I try to keep the packaging if possible. Then use plastic storage bins as well when I need to pack them up.
I've never heard of perfume negatively affecting figures. Likely would only be an issue if sprayed directly onto the figures and there was something overly corrosive in there. Also, welcome to the site.

For loose figures, I use archive quality polypropylene bags and put all the bagged figures in plastic storage bins. G-Zip seems to be a popular site. If you do some digging, I know I saw a link to them from ultraman zoffy sometime in the last week or so. Maybe in the Marvel 6" thread? Might take some digging but there are links around here somewhere.

For any loose figure, I place it in a zip lock with all paperwork and accessories, and then place it in a rubbermaid bin. Sometimes I label the bags sometimes not. Anything that is still sealed or in box, depending on size, also go in a bin. I have a lot of bins.

One thing to remember about ziploc bags is they have acid content so they could damage the figures.

I have had my figures in various brands of plastic bags and none of them have ever been damaged in any way.
