I have these and the Mattel releases. You know what, I prefer the super7 figures. They feel solid 2 me, I love all the extras and I’m excited for more. I actually had them in my living room for the past week, usually when I open toys, they go rite to the toy room. Nope, I enjoyed fiddling with them while watching a movie at night. These are great toys and super7 as really been improving.

Now where the hell is my snake mountain. I ordered day! Lol.

Great pics as always, by the way.

I agree. I don't think that they are leaps and bounds better engineering or execution wise, but the are the same or slightly better. Extras make it worth it, and if you had to choose fresh right now, Super 7 ones would be the choice just for that. You lose nothing with the Super 7 ones, and do gain extra stuff. If you don't like the richer paint, that's the only pull for the originals.

You can wait for your snake mountain. I'm waiting for my Thundertank. To be announced.

While I do like the new features, I kind of ddislike the "plasticky" look on the paint job, specially on Liono's face. Its something I do not like in general with super7, their flesh tones.

Panthro’s shorts are the wrong color blue. They should be dark blue like on the mattel release. Jackalman is also missing paint apps on his neck that the mattel release had. His calves are still reversed also.

Yeah, most are aware of that already. S7 are sending out the correct parts to people in November.

My only issue is my S7 Panthro has a crooked ThunderCats emblem on his belt. Its not centered and is nearly coming off the red circle... I NEVER return figures unless they are literally defective and broken when I take them out of the package... but the crooked Thundercats symbol does irritate me. Everything else is perfect save for the corrections that S7 has already noted and is sending replacement parts for.

I haven't paid attention to these releases, but had considered them. Are they sending things out if you buy from a retailer?

BBTS is. I emailed them to confirm when I heard the announcement about the replacement parts.

Was a bit confused with the comparison photos. The new figure is on the right in each except for Panthro where it's on the left. Threw me off a bit, might confuse others.

You are correct, my bad. I switched them around and re-uploaded, added a note.

Hehe, he definitely is. I can work with a vintage one if somehow they didn't get to him. What I personally want, and have wanted since Bandai US was doing Classic figures in 2011...

Lion-O
Cheetara
Tygra
Panthro
Wilykit
Wilykat
Jaga (ghost)
*Snarf

Mumm-Ra
Mumm-Ra Ever Living
Slithe
Jackalman
Monkian
** Vultureman (added, yes)
*Ma-Mutt

Anything beyond that is gravy. I know folks into Thundercats more like I am into TF and Joe would disagree, and I appreciate that. But for me, that's core and what I want out on display.

If they don't have Snarf as a pack-in with the twins I have a feeling he's going to be a pack-in with a second version of Lion-O. I have nothing to back that up with, just a feeling..

Yeah, I think for those of us who like Thundercats, but who aren't diehard fans, that list is likely what most of us want. It's the essentials. Everything else is, like you said, gravy. I'm still unsure if I want to just get those essentials, or go one step farther and get the other cats (Pumyra, Bengali, Lynx-O).

Yep I'd go with that, though I think I'd throw Vultureman in as well.

Yes, you are correct on Vultureman. I always forget about him because he wasn't part of the original trio. I'd be down with him, but Ratar-o etc I'd be ok skipping.

That all being said, I'm getting everything Super 7 puts out. Whether or not they make the shelf cut long term is the question.

I was trying to work out why I have a connection to the character, does anyone remember the old 3" figures? There was a belt you could get to clip them into. I think I had a Vultureman in that scale!

I got Panthro last weekend and he's glorious. The paints apps are near perfect. Maybe it was just the first batch of figures out of the factory that were a little rough?

Anyway, put Lion-O in my pile of loot and I'm just realizing that I'll be getting the Jackalman's weapons to use for my Mattel Jackalman, so I kinda feel like I'm getting away with something....
