Back in July, I went to Jordan Hembrough's (The Toy Hunter) store Hollywood Heroes in northern New Jersey with a couple of my toy collecting friends. He had an amazing collection of vintage TMNT figures there, so I picked up a few that I had when I was a kid. I came away with Krang inside the android body, Ray Fillet, and Baxter Stockman. Pictures are attached. I already can't wait to go back up there and keep reclaiming the toys that I lost or broke as an irresponsible kid.

Not terribly unreasonable for the shape they were in. The cardback on the Krang figure had a bit of wear on the bottom corners, and the bubble was a little cloudy, but not too bad. The other two figures were in near perfect condition, both unpunched. Got away for $160 for the three.

Here's another crop of my childhood TMNT collection. My parents had them in their basement when I went over for Thanksgiving. They were in a bag with some old Ghostbusters figures that I will post in another thread. I still have Raphael, Michaelangelo, and Donatello, but not Leonardo. I also have Rocksteady and Mondo Gecko. All the figures are unfortunately incomplete and pretty banged up, but still in one piece otherwise.

Yeah, to have any of it left was as close to a miracle as I could imagine. I was 30 years old and I was choking back tears when my parents told me they had something left. I had so much more that I either lost or broke, so I still have a lot to buy back. Hopefully my wallet will permit that someday, haha.

As do I. So many great memories attached to them. One of my main missions in life is recollecting everything I lost.

Nice. I am collecting the original TMNT playmates 1988 10 back carded figures. Currently have 5/5 figures in box and 3/5 playmates/bandai 1988 vehicles. Bandai was the uk distributer hence they are renamed to teenage mutant hero turtles.

Awesome, IndianaJoe! I've seen some of the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, at the Toy Hunter's store and elsewhere. Post some pictures of what you've found?

Nice find!! I literally just gave away a large bin of all the original figures... a friend at work told me his grandson is crazy about them, so i decided to just let him have them. Better then sitting in a storage or garage collecting dust and dirt.

They were called TEENAGE MUTANT HERO TURTLES here in UK. Even the theme song and opening of the cartoon was changed. There is a huge demand for TMHT carded figures.

I have a few of the original TMNT figures, mostly with their accessories missing, and I wasn't at all kind to the villain figures(some duck guy, Baxter as a fly, a blue sea creature, and a big-chinned army guy) and most of them ended up with missing hands. Leonardo, Michelangelo, and Donatello are in good condition other than missing accessories, Splinter too though his clothes are long gone.
As you can guess from my lack of knowledge of some of the villains' names, I haven't been all that invested in the franchise for a long time. I was mostly a fan of the cartoon when I was young and at some point moved on from it to Batman, Superman, and Power Rangers. I had quite a few of the vehicles and accessories that have long since been given away. Technodrome and Turtle Van for Christmas over 25 years ago, the Turtle Blimp, and some sort of pizza-launching contraption. Recently, I bought a couple of the reissue figures(the original Raphael and Krang). I had a bit of trouble getting Raphael to stand because the feet weren't even. |
