Thanks again. I could really use the 12 inch steps but still do not see any for under $40. Could you explain the lego base for the soft case thing you have made? I understand the soft figure cases would not stand up straight and lean forward but what do you do with the lego bases to make them straight? Could you post an upclose pic?

Not a problem. Forgive the somewhat crappy iPhone pics:

Here is what it looks like with the case in the base standing upright:

Here is what it looks like standing by itself out of the base:

And here is the Lego base:

The Lego base consists of the following Legos, which may be hard to see in the photo cause they are all black:
  • Three 8x2 Plates
  • Two 8x1 Bricks
  • One 4x2 Brick

You would connect them like so:
  1. Connect one of the 8x2 plates over the front-most ends of the other two 8x2 plates, making a U shape
  2. On top of that 3rd 8x2 plate that's going horizontal, you snap an 8x1 brick to the front-most part of the plate (this is the front of the base)
  3. Count one set of dots in from the back of the two bottom 8x2 plates and connect the 2nd 8x1 brick horizontally
  4. On top of that 8x1 brick, center the 4x2 brick and snap it on where the brick is hanging over the front
  5. The back of the case rests against the 4x2 brick and the front of the case rests on top of the front 8x2 plate (making it vertical) and against the front 8x1 brick (keeping it snug)
  6. For all I know there's a better permutation of less bricks for the same result of vertical display without covering any of the figure. Let me know if you figure something better out if you try this. lol

I love the cereal collection. The only two missing that I loved as a kid was Nintendo cereal and Nerds.

Thanks! I actually have a Nintendo box as well (see 1st picture). I never had that as a kid but I had Nerds. I remember that tasting weird but good.

Wow thanks so much again. Great idea, I will def use this idea, especially since you can purchase bulk cheap cases. Also the Black Friday Lego store sale has a deal on cheap buckets of bricks so I can grab the pieces I need for cheap. Might even take the idea further and build the steps using clear bricks as risers, wonder if that would look good.

Awesome collection/display! I had a blast pouring over the photos you've posted! Outstanding variety! I especially love those Monster Cereal Kubricks! I have them as well. Great minds....

Bumping this up because I edited the 1st post. I retook pics of display areas that have changed over the past 2 years and created a new Flickr album for my collection.
