Kid Gladiator was part of the X-Men team that was fighting to get Hope from the Avengers, he was being himself and beating some of the Avengers and bragging about it until Wolverine impaled him. nothing too serious because he seemed fine at the end when his father and the shi'ar came for the Phoenix force lol

Kid Gladiator punches Giant Man in the eye, asks Spider-woman (who's using her pheromones) if she's flirting with him which makes her feel creepy, tries to pick up Thor's Hammer to no avail and takes out quicksilver. Then he questions whether or not there are any Avengers worth his time and sees Wolverine behind him. He seems to be beating Wolverine into a bloody pulp begging him to pop his claws to make it fun, only to find out Wolverine was just waiting for an opening to strike him in a vulnerable area for Strontians, as Wolverine explains how he's pretty much trained to kill everything that walks...including Strontians, and what he is really trying to say is that he should've stayed in school. Lol, I liked that sequence of events. In between that there's a few panels of a flashback between Cyclops and Rachel with her saying she's uncomfortable hunting her friends and Cyclops sounding remarkably like his son Cable back when he was all Jesus like in the Cable and Deadpool series. Which left me wondering if Cyke is controlling members of Wolverine's school with the Phoenix force. In any case Rachel finds hope, and as was previously stated, she lets her go and tells her that if finding the Phoenix is her destiny and that's what she wants then to go do it. She lies to Cyclops about letting hope go and claims she didn't even know if she was there and right when Cyclops grew suspicious of her story...Gladiator shows up declaring that the Phoenix dies today! End story.

To me, the post-AvX Avengers ("Uncanny Avengers") is infinitely more interesting than what's currently going on in AvX itself.
Moreover, it seems to further solidify the Guardians of the Galaxy film, what with RR and Nova being on the new team. Also timetraveling Marvel Girl wtf ![]()

Yeah here's the official info:
Quote:
Uncanny Avengers: A blended Avengers/X-Men book written by Rick Remender and illustrated by John Cassaday , with a cast including Captain America, Thor, Rogue and Havok. Remender is quoted by EW as calling the series a "bridge book" "that can delve into both worlds," though post-AvX tension will be apparent. Starts in October.
All-New X-Men: As long-rumored, Brian Michael Bendis is writing the X-Men, specifically the original five. Still teenagers, they time travel to the present-day Marvel Universe, and aren't pleased with what they find. "It's not a time-travel story like Back to the Future," Bendis is quoted. "It's a time-travel story like Pleasantville," the writer says, with character drama more important than the sci-fi aspect. Art from Stuart Immonen; starts in November. Avengers: Now a biweekly series written by Jonathan Hickman and illustrated by Jerome Opeña, the book will include "18 or more" Avengers team members, and, as the article states, "feature a combination of one-off stories and longer, galaxy-spanning multi-issue arcs." Starts in December.

This probably counts as a massive spoiler then isnt it. I cant belive that cylcops doesnt die at the end of this. Fucking Bendis. All the more reason for me not to start readimg x men books. Im glad hes off Avengers. Im hoping that Hickman can make another piece of gold like he did with the fantastic four. Im still not going to read x men.

All this spite for Bendis. I Loved his run on New Avengers and Ultimate Spiderman including his current Miles Morales Ultimate Spiderman run which is gold right now. While I haven't read it, I also heard his Moon Knight series was also good. Its just events that I don't like him doing and that Avengers Assemble book is garbage.
I'm a fan of Remender so I'll give uncanny avengers a try. I just hope uncanny X-Force isn't being cancelled or I'll be pissed.

captain america, thor, rogue, and havok is an odd team. though i'm just glad to see havok in a possibly bigger role. not really diggin' the look of cyclops, armored cap, hulk, and cable. thor looks neat though.

There has to Be more to it than his though, like what books are gonna get scrapped and so forth. I'm fine with the uncanny avengers thing as long as it doesn't mean they're just combining secret avengers and uncanny x force, then I'll be pissed.
No interest from me in the x book and the avengers with Hickman actually sounds like something promising as he was superb on his whole ff run. But this could just be beginning, we are living in a post avengers movie world where the dollar signs are all important and could end up changing everything for comic books eventually. |

the one good thing from this is the return of "A" Nova. Im not holding out much hope for good ol Richard. But last time he was on the Avengers he took off after 3 issues. Pffh. Oh, and is it just me or is Caps costume eerily similar to the ultimate one. I have so many questions regarding that teaser image.

After reading #7 today, im back on the wall for this one. Even with all the power they are still at the same place where they started which is ironic. Give these mutants a break. I do hope for a great outcome but the way it's getting there is still kind of unnecessary.

Well, issue #8 felt more like filler material than an end to the 2nd act. I'll try to add more detail when I'm off work later if i get the time but the abridged version is pretty much this:
Namor destroys Wakanda. Panther is obviously pissed. Iron Man and Thunderer escape back through the portal to K'un Lun. Avengers assemble and kick the crap out of Namor. Namor recovers then gets confronted by Scarlet Witch. It took all the Avengers to beat Namor. Namor loses his portion of the Phoenix power and it redistributed itself amongst the other 4 Phoenix members, which means he's out. Emma seems to have played Namor since she is seen coercing Namor into his rampage against Wakanda and making out with him at the end of issue 7. Its almost like she knew he would be defeated and they would get his power and become stronger. Avengers all escape to K'un Lun, Hope asks "Is there a plan" Cap looks down and unsure. End issue.

Looks like there's gonna be infighting for possession of the rest of the pheonix force, I assume they'll get crazier and crazier the more of it they get, too. That's bad news considering the pheonix five weren't the most stable bunch even before all this.

i hope emma frost dies at the end of this. I actually felt sorry for justins sentinel in AA. I so want to see what black panther does to Namor now. A fight between two kings. Oh and gross to seeing Red Hulk arm nearly getting taken off. Oh, and now we have professor coming into the playing field.

I actually think, in what would be an awesome twist, that Cyclops will end up killing Emma. How awesome would that be in terms of a game changer to Cyclops?!
