SDCC 2025 - S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball In Hand – Gohan, Vegeta, Piccolo + SHM 23 Godzilla - The Toyark

It’s that time again! SDCC 2025 is next week and Bandai Tamashii Nations have graced us with early copies of the upcoming exclusives. S.H. Figuarts Dragon Ball items include three repaints of previously released figures with upgrades while S.H. MonsterArts gets a 2023 Godzilla.

Details for grabbing these items at the show are below:

Tamashii Nations will be using the Comic Con Portal this year as a way to reserve your space in line. You can do that here. For those that miss the portal deadline, there will be limited quantity available each day at the booth.
Of note – Godzilla DOES NOT need a reservation through the portal. You can pick him up at the Tamashii Nations booth (3329) or at the Godzilla booth (3345).
All of these items may be available at other events, Premium Bandai, and Bandai retail locations later in the year.

So with that, let’s take a look at the San Diego Comic Con 2025 Tamashii Nations exclusives!

S.H. Figuarts GREAT APE VEGETA

If you told me I needed another Great Ape Vegeta, I would have told you to get outta here. However after having this in hand, apparently yes I did. The colors are closer to the anime, and match up with the more modern Saiyan Saga Vegeta. Overall the paint is a bit more polished. So he’s tagging into the shelf display. Very sharp piece.

S.H. Figuarts SON GOHAN (BEAST)

I actually only recently opened my Beast Gohan regular edition (I know I suck). Still buying them all but haven’t had time to open and shoot them. And then soon after, an exclusive version shows up! I like them both, but what I really like about the SDCC version is the effects piece. It’s the same one which came with SDCC Majin Vegeta a couple years back in Gohan-y colors. The figure itself features the pearlescent sheen seen on previous exclusive versions (see our photo of them all last year here). New member to the BLING TEAM.

S.H. Figuarts GREAT DEMON KING PICCOLO

I am less into the OG Dragon Ball, I started with Z so am partial to that era and forward. However, who doesn’t want a diesel Piccolo with a menacing grimace in a kick ass throne? That’s what you are getting here. Glad they did the throne, the line could use more big accessories like this. Colors match the Manga with the yellow body parts, original release had the pink to match the Anime. It’s a great set and pairs perfect with the Tamashii Nations Store NEW YORK Challenger Goku (which will also be at SDCC for sale).

S.H. MonsterArts GODZILLA (2023)

Godzilla Minus One was a sleeper hit, and this is an event exclusive version of their retail release featuring his fins all lit up ready to fire. He also comes with a blast effect to match with a small Tamashii stand to keep it pointing the right direction. The dark paint mixed with the super glowy fins is a great pop on the shelf.

SDCC 2025 Wrap-Up

All in all a great set of exclusives here IMO. If you are non-completionist and just want certain characters – you aren’t missing anything. But if you really like this version of the character, or like this variant, then you have some choice and get a good stand out piece to display. If you are a completionist (like me) then – I see you homie.
