Anyway, I actually am quite sad that BlazBlue is so high on the list. The only two characters that I'd want figures of (and indeed, are the only ones I don't find ridiculously boring) are not even playable :/ |

I would wager to guess you don't follow fighting games closely, then. It's massively popular. I'd been following its progress for two years. The game was developed by a major tourney player, so they went out of their way to nip the most common complaints about fighting games in the bud - like its infinite combo detection system and thorough, in-depth training mode designed specifically to teach new players how to get good at the genre.
Anyway, I actually am quite sad that BlazBlue is so high on the list. The only two characters that I'd want figures of (and indeed, are the only ones I don't find ridiculously boring) are not even playable :/ I've heard they were producing it for awhile, but development time doesn't make something popular(unless it's Duke Nukem forever). I seriously don't believe that everybody who's coming across the poll just happens to be a massive fan of skull girls. No doubt the characters all have their own unique flavor, and all look pretty interesting, but there's only a few I'd pick up. I feel the same about blaze blue, guilty gear, and dark stalkers(except I'd buy a hell of a lot more DS than any other mentioned but I digress). I feel that maybe they should've waited a year before including them on a poll like this. It'd prove it survived the hype and was actually a quality title. Don't you think it seems rather coincidental that a new game just happens to come out and the majority of the votes go for it, rather than titles that were substantially more popular and around much longer? I'd personally like it if it won fair and square rather than be jacked up the poles just to get attention, and potentially beat out everyone(including themselves) from getting figures made. I wouldn't even mind half as much if I believed the people who voted would actually buy the figures. They did the same thing with the Megaman poll, and many members who jacked up Volnutt's vote expressed that they wouldn't buy it, and only wanted to see Mega man legends 3 continue development. It really hurts the cause rather than helps it, and pisses off the fans. |
