So with all the talk in the news about the possibility of the post office shutting down, what would this spell for those of us that do trades?I heard them say that the internet may be the end for the PO as far as mail but it got me thinking, how would we be able to get trades done?

First I have heard of this. But if it does happen. There is still always FedEx, UPS, and DHL.

Oh, so I am assuming it is just your local Post Office then? I already had a "mail strike" and that sucked HARD.

A lot of post offices are closing (Mine is one of them), but the orginization itself isn't going anywhere.

I dunno man, being Canadian might have to do with our post offices not shutting down. Like Canada Post recently just stopped their postal strike. I can't see it all shutting down now.

I did see a news story on Tv at lunch time about the US Post Office not making money and proposing to stop delivering on Sat and closing several locals and firing 1000's of people in order to make ends meet. I would not be happy about this. The price of stamps goes up every year. The Post Office needs a bail out. Lets fix the Post Office.

Costs Canadians triple. To send MOC it i 5.86 CAD. [5.92 USD]. Maybe USPS needs to start charging more, that won't hurt them much at all. :P

Well you never really mentioned price as a factor. You just said what could we do as an option if they closed.
