My understanding is that these are a running change. So from here on out this is what their paint app will be like. I guess that will make the original ones more rare in the long run. Just a guess, though.

That's what I figured too. But I wasn't sure if we confirmed variation or just running change, so thought I would ask.

I don't like either changes enough to buy either. I'll pick up Black Spidey soon instead.. Almost got him today but couldn't pass up Ronin, which skirt and hunch aside is a godly looking figure,

Ronin is a good figure, but I hope we get a Hawkeye soon. And Echo. It would be cool if Ronin had Clint Barton and Echo changeable heads.

Yeah Hawkeye is a must have, with freaky face for a Bullseye variant.

When I picked up the figure I was trying to think of a good GI Joe head to swap for... If Matt Trakker wasn't so angry looking and old I think he would be a good choice.. Will have to look for a good head later.

guys its a color correction shipping with the newer cases. Found 8 of the Johnny storm darker colored ones this week. Cap america also gets a slightly darker paint job with better shading not saying its different just looks like paint is applied more intensely.

Why can't they just get it right to begin with. So now The Thing will also be color corrected me thinks.

I could maybe see that applying to Spidey here, but the Johnny Storm figures are two different costumes that appeared in the comics. Even the darker Spider-Man can draw a link directly to the comics.

When Spider-Man first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15, they used darker colors so the blue in his costume was almost black and the red was dark as well. In fact, there was a Marvel Legends release based on this printing error. My guess is this version of MU Spider-Man was done for similar reasons.

However, it's all speculation at this point until we get confirmation directly from Hasbro about it.
