I dig it. I love the 19, so I'll be grabbing one of these for sure.

interesting.. but some clarification needed.. the hi metal line is separate from the vf100 line? does that mean a hi metal vf25 would be somewhere down the pipeline? and is the vf100 line kinda done because of this?

I'm pretty sure the HI-METAL line is the reincarnation of the 1/100 line. It's like 1/100 2.0.

This. I think part of the reason the Fire Valk has significantly less parts swapping involved than the VF100's VF-25 Messiahs is because of the complaints Bandai received. I think the VF100's VF-25's are done for the most part, aside from a few more releases. I wouldn't be surprised if Bandai makes an all new VF HI-METAL VF-25 with perfect transformation next spring. |

Maybe.
Though the biggest problem with the VF-100s was not the parts swapping IMO (they're display pieces, NOT toys). It's the cost. They fall somewhere between a kit and a DX for a figure nearly half the scale of both!! They also failed to capitalize on what they did with the Gundam figures, in that they didn't offer after market decals to customize the figures. The ideal product for those who don't want a DX, but would still prefer to customize their valks like a model kit. At least they are marketing the Kai as a "model" and not a toy, but the compromises in the sculpt to make it transform makes it fugly IMO. I'll be passing on it, even though I DO like the metallic paint finish. Last edited by zinjo; 11-10-2009 at 09:45 AM.. |
