Im a big DC guy but no contest here. shortlived line of established characters or completely new property that is now one of the dominant forces in the toy world. Transformers are gonna take it all.
Incidentally I have never owned a single transformer.

"shortlived"? I feel like almost every toyline DC has put out trembles beneath the mighty shadow of Super Powers.

I can respect the transformers love, but I don't understand it. Talking robots that don't give me driving directions or make me sandwiches do nothing for me.

Just as the Super Powers toy line influences every subsequent DC line, so the same can be said for G1. As far as their respective original runs are concerned, G1 far and away exceeds SP.

So in that sense, yes, SP was a short-lived toy line by comparison.

And plastic men in goofy outfits who can't save me a trip to the airport or give me a Bat-Mint if I've got halitosis hold no interest to me, either.

More than meets the eye!

Interestingly enough, most SP figures in that poster have a DCUC counterpart. Pretty cool!

I had every single one of those Transformers as a kid... only had Supes, Batman, Penguin, Lex, and Joker of DC.

Sorry Superfriends, but TF was a better line in every aspect. Cartoon was better, toys were better, etc.

Only thing DC did better was live action movies. lol

What's all those in the bottom row of the poster? I know those weren't released; and some of them I can't even recognize.

38. Metallo
39. El Dorado
40. Vigilante
41. The Creeper

They were all planned to be part of the fourth wave, but the line was cancelled before they got released.

All the love and respect in the world to DC, but I didn't even know what "DC" was until many years after my childhood was claimed for Cybertron. Transformers all the way.

The implication here, of course, is that DC Superpowers action figures CAN do these things. To each his own play-value gimmick. #ArkhamLife ;P
