminds me of Christopher Reeve as Superman as he turned back time.

The Superman action figure should have a fabric cape; enough with the cheap plastic capes.

I disagree. The capes on the Icons are perfect. They are a nice soft rubbery material so they can be plyable like any cloth cape, but don't have any loose threads hanging around and they look way nicer because they are sculpted in a pattern.

finally opened Superman and ....it's a very average figure.. not bad...but...I'm not looking at it thinking how damn cool it is.
He DOES have the pink eye thing..but barely noticeable to the casual naked eye. The thigh gaps I've heard so much about are QUITE noticeable when his legs are close together. I AM a fan of the rubber\plastic cape..would not want fabric. He does't really have "flying" hands. that second set of hands is odd..like "not quite" a grab. i like that his boots are not just painted on his legs...but raised and separate. I like the torso and ab cruch.. Face sculpt is a ...little....weird/odd/off..i'm not sure. I give it a 'smidgen' above average. this is probably my....**looking at set**..least favorite(that's not saying i don't like him) in the line thus far. Aquaman was close

I think figures based on comics or cartoons always look better with sculpted plastic capes as it keeps the look appropriate. If it's based on live action portrayals then I think it depends but I feel more inclined to say soft goods at that point.

Sculpted capes aren't so bad for Superman, but I really prefer cloth for Batman because I don't want to be stuck with the cape in one unchanging position. I like to be able to put it in the spread/gliding position. Of course, that doesn't really matter if the cape is cloth and shaped in a permanent "down" position, as is the case with Mattel's cloth capes. Rubber also makes it hard to fit the figure into a vehicle, and obviously Batman is a very vehicle-oriented character.

That Harley has to be one of the most beautiful figures of the year! Out of the box she is just pure eye and hand candy! From the face sculpt, to the body sculpt, to the paint apps and classic costume styling, the accessories, and the list goes on and on. I've always been, and always will be a Marvel guy, and thus a Marvel Legends collector over DC Icons/Designer Series. Whilst I do have a handful of DC Icons figures, this Harley takes the cake by a million miles and then some! Everything about her is near perfect, I can't imagine a better classic Harley Quinn, and I think that this will be THE definitive version of her for years to come. I'm almost tempted to even replace my SH Figuarts Injustice Harley with this Icons one, which many of you would know is no easy feat. That Figuarts Injustice Harley is awesomely epic (as is the upcoming Suicide Squad version), but this one truly gives it a run for its money. I know I'm practically gushing out of my eyeballs for this little piece of plastic, but this figure is worth it. If you don't have one and are a DC or Harley fan, go out and get one right now! If only she scaled with my extensive Marvel Legends collection.. *sigh* You can't win 'em all puddin...
