I wanna set up a current-continuity Marvel Universe Avengers diorama in my room, but it's tough for me to choose which Cap to use. I'm talking about Steve Rogers, modern day-Cap.

There's the series 1 "Ultimate" Cap - Ultimate. meh.

Secret Wars Cap - Way too bright.

SDCC Invaders Cap - Probably my personal favorite, but this mold's head is so tiny and frigid looking, it bothers me. I feel like it isn't to scale. Nice utility belt, though.

Marvel's Greatest Battles two-pack w/ clawed shield - Nice figure, and the clawed shield is sweet, but a bit TOO shiny, and once again, I have the head issue.

Captain America: The First Avenger Comic series Cap - I dig this one, even though he looks a little too stocky sometimes. The head looks also looks odd at times. What bothers me the most is the simple belt. I like a utility belt on my Cap.

What do you guys suggest? Superhero Showdown Cap? He looks diseased to me. I might have to just do a pre-Fear Itself Avengers diorama, and settle for Bucky Cap and add Commander Steve Rogers when he's released.

i think the best version so far is the sdcc invaders cap despite the tiny head, and body being a bit too slender. the colors on the uniform are pretty great and the belt rules as you have stated.

I'd have to with the mu ultimate captain America. I feel that this figure us the best representation of captain America. Although superhero showdown had some great figures, the cap is probably the worst.
The bucky cap from the movie line is probably my favorite and the ww2 cap is also a great figure.

Greatest Battles 2pack w/ Wolverine. Besides Bucky, I dont think you can even list any from the movie line IMO.

I would have to say my favorite version is the Kmart exclusive 3pack Cap. Cause you get the new First Avenger toyline Cap, but with a perfect coat of paint and detail

SDCC WWII Cap. Brilliant figure. I was abit annoyed that they released the exact same figure as part of the cap line, especially when it was meant to be an exclusive and obviously i paid a higher premium for it. but atleast the SDCC one is in better and more on model colours.

I think my new fav will be the MU Steve Rogers when that comes out though.

My favorite Cap figure is the Cap Movie Line's Bucky, but I also think the Cap Movie Line's regular movie Cap (forget the official name, but the movie version of him) is pretty under-rated. Yeah, it's different looking, but it's a nice figure with loads of detail.

I'm not a big fan of any of the MU cap's released so far. They lack a bit of character.
Even with a lower grade of plastic and some iffy paint apps the Bucky Cap from the movie line is easily the best, but the Super-Solider Steve Rogers yet to be released looks like the best. I'm hoping that they will revisit this beloved character in the future in the same way they have with Punisher and Daredevil. Surely the sentinel of liberty deserves a super articulated high-end re-sculpt!

K-mart 3 pack cap, all the way. Good, muscular build, solid man-head and sweet, almost denim-ish paint job. pretty much what Nexodus said.

I hate the three pack head. It's using U.S. Agent's head. It works for U.S. Agent, because he's supposed to be all square jawed and "jarhead" looking, but Cap's always had more of a smaller jaw than that.

The Invaders one captures teh Old Glory feel & I love it. The Ult. Cap from MU was very well done & so was the comic series Bucky Cap since th eother one looked awkward with the DD buck.

the k-mart 3 pack doesn't use the u.s. agent head. it's the exact same cap from the single card, only with better paint apps.
only bummer about it is the knee not being as articulated as the single card. it would be my favorite but i think the blue on the uniform is still a little too dark.

I thought the Kmart 3 pack cap was trash and did use the us agents head as they look very similar. I only bought it for the red guardian mostly and kinda wanted the captain britain. Could have done without ANOTHER subpar Captain America.
Ill have to post some comparison pics later.

Yeah, you know, Hasbro STILL hasn't given us a really great classic Captain America figure. The ones from the movie line all have issues, none of them are spot on. The Bucky Cap is awesome! Why can't they give us a great classic Cap. Looks like we're finally getting a great Punisher, they should use that same buck for an updated classic Cap.

Huh. I just double checked and you're right. I was totally thinking of Bucky Cap's head.

I'm really digging the movie version figure. Brought him to Africa with me this time.

Also quite fond of my SDCC gray-scale Cap. I think that's a pretty nifty idea.

Movie Series super combat Captain America is my favorite followed by the K-Mart 3-pack one. Can't stand the lanky MU one anymore after getting those 2.

Just picked up MU Commander Rogers from Target and IMO he is beautiful. I just love the kinda old school looking uniform he his wearing and he has such a great unmasked headsculpt. He is one handsome, good looking 3.75" dude. LOL.

He's my default Cap now... he has great articulation and is my fav version of Cap by far.
