Of all the Marvel movies coming out this year, this is the one I'm not thrilled about. I guess X3 and Origins left a sour taste in my mouth for the franchise. I'll see it of course, since I'm sucker for super hero films, but I'm least excited about.

I can see why you would say that but I think it's going to be a step up for X-Men. They're not so focused on the merchandise to lose focus on what matters the most.....The Story!

I hope you're right. I want to be excited to see it. I want to be coming out of the movie pleasantly surprised at how good it is. We'll see I guess.

I am very excited for this. It may have some continuity errors (just counting the other films) but it looks good. With Bryan Singer producing it I think it'll be at least as good as the first. Because I love X-Men so much.
I actually hope they make figures for the film in the 3.75 scale, but outlook not good. Considering they've got Thor, CA, Iron Man, and MU lines already. Anywho, this video has been circling the interwebs. It's a fan-made opening credits that is pretty rad, in a 60's Bond-film style. Listen closely to the theme. Personally I'd rather go see Green Lantern than this movie, and I'm not even a GL fan.

It wasn't perfect, but I would definitely say that it is worth seeing. I've heard a lot of people say that it was too heavy of dialogue and didn't have enough action, but I disagree. The dialogue is a crucial part of the film and it gives fans a reason to still care about X-Men films, if at all. It was made for fans, and that is why I'll probably see it again. And Azazel was fucking awesome, he needs a figure. Badly.

Good movie. Loved Kevin Bacon as Shaw.

I saw it the other day and really enjoyed it. I didn't mind so much that it wasn't very "comic accurate". I thought it was a great movie that stands up well on its own.

Astro projection of himself.... or at least that is how I would spin it off. IF I considered that HORRIBLE HORRIBLE movie (wolverine origins) to still be tied in with anything in the X-Men movie series. lol

I still feel it is secretly a reboot. I would be extremely disappointed if it wasn't. I feel it was the best CBM of the year.

I liked origins more than first class. First class missed out a lot of the comic ideas.

Sorry to bump an old thread. But this comes out on DVD on the 9th I believe. Which is good, as I was in the bathroom when Hank turned into Beast.

That's what she said.
But seriously, that movie was one of the best of the summer. Better than any of the other super hero movies released this year IMHO. The only movie this summer I enjoyed more was Rise of the Planet of the Apes. |

Yes this one was defiantly one of my favorite comic book movies this year too. Followed by Cap. America. Then Thor. Then GL.

I remember going into seeing this thinking it was going to suck hard and ending up absolutely loving it. The only reason my and my friend went to see it was I had two free tickets because I picked up two of the other X-Men movies on Blu-ray. Anyway bought it yesterday and it's still one of my favorite movies ever. The only thing I'm still meh about is the team choices. It seems like they just pulled random names out of a hat and said okay they're on the team. Hopefully the next movie can have some of the REAL first class on the team since Prof. X should have the school started. *crossesfingersforcyclopsbeingamaincharacter*

I'm watching First Class right now. It looks great on the TV. I feel like this is a move I can watch over and over.
