we all know HE survives cause he ends up joining the uncanny avengers. Emma is gonna get drunk with power and manipulate the other three to gain their power. She ends up going all super saiyan and its everybody against her. I mean, its the pheonix. Somebody HAS to go out of control with it.

So when does the "No More Avengers" kick in? Isn't that suppose to happen, and are all the filler's almost done like the Avengers and X-Titles....

Picked #8 last week, forgot to discuss. I love when Namor shouts "Imperius Rex!!!!", its great. I'm waiting for Cable to make in appearance. I wonder what the Professor has up his sleeve. Is he just going to mind f*** the phoenix 4? When Red Hulks arm snapped, TOO RAW!

did you guys enjoy rulks solo adventure in avengers 28? We actually see him transform back in to Ross and he goes hunting for mutants in Utopia with a sniper rifle. After getting found out he transforms back and goes on a one hulk rampage, failing miserably. He gets laser blasted halk way across the world into the heart or wakanda with an x across the chest, ensuring how much he got owned.

i dont remember, but did any x book tie ins come out this week?

AvX 9 came out today, phoenix four is quickly unraveling, and I'm pretty sure its phoenix two now lol

What Emma did makes me believe that they're setting up Scott and Jean to get back together, since Jean is returning, but maybe I'm wrong.

On to a better couple, I hope Storm and Black Panther's relationship survive, although it seems unlikely...

On the contrary, I thoroughly enjoyed AvX #9. Finally some emotion went into an issue and it had to be Spidey who stole the show! So far the second half of this series has been solid. If it continues this strong then I might forgive the terrible first half of this event. Almost.

Jeez, spidey's secret identity was kind of slipping this week with multiple mentions of Uncle Ben. Things are really gonna pick up though with the confrontation between hope and scott. I reeeely hope emma dies at the end of this. I absolutly hate her as a character.

Avengers Academy this week went all Teen Titans with members about to(i assume) get killed left and right before the ending. Its funny that they made that jeremy kid into Lex Luthor-lite. God what a fun book this is. I love it.

There's talk of Emma being killed off in the conclusion of Avengers vs X-Men.

Emma is losing it, she went behind Cyclops's back to push Namor into attacking Wakanda, she's a murderer in issue 9, and in issue 10, its not looking any better for her. The cover for 11 is crazy too. Not to mention Jean's upcoming return.

I really think they are pushing Jean and Scott back together, because Emma is just coming apart at the seams.

Not unless they resurrect Jean first to coincide with the Jean who is time displaced in the upcoming book that is being referenced on this thread. Or are we claiming Hope is actually Jean now?

But yeah this original X-Men team book that's coming out is just supposed to be a time displaced team and basically the opposite of the time traveling stories we've been used to. For example, X-Force and Avengers have all recently gone to a future that they are trying to prevent (seen it way too many times), we have seen cable, Deathlok and Bishop, to name a few, come from the future to the present to help prevent a bad future, lol. So why not bring an old team to the future that is actually our present time so they can deal with the AvX aftermath? Ooooooooh....spooky!

I haven't been reading the main books but ive been thinking about it.my problem though is ive been reading uncanny still and the whole premise of what I'm seeing just seems a little funky to me. I mean it's a cool idea but there's so many better marvel stories going on right now that just seem a lot better.

Havent picked up a comic book in about 15 years, with the exception of the meat and potatoes of Civil War. I have picked up every AvX issue to date and I am hella confused. You guys commentary in this thread is helping but damn shit has gotten crazy since my 90s X-Men "Na-na-na-na-naaaaaaa-na-na" theme song days. As someone who hasnt been as invested in the current storylines, it seems to me like:

-Emma will be the final boss battle with either Scott, Jean, Tony, or Prof. X
-Magneto has to get his hands dirty soon
-Tony is Marvels mascot right now so I'm guessing whatever the last ordeal is he'll have his hands all over it.
-WTF is up with Thor? Has he been depowered in recent storylines? It's not that I expect him to knock these dudes around by himself but he's just getting slapped around at this point.
-Where the hell is Hulk? I see he's on the next cover but where has he been this whole time.
-When/why was Xavier kicked out of X-Men?

All in all, Im having a blast getting back into reading comics. Any suggestions on some stories I can jump into and not get even more confused?

I was in the same boat as you a few months back as X-Men stories have done a lot in the last 15 years. It can be hard to figure out where to start. Here is what you need to do.

Read these in order,

Astonishing X-Men (optional)

House of M
X-Men: Deadly Genesis (explains the deal with Xaiver for the most part)
X-Men: Messiah Complex
X-Men: Utopia
X-Men: Second Coming

X-Men: Schism (optional if you want to know why Wolverine left)

From there you are up on what you need to know about pre AvX stuff.

I still haven't seen which titles are starting over. I know some of them won't, especially the ones that just recently started.
