Running some pick up on recent figures that aren't necessarily hot off the presses. First up - Battle Droid:

The thought of a battle droid was completely meh to me but in hand it's really an awesome figure. Great detail, little wear and tear details on the body, amazing articulation considering the limitations of having a really accurate body.

Not sure what the right word is but the sharpness of the molding is incredible. Hasbro and their rubbery plastic would never be able to create a reasonable battle droid. I've got 2 battle droids and finally have my Obi-Wan in hand today. I keep thinking if I should get more since I can't see anyone else making such a nice rendition.

Maybe they'll do a web exclusive of one of those variants they showed off a few shows ago.

Next up - Clone Trooper

Really solid figure. Not into clones too much, but keeping this one in the rotation.

Darth Maul does NOT wield dual lightsabers (unlike Ahsoka), he wields a DOUBLE-BLADED lightsaber which is WELDED together. When he fought Qui-Gon, he ignited ONE side of his blades, the extra long handle you can clearly see. It became a single-bladed lightsaber after it was CUT. He never dual wielded lightsabers.

For the purposes of this photo shoot, he wields dual lightsabers.

So?

Are you saying you have never done things with your figures for pictures just for fun?

Xenomorphs never did this in the movies either:

Oh, here we go again. Fine, I'm not here to fight. Do whatever you want.

We will, but we don't require your blessing to do so. Thanks.

For the record, Darth Maul also never stood next to a different Darth Maul, fought his slightly different doppelganger, or killed clones or battle droids in the Phantom Menace. I mean, if you're going to complain about the inaccuracy of film recreation in a toy photo shoot, at least hit all the relevant points.

Seriously, I apologize, I meant no dis-respect. You know I appreciate all the work that's done here at Toyark, and I really enjoy the board. Thanks.

It's all good. I was just playing up a joke scenario. I'm a very light hearted guy. Fun is the key word with this stuff, and especially our shoots. Our goal, at least my goal, with the shoots is a "See, you can be doing this too" with poses and figure setups.

Whew! Thank you. I guess that was just my Star Wars geek outburst. You know, like that SNL skit where the guy goes "no no no, that's not how the Millenium Falcon lands, like this 'pew', 'pew', 'pew'..."

It's all good man, I hear you. I know it never went down like that in the movie, but they always give it to you like that in toy form. My personal fan fiction is that it did do that, he just chose not to use em while we were looking. All other expanded info on the saber isn't canon anymore anyway so my fantasy counts.

Just got this on Ebay, new in box, $58.

Also lost my mind and dropped $70 for Kylo Ren, $60 for Obi Wan and $60 for a Luke pre-order. RIP: My Wallet

Geeze...Obi Wan looks SICK. That second expression is unreal. I've had no real interest in the Figurearts brand in terms of Star Wars, but with this one, I may change my way of thinking. And you get Qui-Gon's saber as well (one of my favorite looking throughout all the movies.) Wow.
